Ghost Keeper
United Kingdom
Приєднався 24 чер 2021
My ghost tour has been running for over 20 years in York, during which time I have entertained literally tens of thousands of people to great acclaim, with high scores on TripAdvisor and other platforms and many coming back for more. The tour itself is humorous with plenty of gags and teasing. However, for the UA-cam channel I decided to stretch my wings a little and deal with stories that are not included on the tour in a slightly more sober storytelling manner. Let me know which kind of style you prefer in the comments.

* WARNING: This video contains reference to suicide * Goodramgate is one of the oldest and most historic streets in York and has a variety of ghosts to match! Yes, I know it's called the Snickleway Inn and not the Snickleways Inn but I prefer the latter! That's what most of the locals seem to call it anyway :D . Come to think of it: the correct spelling is actually Snickelway (with an 'el') acc...

Ok, nothing to do with ghosts but I couldn't help sharing my niece's experience the other day, as captured on her security cameras. Mind you, if the guy on the bike isn't careful with his riding, he could easily end up being a ghost sooner rather than later! I'm surprised he wasn't more badly injured. I've tried to edit out some of the swearing! Unfortunately, there's no audio on the 2nd camera...

021 A Nighttime Stroll Around the Misty Minster Area | York
Переглядів 370Рік тому
No stories this time... just a quiet little walk around a few of the dark streets and narrow alleyways of York. The last few weeks have been a little damp and misty at times. The Ghost Keeper takes a stroll around, so that you don't have to. The limitations of the camera in poor weather and at night make for some interesting, almost Impressionistic effects! Great tour 👍
Thanks!!
Beautiful Video ❤❤
Thanks m'dear. I'll pass your comments on to my niece!
My sister had her hair pulled by a ghost in the the red room. It really is haunted!
Thumbs up new subscribers here ⌚
Welcome!!
I want to say that if you are feeling or experiencing a strong energy in a place as you were at this location, on the stairs, the chances are that you could be clairsentient, like myself. It is nothing to be concerned about, it is a gift. I believe the stories because when I visited the UK with my friends on vacation we experienced something strange, we saw the same thing. It is something that remains with you always. I love your outfits 🥰💕 ^^
I am the tall chap on your tour yesterday loved it. Subscribed
Very interesting, thank you for sharing i cant wait to.visit 😊
You're most welcome! Hope you enjoy your Brodsworth excursion.
What is also needed to be remembered is that there was a house on the site of the grand hotel, where Ann Brontë passed away in before the hotel was built
Really atmospheric
I saw 2 children messing with a table in the ballroom, I was looking at them through the entrance door into the ballroom, their heads turnt back and they saw me, then they both ran into the wall but they disappeared as soon as they could hit the wall.
How chilling! Shame you didn't have a video camera running at the time. Wonder who they were?
This was in the palm Court ballroom by the way;
I was there at new year and went on to the balcony for a last fag before bed and I seen a woman with such a sad face looking out the window she smiled at me and was wearing very old clothes then I realised that was the restaurant windows and no one would be in there at that time haha
Been to 'Tempsy' many a time, thanks for this very enjoyable and informative delve into it's past. The ghosts are the icing on the cake.👏
Thanks very much for your comment Mary, it is indeed well worth a visit, whether you see the ghosts or not 😀
York is spooky ❤ the ghosts of Yorkshire!!!😀👻🦇
The sound of your voice is hard to hear. Closer to mic? Too weak?
Sorry about that. It sounded alright to me and I haven't had any other comments about the audio. Thanks for your feedback though - I'll bear it in mind for the next video.
Learn Yorkshire!!!
nope
story gone
What? 😀
I think i saw you doing one of your tours last night. From what I saw and heard it looked great and we are certainly coming to one all the way from Malton haha what is the name of your walks please?
Thanks very much! It's the Ghost Keeper Tour of York and starts 7:30pm outside the Jorvik Viking Centre. I'll be running every night until Hallowe'en, then every Friday Saturday and Sunday up until Christmas. Book a place on 07947 325239. Hope to see you soon!
Hi
eebyek cravings for Yorkshire puddings with beef and gravy..tell em about the bloke who got Hung for hours theft who, was burred and dug himself out of the grave .then got taken back to York asizes .?
🎃 👻
I’ve worked at The Grand Hotel many times as a night porter, I’ve walked every inch of the building, sometimes by torch light. I never, heard or saw anything strange or weird.
I stayed in room 14 with my husband last year. I was woken in early hours to slamming doors. I then got woken up again to the sound of 1920s music. I guess some people are more sensitive to things.
Parks on double yellows and argues the toss about the law, either way both a pair of bellends
Beautiful English Rose, thank you for sharing some history and insight of this iconic monument
I’ve been here and I was in a hallway coming out a bedroom and I saw a white orb fly past (no camera) it should of been a really strong ghost it was as clear as day
Thanks for that - I'll pass it on to my Sister!
@@ghostkeeper1526we’re also going on the ghost walk! I’m excited

