When stating power level, the unit is dBm, not dB. The term dB is meaningless when referring to a power level. dBm is power relative to a mW.

I work on phone lines and AM radio. We ordered DATA SCOUT Transmission Test Set but got the Freedom R8100 series com analyzer. Trying to adapt the R8100 to existing equipment and procedures has been frustrating at best. The speakers in your tutorials don't take into consideration that someone that has no knowledge of the equipment is trying to follow along. How do I check/test phone lines using a -8db tone at 1kHZ. How do I sent 1KHZ tone at 30%mod at -8db to modulate my transmitter?

The "quick 'n dirty" bench test is good for when you have a bunch of radios you need to get out for an event - we do this between PMs for some peace of mind and confidence we are handing out good radios for public safety use. We learned how to do this from your video two years ago - a real time saver. Thank you!

Why not blow away competition with a fully loaded system without the archaic codes to activate options? Cost of ownership is high, and shouldn't be.

It would be beneficial if the device wrote to internal memory instead of using an external USB device for security reasons. Would love an encryption feature for information stored within the device also.
