Hello! I’m Aaron. My family nicknamed me “The Mack King!”... Lake trout for the most part here in Washington but I love ALL FISHING... I’m gonna work on getting better tech but at least there are some beautiful fish posted starting in the year 2021! I’m also a major car enthusiast! So I’ll be posting reviews and feedback from my perspective… 😊

@@Noobtubeguy that awesome these things can last a long time! Certainly better IMO than anything brand new… congrats hopefully last you many years to come! 😊
2-3 i have the same probem with the ac on it verry Rought !
@@richardc6038 it’s pretty common… but from my understanding, still capable of lasting a long long time! That good at least 😊
Sharp looking Corolla. I love to see people that take care of their Corolla's because most people abuse them. The 9th Corolla is so forgiving and it's easy to work on. I have 2, one was abused; but they both still run.
@@LifeRx-b4z Absolutely! I find many used vehicles to be neglected. So many times I’ve heard, “It’s a Toyota, so I just have to change oil.” I mean yes, they can still last! But I’ve personally driven a few over 350k miles on original motor/trans. Couple over 400k… These are solid cars that will last as forever long as a car can last when taken care of! 😊
These models where built to last with basic maintenance Those engines & transmissions where pretty much bulletproof. Enjoy I’m eyeing one rite now that belongs to my old neighbour I like driving older vehicles especially yotas. easy & economical to maintain great family haulers
@@on-site4094 Absolutely! I agree completely… Built so darn well where it counts! That’s why so many are on the road still, and some will continue to be for decades to come! 😊
I have a 2000,Sienna XLE, it drive like the first day I bought it.
@@gregkanhai7316 I’m not surprised these minivans are amazing! I don’t think brand new ones will be on the road 25 years from now, let alone as reliable and affordable as these… I’d argue some of these 1st gen’s could very well be on the road 25 years from now tho! 😊
I have a 2008 Pontiac vibe, love the car. Bought the car for $3900 2 1/2 years ago (Canadian dollars) it had 270,000 km. It now has over 320,000 km. One problem with the Pontiac/Toyota is that at 299, 299 it will stop counting. Toyota knows about it and there’s nothing to do. (My daughter-in-law works for a Toyota dealership, and she checked.) I use the odometer to keep track of mileage at every fill up so that’s how I know how many kilometres are in now and when to do oil changes. It’s a good review. Mike from Montreal.
@@michaelleitold2446 good to know! I’ll let my brother know that, as he’s less than 10k miles away now… thank you for the comment! 😊
love the review. been looking at a gen 1 highlander for awhile
@@luhdawger thank you! 😊 It’s just a super affordable AWD option that I’ve seen multiple 300k plus miles on… 💯
rumor has it he’s a big guy
@@luhdawger lol accurate 😂😊
My car looks the same way when I’m the one repairing it 😂. I don’t blame you for having stuff in it. So many negative Nancy’s in the comments who got their feeling hurt by an honest car review. I do not understand those odd people but I liked the review. And how the heck do y’all find low priced cars I see an 06 XR manual for 6k with 121k miles. Is the car market really that rediculous?
@@RaiJK3 Thank you for the awesome comment! Honestly we got lucky, the owner had it for many years and was elderly, the listing said -Matrix for sale, beater with a heater… we went and looked at it same day it posted and bought it. He had a crazy amount of messages… so we got lucky lol… It’s been a super reliable daily! Just keeps on going! 😊💯
Those Corollas are the best used cars
@@theparrotchannel2625 still going strong too! I agree 🎯, them, and the matrix with that 1.8 just go forever with a little bit of maintenance… and tend to last even being neglected… completely agree! 💯😊 and affordable…
I was already sold on getting one, but now the first gen is in my search list as well 🙂↕️
@@VirtualStepdad absolutely! 😎 Still currently my number one bang for your buck vehicle! I sold this sienna to my brother(only way I would of sold it lol), and he currently has this van up over 200k miles still running absolutely perfect! 😊
@FishingAndCars that's awesome, definitely excited to get one
@@VirtualStepdad 💯😊
You shouldn’t have that much fluid coming out of the fill plug. Maybe a few drops but maybe 5he last time it was filled the vehicle wasn’t level??? and it was over filled which can damage the seals.
@@Zeek800 I’m grateful I changed it… it looked good! But now I know it’s new, and is closer to the correct fill level… just trickle, not pour out! Lol thank you for the comment! 😊
Are the 04-06 Sienna as reliable as the first gen? Im trying to get a Sienna, I like the space of the 04-06, but I want whichever one is less repairs. Any advice?
