Troubleshoot: Remote whip flashes when plugged in.
If your whip flashes quickly when pluged in and won't change colors this is how you fix it.

Figured this out on my own. Thought I wired into brakes and blinkers wrong, turned out just the colors were not set up correctly. 😑
Customer sevice is non existent since new owners took over. Instructions with whips says don't run a relay and use an inline 10amp fuse, which is it???

Why do my power and ground look different?
Even if the description says the y splitter is included they aren’t and if you order multiple lights they don’t include the extensions to make ‘em all work so I’m guessing you have to wait to see what arrives and reorder the stuff you need to make it work.
Don't buy if they brake good luck getting their warranty department to call you back only lasted on ride on my razor

How you get those color configurations?
The rock lights on the right side only turn white they won’t do anything else. Any advice?
I just received my 187 Bluetooth and was told that I could hook it up with just the kit. Looking like I need this harness but I don’t want to run another switch on my unit. Was told I can run with out one. Is this possible? And do I need to order the harness? All I got was my Bluetooth controller with my kit
The 3 pin connectors NEVER line up ! Absolute nightmare to connect every time you want to remove your whips. Or for installation for that matter.
Is there a store to buy them and can they be used on a boat???
Those 3 pin connector suck
Almost never line up the first time. The pins get bent and then it turns into a nightmare.
So how did you get them connected I can't even get one lined up.
@@n2sport1 I used a tiny flat blade screwdriver to bend the male pins into formation so it would line up. You have to be very gentle with these. DO NOT push them together. You will disform the pins.
There's a small notch in the connector that you have to line up. Use that as a guide, and your pins will go in perfect every time
Can I run these whips off of my 4-pin trailer plug on the back of my truck?
Mine won't connect to the app can only use the Lil remote to change colors
If you recently ordered the 5150 187 whips and they came with a remote control, then you have a the newest style. These new Bluetooth controllers will not connect to the bledim app. You have to use the BanlanX app. I just found this out today from 5150 customer support.
Cindy go to the settings on your phone then go to privacy and security, click on that. At the top it says location. Turn that on. Your app should then start working. Mine did anyway.

I just installed my 187 whips with the wiring harness. But my issue is I downloaded the IOS App and it wants 6 bucks to give me all the options. For the amount of money I spent that should be included for free in the phone app.

What app do you guys use. I bought a set of 187 whips and rock lights and it came with the BanlanX controller I see everyone else using BLEDIM and it seems superior tu BanlanX?
I have 2 6’ 187 and I want to get rock lights when they are back in stock
Does the harness make 3rd party rocker switch backlights to be backwards? I just installed the harness and my rocker switch top light stays on and the bottom lights up when the switch is engaged. But when hooked up without the harness the bottom light stays on and the top light is on when engaged.
Just about to buy it ,it says it doesn’t come with a power harness do I need to buy to be able to install them or is the power harness just for the switch ?

I bought (2) 187 whips and (8) 187 rock lights. How can I wire them with (2) separate switches and have them sync when both powered on? Do I need 2 harnesses?

I cannot get the app to connect to my iPhone, iPad, or Samsung phone. Seriously 5150 you need to have a dedicated app for your product. So I have th3 rock lights, 3 whips that don’t do nothing but strobe. This is pissing me off. Spent the money on what seems like garbage.
Hello Pat. Please don't be angry we are here to help. Call us tomorrow at 800 674-9920 ext 2 and tech support will help get you up and running. One controller will power and control all your accessories. If your 187 whips came with a remote control try downloading the banlanx app.
Having the same problem they just change colors or strobe. They do not chase or go up and down .

Hello, we appreciate the feedback. As a manufacture and not an install shop our insurance does not allow us to give detailed instructions on installs. Therefore, we can only give generalized basic info. We always recommend professional installation if you do not have knowledge on how to wire 12 volt accessories. However, there are videos on UA-cam that show installation that could be very helpful. Happy riding!
Well have someone that makes UA-cam videos that u give these whips to push the sale of them, have them make a video how u guys want them to be wired. Do u want the controller down where the battery is? I wouldn't think so? I'd think you'd want it up high so it doesn't get wet. Plus the whip wires only make it to battery location, so now I'm assuming that's where the controller and the relay harness gets mounted 🤷♂️ idfk
What's the app called?
So the connection I have on my controller to the wiring harness are different. I noticed the ones in your hand are round, however the controller connections are flat. Did you cut them off and add different connections?
Please call our tech staff on Monday. If your connections are not round its a good chance it won't be compatible. 800 674-9920 ext 2.
Mine connectors from the harness and the controller module are different as well and I just received them

The new app doesn't use "music player" like the old one. Just the mic which picks up everything. Still awesome whips though. 👏👏
Is the new app for both the Bluetooth and the 187 if you know
The benefit is you can use apps like Spotify in conjuction with this. When it was music player it would only work with mp3's saved to your Bluetooth device.
