Yeah so back in 19 83 when the WEP was passed it was because back then high-ranking people in government positions we're making a lot of money in their public employee pensions as well as drawing Social Security because they did both jobs so Congress said enough is enough and instead of putting an income cap on the public employee benefits they just said whatever we're just going to cut them all down to 30% of what they should have been. That was wrong and that was illegal. Over 80% of people who have worked any public employee position as well as worked in a private employee position and have paid over 40 work quarters to qualify for Social Security because they paid for it for over 40 work orders are now only receiving about 30% of their social security. If they hadn't worked in the public sector at all they'd get 100%. And that's not fair because these are not rich people these are people who live at or below poverty levels for the most part. And then when they do qualified to claim their social security they find it reduced down to about 30% of what it should have been. me I worked for a year as a public employee when I was forced into an industrial disability pension. Oh but they don't call it a pension they call it a benefit. Anyways when I went when I hit 65 you're forced to have Medicare thanks to the totalitarian Act of Obama or you're forced to have medical insurance. So since I couldn't afford to eat much less have medical insurance I did finally enrolled in Social Security benefits. I was told that they would be around 1600 but because I have a public employee I'm only going to get 30% of that. And then I also have to pay for Medicare part B and part D or else I will be penalized financially. Can I get these people that are complaining saying will you know it should affect all of us know because you get 100% of what you paid into. And oh this 2.5% cost of living that they just gave us this year reduce my actual benefit from Social Security due to Medicare increasing its premiums. And then they increase the amount that I had to pay before Medicare would kick in and pay for anything. I can't afford that amount. you people who say that we don't deserve it don't understand that we paid into it we paid 100% into it we paid our 40 work quarters or more into Social Security but then our benefits were stolen from us. It's like going out to a restaurant and ordering a steak dinner but when your dinner arrives you don't get the steak but you're still charged the full amount for that steak dinner.
