How Much Do You Spend On A Bottle Of Wine?
Man tell me why i thought it looked like cognac or brandy 😂😂
I’m sorry, this was a very informative video and I really do appreciate it but please, please, please try and pronounce the words properly!!! Just a little smidgeon of effort, you’re breaking my poor Italian heart into so many pieces😂
Just started putting effort into wine. Tasting and getting a feel for it. Just this week I realized riesling isn't the dry wine that my mother seemed to be obsessed with. Infact, I splurged on an amazing bottle that was sweet and fruity, not powder milk dry. Love your channel, love your vibe!
Have a few bottles of 2021 Schäfer-Fröhlich Felseneck Riesling GG. For $100 it is an absolutely amazing wine.
❤ Does Costco have ORGANIC dry red wine?
I can 1000% tell you that trellises can make or break your operation. Working for a few different vineyards, the ones that invest in good trellising have a much better yield in both quantity and quality. And it makes everything easier to work with.
Careful! Most people confuse TCA with bacteria, but that's actually not accurate...
Riesling
Pairings!
Pairings!
Pairings🌶️🌶️
Ok but put the jalapeño IN the wine. I promise
Pairings, I love these videos. Keep it up.
Alcoholic Karen alert
Alcoholic 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Pairings! The energy in this video....I need more of it please!!
That actually is real. There’s actually many recipes of real wine pies. You just did it wrong.
I clicked on this video to learn about wine but also got a lesson in how the brain is shaped and works
I love the last part about imagining crazy tasting notes! I rarely meet people who would let themselves go free like that when tasting, as it usually becomes all about how to "correctly" identify the aromas, but I think the imagination and the free association that scents provoke is one of the greatest charms of wine. Thank you for reminding us and encouraging it. Question: Do these smells just pop up in your mind intuitively? At the moment, I find it difficult to immediately tell the different aromas upon smelling. I have to focus and think "does this smell like orange" and really look for that smell. It's easier for me to get the overall impression like "this smells like sauvignon blanc", but when trying to go into more the details, like is this sauvignon blanc more grapefruit or lemon? Or "why does this vernaccia remind me of sauvignon blanc from the Loire?" It takes a lot of focus and many tries! For you, with time, did this become more automatic and you identify them right away?
Boring
Love the enthusiasm
Man, you know your wine!
Outside, dirty, rolls around in garbage, likes bbq potato chips. That sounds just like me working at the winery.
Great video! I’m taking enology & viticulture classes and my instructors stress the importance of taking notes every time you try a wine in order to improve your senses. I’ve found the Vivino free app to be very helpful. I can rate and write my notes on the app, then afterwards look at other people’s notes. It’s great to read what others say and I often say “oh yeah, I missed that” or “I didn’t get that at all.” As you say, it’s like working out at the gym with repetition.
Thank you friend! Vivino can be a great tool, I encourage people to use it more like a "wine diary" than a way to "buy the best wine". It sounds like you're using it right IMO :)
Agreed, I don’t use it for finding wines. Besides the diary, I use it to keep track of my inventory in my wine cellar, along with where I bought and how much I paid. No more opening the door and searching drawer by drawer!
I've been preparing for the CMS Certified Sommelier exam. I'm getting better at picking up scents and evaluating the structure of wine as I keep practicing. However, I have this uncomfortable feeling that my tasting notes are becoming standardized and confined within the grid and descriptors. This video reminded me of the reason I got into wine: to evoke creativity and appreciate the beauty in wine. Thank you so much.
Thats what its all about! I'm a big believer in learning the rules before you break them. It's good to learn through something like WSET or CMS but Slik Skool is here to help you remember the roots and why we pursue wine in the first place!
Hmm... interesting. I know absolutely nothing about wine. So if one was to start collecting just to collect not drink which would be some good ones to add to a collection and is there a proper way to store wine or does it really matter?
Wine sucks ass
Have you ever tried wine from the Barossa valley in South Australia?
Really helpful, would love to see more
Oh there will be more :) thank you!
well that was pointless. jesus christ lady
You like the Persian one because... Its not an Arab country! Halva is so rich and sweet.. so idk about wine with it... But do as you wish, I'm not a cultural gate-keeper.
Barefoot Moscato is good.
Go sleep you 🔔 stop acting like you know about these things clearly you don’t .
No he made 16,200 in revenue profit is what's left after expenses like bills tax and wages are taken out
Hrrrrrrrr 😂
If a wine doesn’t give you much on the nose, try pulling it’s finger.
The point of the wine fridge is to save space in the refrigerator.
That’s soda but grape juice Ed Begley junior
It not a waste of money it basically grasped juice that tastes like wine!
Grape
Riesling seems to be only good wine to come out of Germany.
You would be sorely mistaken, my friend
They have a variety of good grapes Pinot Gris/blanc you gotta expand your taste most countries or regions that grow grapes have multiple variety that are delicious! Wine is so fun!
Wine can stay good for up to 1500 years
great video! but crazy how you pronounce your profession as Smolliere xD
XD I guess trying new wine is like eating pizza even when it's bad it's still pretty good
Is it bad that I’m angry that they even make these? What is the purpose?
What a “sommelier” you are… part of the job description is “wine TASTING” not “wine whining/wine yapping”
Nice! I only drink alcohol free special beer and really enjoy them. Now I hope to find wine without alcohol I actually like.. Then finally I can stop drinking 😊🎉❤
first Riesling at Schloss Johannisberg, "seit 1720 ausschließlich Riesling." Elbling is much older. Riesling, MT / Rivaner are in dry, off dry and sweeter versions. I prefer the sweeter ones. Spätburgunder, WeißBurgunder und Grauburgunder i can recommend. :) Just as Auxerrois. You have to read the labels when the alcohol is low (7 - 10%) the wine has residential sugar. Love Riesling
What if i never smelled or taste wine in my life then how will i figure it out that the wine is good or not 😅
"Promo sm"
HI SLIK! I’m on the UA-cams! Always love your transparency And I feel you 🫶 Great vid, and as you know, I can relate a lot. 😆