@@jasonleachman933 Siennas are my first choice minivan. There’s pros and cons to the generations. 04-06 have an interference engine! So make sure that timing belt and water pump have been done! If the timing belt breaks the engine is toast! But I’ve personally seen one with that 3.3L v6 at 375k miles still running strong! I would buy one of those pending what I said, and inspecting it myself, or having a trusted mechanic do a pre-purchase inspection… clean title always, and don’t buy a rusty one! I’d be open to about any sienna it just more so depends on budget, and the specific sienna peaking interest! :-) Both first and second gen Siennas are great in their own right…
Good luck fishing 🤞

Also, the driving modes selector is near the gear shift. It defaults to Sport mode when you start up. I change it to normal when i start up because that mode uses more gas cause it keeps your rpms higher.
@@Rob774 It is, ours didn’t default to sport though… it stayed on normal for us 😊 honestly though, if I got on it, it felt the same… pretty sure with a WOT it just defaults to everything it has… but it was regularly driven on normal… man going 60-65 flat ground we saw crazy mpgs for the power it had! Great review. I'm in the market for a new reiiable rig and am really interested in a 2015 Limited. I'd love to know how you got the dealership to shave off $4000 ??
@@Bigglesworth78 they were asking too much and days on lot was almost to 60 days… a combination of that, and fully being committed to walk throughout the process really helped navigate that. 2002 with 120k XLE fully loaded, has lots of power for a van and gives a nice roomy ride.
@@PlumberGuy-ez9wx sounds like a gem! I really think this will be one of the old Toyota rigs where value goes up some in time… some of these will be 50 years old one day and still on the road! Lol
@@FishingAndCars got it for 4k 5 years ago with 60k odo. One owner garage kept. Once in a lifetime find.
@@PlumberGuy-ez9wx absolutely! I’d pick that over ANY brand new one… 😊
@@FishingAndCars for sure, only problems have been related to the salt on NJ roads and normal wear. The suspension mostly needs to be replaced that's about it, it has less rust than my 2019 Chevy equinox next to it...
@@PlumberGuy-ez9wx these were made extremely well for rust prevention… eventually it’s going to happen but yes, they hold up much better! Suspension is a wear item eventually too lol but very worth the money to keep it going! New is ridiculously expensive and not built to last IMO as much as the oldies 😅😊
My mom asked me to help fix and sell her ‘98 Sienna XLE. I told her my friend and I can fix it up and it’s still usable. She said I could keep it. Only 109k miles. So excited.
Oh man yes! Absolutely! Give it a little love, 109k, it’s still a baby lol… so much potential and possibilities with these! 😊
@@FishingAndCarsI’m on the fence, Their is a sienna for sale 180k 3,500 or 2000 Windstar 109k for sale same price. After looking at a 2016 dodge caravan the leather seats were so hard and uncomfortable I don’t care if they are stow and go, I passed on it and looked at an old sienna. Now I’m trying to decide. Those older vans have very comfortable seating.
@@flowergarden1426 I would run a carfax if I was serious on something, or request one. In my opinion the longevity and smoothness on these siennas triumphs all! However regular oil changes is huge as the 3.0 can sludge up if not. Or see if they have a maintenance history/receipts for it. The sienna in my video is over 200k miles! My brother needed a family vehicle and bought it from me… still runs drives like it’s brand new! If I was a betting man and they really are similar conditions, ect… I’d pay the $1500 more for a sienna or try to talk them down to 3k… I’ve also driven one of these with over 400k miles, original motor, original transmission and running perfect! If taken care of, nothing in my opinion compares to a sienna 😊
@@FishingAndCars thank you so much, I’ve always loved Toyotas, just put down my Yaris 253k and bought a vibe with a Toyota engine. I love the body style of the 2000 sienna and I don’t know why they ever changed it, I think they went backwards with the 2024.
@@flowergarden1426 I’m a Toyota enthusiast but that ends pending model 2022 or so, so I agree… The Sienna in my video is 25 years old, very little to zero rust, mostly original parts, and like new driving experience… we just won’t get that out of the newest stuff in my opinion, but we’ll see! 😊
Those struts needed to be changed 50,000 miles ago. The 2016-2020 had tranny issues, which is why you want the 2015. The 2014 has issues too.
Those struts needed to be changed 50,000 miles ago.
@@Rob774 they did! You are 100% correct 😊
It has under 190,000 miles... unless he turned back the mileage meter???
@@jstephensoneyeOpen I’m not aware of how that’s been done or how to do that… perhaps dash cluster swap although these may be new enough vehicles for a higher end scan tool to see actual mileage from the engine computer… hopefully it’s the actual mileage!
I bought a 2005 Toyota matrix XR from Kirby ll Hemet California...and got ripped off! 3,250.00 having problems getting it smogged he sold it to me like I got it from the title owner he bought it from. I can't prove that he sold it to me! I still will get it going. But don't know what else will pop up that needs to be fixed? So far the OG sensor I have replaced... going to the shop for the edle control valve replacement. Has burnt out engine light... And vacuum leak, don't know what that is going to cost? Don't buy from this guy at Kirby ll !!!
