NAMM 2024. The dying remnants of a dying industry where all get together to celebrate their inadequacies and their relationships with their fathers and rendering themselves emotionally incapable in dealing with anything other than validations from strangers, indeed.
Devin can transform any moment into a musical/comedy performance, even if he's overwhelmed and stressed out of his mind. I wonder whether he finds it a bit less difficult to decompress from NAMM nowadays or just the same, but i wish him the best anyway. He's an absolute treasure. ❤
Poor Devin lol. He’s so talented but he was at the mercy of both the noise of NAMM and of a moody acoustic guitar yikes. I can speak from experience that when acoustic strings are brand new but haven’t been stretched yet, tuning per string can change frustratingly quick. Devin is an amazing musician and handled this well lol.
welcome to the family my guy... there's a long way ahead, this absolute batshit crazy bastard and blessing of a human being has 20+ albums under his belt across his multiple eras (strapping young lad, devin townsend project, devin townsend band, solo). enjoy the ride!
@@denverrandy7143 Nice picks! Genesis certainly isn't usually an early pick for people, it kind of is an amalgamation of the different styles he covered over the years so it's kind of all over the place. So if there were parts that you liked, there's probably albums out there in that style :D Some other nice introduction songs (I usually prefer his live versions): * Failure - at Plovdiv * Deadhead - at Royal Albert Hall * Higher! - at Plovdiv and if you want to take an album deep plunge, google for "Devin Townsend Flowchart" and check that out. It's a bit outdated, missing some of the newer albums, but it's a good start! (PS. My favorite listen is the "holy trinity" - Funeral, Bastard and Death of Music at Royal Albert Hall)
Imagine being there not knowing whose on the mic, just a dude being crazy yapping youd think its a crazy person and then holy SHIT wtf was that glorious mind blowing vocals.
Thank you for posting this....I feel so fortunate to live in the same time period as Devin
You've just given us another reason to love you Devin.
The Best
Amazing as always ☺️
Love this shit!!! Dude is awesome!!!
A London Tube station would have better sound, but fair play to DT for making the best of it
Poor Devy .... also, why is he playing a Cole Clark? His signature acoustic is a Prestige.
Why not? CC make lovely instruments!
@@TroublesomeOwl they do indeed.. just thought they wouldn't want him playing other brands.. don't know
What a shitty noisy place to play. Devin deserve better.

Freakin love you man!! I appreciate all your musical talent's and man you're funny as hell!! 🤘🤙✌️
Still a great performance despite very distractive envoirment for such acoustic set. That's Evertune bridge missing right there
Great vid! Whats the brand of guitar he's using in this vid?\
Let It Roll 1:51 Deadhead 6:12 Bring Him Home (from Les Misérables) 9:31 Solar Winds 17:28 Ih-Ah! 20:41
My man really out here giving the best performances in thrall to capitalism at a public place he really doesn't want to be, truly an inspiration
Nailed the pitch despite not being able to hear... Astounding!
This guy is absolutely wonderful!!! What a great human being!!!
master entertainer
I love this human
devin is absolutely amazing

Where did this take place? I assume it was some kind of mall? Poor Dev, he did his best to make it work. Well at least we got another comedy piece lol
He says early in the video it was NAMM 2024.
The only musician that can touch my Soul❤
While also touching your bumhole!

@@denverrandy7143 Now that you´ve almost certainly seen the Royal albert hall Deadhead, what´s your opinion😁?
Best comedy special I’ve seen in years.

With all due respect to Devin, he is a f**king crazy person 😃
Was that last song new?
Nah that was Ih-Ah! from Addicted :)
