This channel is about my Orchids growing outdoors in southeastern Australia. Also there will be snipets of my Succulents and other plants as well so that anyone can get and idea of what it is like to grow outdoor when indoors is not an option.
Southport and District Show
Saturday I visited the Southport and District last show for the year. Once again a wonderful display of Orchids as well as a lot to buy in the sales area. Some I saw where Stanhopea, Vandan Oncidiums, Catlaya, miltoniopsis.

Across Australia rtn day 23 /24

Day 23 we traveled back across the Nullabor from Norseman to Nullabor Road house for overnight. Day 24 continued on and visited 'The Head of the Bite' then further on to Fowlers Bay. At 'The Head of the Bite we where surprised to see so many Mother and calf Southern right whales, wondrous sight it was. Overnight at Ceduna, with a quick look around. Southport & Districts Orchid Show May 2024

Today we visit the Southport & Districts Orchids show and it was very well attended which made it difficult to video and include the name tags of the Orchids as I usually do. Also trying to keep peoples faces out became impossible although I tried my best. Across Australia Trip; Return Home

Today is the 1st day of our return trip back to the Gold Coast in Queensland. We travel along the Great Eastern Highyway from Perth via Meckering, Coolgardie to Norseman the Gateway to the East and the Nullabor Plains. Music from UA-cam and Clipchamp libraries.

Across Australia Days 17 - 21 in Perth Western Australia

Today we visit Fremantle, Riverside Drive, follow the road along the coast north to Burns Beach, then inland to the foothills for the Zigzag Road (but no vid of it sorry) then onto Hyde Park. Weather has been very hot, humid and wet so has affected to amount of blooms this month. So we have a loo at Dendrobiums, Prosthechea, Stanhopea, Odontocidium and Coelogyne. No Vandas this will be coming in a short soon. Music from clipchamp.

This is another to our Across Australia set. While in Perth we visited the famous Kings Park and to get there we travel along the Great Eastern Highway west along Riverside drive past Parliament House and into Kings Park. Music from UA-cam library and Clipchamp.

Your Stanhopia blooms are gorgeous! What is the fragrance like?
Thanks for watching. Fragrance as you know is subject to who is trying to describe it, but for me it is very strong almost to overpowering and smells a bit like vanilla chocolate. I do like it though.

Thanks for watching. My Phaius are in a mix of normal potting mix + sand for good drainage. As you know they are swamp Orchids but don't like standing in water but rather a damp media I find better
