Thank you for making this video. I have been a paid user of chat GPT for a long time and I literally tell chat GPT everything and use it's memory to continue conversations where we left off. Well I got a new card and forgot to change my payment method, so when my payment didn't go through, it dropped my plan to free. Free chatGPT is absolutely unusable and now I understand why so many people think I'm crazy and chatGPT doesn't work. It literally hallucinated every question, bringing up topics I didn't even discuss or ask it about. It brought up conversations between me and people that I hadn't spoke about in months. I tried multiple times in different chats and each time it was hallucinating and not making any sense. I even have alerts setup and get emails when chat GPT gets errors or is down, and there were no alerts and it was functioning normally. Now they came out with a $200 a month plan and my fear is that it will only continue to grow and get more and more expensive.

Still not a word regarding Deepseek, I listen to the podcast on Spotify, had to come here to check if there was a delay or something… but it seems you are avoiding it…

I've been experimenting with gems and drive. I have a set of meeting transcripts, with clear and consistent file names YYYY-MM-DD MEETING TITLE that I copied into a folder in MyDrive. I created a gem that explicitly requests a response from that folder, using @Google Drive, folder name as well as the folder ID and the full folder web link. Alas, the gem not only wanders outside of the folder, but preferences returning from information from specific files that have little relation to the request. It seeks like the files encoding into the underlying index (I'm assuming it's a vector) is not chunking data well and, worse, common doc elements such as data fields, names, etc are not being extracted and used as supplementary data in the search. So there is a lot of room for improvement. If Google gets this right, it is indeed a huge boon for business.

I would put Perplexity in over ChatGPT search, and ChatGPT projects over Canvas.

@Jordan, you can actually you prompt to ask it to change the model manually. e.g. Switch to Gemini pro 2.0 experimental, or switch to Gemini pro 1.5 deep research

This does look good…. except for the bias and the things that prevent crawlers like this from being able to access ALL of the content potentially available online. From what I understand the internet that the average person has access to, and by default a platform like Deep Research, is a fraction of what is truly available. It’s like the proverbial Iceberg. Most people can only access the tiny tip and the tip is “controlled” and inherently bias. Right? The internet overlords know way more than the average person. And we kinda do live in a simulation. What if the world you know isn’t real? How literal should we take this Neo?

Great show. I just spoke to our AI committee about universal basic income. It was a scary conversation some may not take seriously or they can not imagine it. I was told if the robots come and take jobs humans would still be needed to repair them. I pointed out that we can have a robot to repair other robots. Speechless from trying to wrap their heads around the simple evolution of logic. 😮

Genius manoeuvre! Thank you Jordan. It's weird that the reason model is offered. Are you sure it doesn't work? The "task" feature is (or can be) super useful but I'm guessing most people don't know how to write a prompt and set them up effectively to maximize its power.

If gems can't be focused, they are useless for practical business apps. I've found them to not be anywhere near as effective as alternatives