@@jstephensoneyeOpen I’m sorry about your experience! Where I’m located we no longer are required to do anything emissions related. From my experience of owning over 100 vehicles the check engine light has never been burnt out, unless deliberately tampered with… it’s not impossible just more possible someone had knowledge of that! Even the best rigs ever made can be not good ones to buy… I do think these are solid older vehicles overall but definitely something for me and others to keep in mind if we buy one!!! I hope things turn out for the better for you in the future! 🍀
are these reliable after 300k miles? im considering getting one with 312 on the dash and it was maintained as it was supposed to be.
@@jordanmitchell-e3g Maintenance history matters lots. I’d also recommend a pre purchase inspection by someone with car knowledge whom you trust. I do believe there are many good reliable examples out there that would still have lots of life ahead of them, while also some that may have run their course… Engine timing belt and water pump, how’s that transmission and how often the fluid was changed, checking for rust issues, AWD system and suspension looking like it should and feeling like it should… any check engine lights? Check exhaust system, and more!ect… it also depends on what buying price is and if this vehicle would be a every day driver 20-25k a year might be tough… just lots of variables to consider but I do believe many of these are capable of 500k miles… always helps to have a bit of luck as well! 😊
Far from a mechanic, but I'd be wary of 300k even with the big 3(Honda, Toyota, Suburu). Even when well-maintained, you are at the end of the life of that vehicle. That being said, at that mileage, most things (belts, pumps, etc) have had to be replaced at least once by now.😂
@@Rob774 it’s all about value and needs… if you can get a vehicle really cheap because of that mileage and don’t intend on driving it a crazy amount of miles, you can have years of use :-) vehicles are too expensive lol, people lose money all the time on cars, casino, ect… why not take an educated guess/roll of the dice? I bought a 4 runner several years ago for $1k with 340k miles on it, used it two years and then sold it for $1900, driving 3-4 times a weeks to help keep wear off my daily… it was fun and I made money on it! Selling it at 357k miles 😊 only did basic maintenance and a car battery, still made at least 500 bucks 💯😂
If it's over 300k, reliability is well below 50%. I suggest u let it go. I bought a 500k kilometres plus honda accord, can't say it wasn't reliable but I've spent alot fixing stuffs at their expiration. So far, it didn't leave me stranded but sure spent alot on maintenance so far, cuz I pay attention to strange noises n abnormal feel.
@ it’s all relative, so price and life… if you can spend 5-7% cost of new, for 25-50% life as a knock around car why not? I’ve bought a rig for $3000 that I could drive across the country and back, and also a $40,000 dollar rig… It’s almost always worth maintenance here and there to keep a used car going vs losing your a** on a new car lol 😊💯 but yeah you’ll spend money here and there on used/older…

Nice find. I have an 05 with 176K on it, (Montana) bought it from the original owner. Mine is the base model, 3.3l AWD, 3rd row seats with the tow package. It's in super clean condition also, no rust, was garaged most of it's life. There are no TPMS sensors in the wheels. These models have wheel speed sensors on the hubs. You might pull the wheels and see if the wires are attached and sensors are there. I just put a new windshield in mine cost $325, had the original in it, had lots of pitting and 5 rock chips in it. I have owned mine for 5 years. You can also reset the low tire pressure sensor on it, there is a button under the dash on the left side. Putting the new tires on it may be what triggered the warning light. There are videos here on YT that will show you how to reset it, it's really easy. I would start there first. I just love mine and it does fantastic on icy roads and snow, with snow tires on it, if you get those conditions where you live. Hope you enjoy your Highlander for many years. I know a lady where I live and she had an 05, with 376k on it! Still ran great, these are known to push 400k with proper maintenance. Good to hear your up on the maintenance, your totally right about that. We have got 24 mpg during the summer on highway trips. I am also meticulous with maintenance, used to be a Chevy guy, but only own Toyota's now. Check out the Car Care Nut channel, he's a dedicated master Toyota mechanic, lot's of knowledge there. 👍

@@FishingAndCars Yes for sure, evertime I get in it I can't believe it's 20 years old. That's why I stick with Toyotas now. I've owned lots of GM cars and trucks and always had to work on them fixing something. I'm like you a dyi guy. You Tube helps a lot when needing to fix things 😁. I think that's great what your doing, keep it up and your videos are great too. Hopefully you'll start getting more attention. Let me know if that tire reset work. 👍
@@DJ-kh8if I appreciate the kind words lots! Thank you! 😊… I have reset it and it comes right back… I’ll look into the hub sensors more! I had a 2000 Toyota Sienna that I sold to my brother for his family and the back wheel sensors fell off so i used a gorilla epoxy to glue them back on and the tire light went away… it worked and is still working a year later! lol… I did that as replacement was expensive and I read success stories on forums. I’m also wondering if I can delete the tire light like you can on a 2004 4Runner. Under the glove box if you splice two wires together it permanently disables tire light… I may look into that as well
Why blur the video onto half the screen? Are you afraid of someone?
@@Villor_ I’m certainly not a professional at this! I only use my phone! And protecting the privacy of others and their vehicles is why I add the blurs.