A curious and chilling tale!
Indeed - and probably quite unique! Thanks David.
when we were kids in the late 70's, we always called the pond in the garth. "The bottomless pond"
Perhaps it is? Who know what lies down there!
My DNA puts me in Cawood in the 15 th century Very cool thanks for making the video cuz
How intriguing. I had no idea that it was so precise! You're very welcome Kathleen.
Would be good to see a full ghost tour with people etc. maybe a live ghost tour? ❤
There is one story with a crowd present (020 The Minster Stonemason) but I fear that if I showed an entire ghost walk, I'd be giving away all my tour for free!
@@ghostkeeper1526 true but would get more views on here and more people wanting to experience it in real time for themselves. @@leahm5882 Thanks for the links. Those look like very different experiences to the one that I normally offer on the tour.
Thank you! I’m enjoying learning about the ghostly past (and present!) of the Doncaster area!
You're very welcome David. More to come from Brodsworth Hall in the near future!
That isn’t Tate hill pier. It’s east pier and west pier. Tate hill pier is the one in the harbour.
Thanks for the information. I'll pass the message on.
Happy Halloween! Great vid from Dracula’s very own haunts. Whitby must be the eeriest place at Halloween!
Thanks David. Yes, Whitby certainly vies for that title, although York also gives it a run for its money!
Pity the tale of the Apollo Cinema Club is no longer told, it's one of my favourites 😢
I do occasionally do this story if there are problems getting in at other story locations because of other groups being in the way. You never know - keep coming and you might get lucky one evening!
Poor old Piers. I will need to think verrrrry carefully about deciding whether to visit Scarborough Castle!!! Thank you for sharing another piece of Britain's brutal history.
very artistic presentation.
Thank you very much for the complementary comment - I'll pass that on to my Sister. She'll be very pleased.
I'm more interested in York's Roman history than its viking. To me the vikings were primitive
I'm interested in all of it myself! Having said that, the Romans had their share of primitive behaviour too. By the way: I wouldn't believe everything you see on those Viking dramas - some of the content is an abomination!
Haven't they roofed and refloored the keep since this video was made?
The video was shot last autumn - we haven't been there since. Not sure if they've done any work in the meantime?
I'm given to understand that they have, though I've never been there for years so I don't know for sure. Last time I went the keep was open to the elements and the cellar was not open to the public. As for ghosts, I don't think there are any there. I've certainly never seen or felt anything whenever I've visited.
I'm pretty sure something whispered in my ear during my stay!
Hope it was a prediction of some sort - lottery numbers, perhaps? 😉
What room were you staying in?
I had a brilliant tour with the best ghost keeper in the world.the whole way he would make jokes that would make me laugh I would definitely recommend him for your trip of York.
Thanks Harry - what a brilliant review! Hope you enjoy the rest of your visit. Shame you have to put up with Aidan though ;)
This is chillingly good. I have missed visiting the east coast during the pandemic but will need to be brave to go back to Scarborough now I know about these horrific occurrences.
Thanks David. You should be alright, as long as you eat plenty of fish and chips :D
I have been on his tour it's very spooky and very good Tomas
Thanks for creating this. So great to learn the eerie history of this familiar Donny landmark!
Glad you enjoyed it!
The hat just did it for me!!! A lovely spoken gentleman and I could happily listen to you every night!
What a nice thing to say! Thank you very much - glad you enjoyed it.
Hi I went in the ghost walk today and the guy showed me around hi sir loved the trip ☺️
Thanks for coming
Hi it’s me your bestie. 😁 (nostril girl🤣)
Ooh, I wonder if they've still got a copy of the book. I'd be wanting to look through it to try to work out what he was looking for!
...and that's how you get drawn in! Next thing, it'll be YOU saying: "I must find it... I must find it..."
Ooh, the Nun story reminds me a bit of Lynda la Plante's new book Unholy Murder in which a Nun's burial is unearthed - but there are scratches on the inside of the coffin lid - aarrgghh!
I've not heard of that one - shall have to look into it!
Utterly glorious, as always! 👻 Stay safe, Win :)
Thankyou for the stories earlier at half 7

I am so happy that you got your channel sorted (mine is also up and running)- apologies for my lateness in settling down to watch your videos! My parents are in York at the moment and set to go on your walk tonight - as per my suggestion. Happy ghost hunting!!! Stay safe, Win P.S.) I hope you remember me, but if not, your memory might be jogged a tad if I tell you that you still have a look of Derek Jacobi about your person. :)
Hello Win. Only just picked up your message. Will have to find a way of getting them directly (still figuring things out!). Yes, I definitely remember you!
@@ghostkeeper1526 Hello! Thank you so much for getting back to me and no worries at all! If you have a smartphone, you can download the UA-cam Studio app, which sorts your comments into one handy section. I don't preface that statement in such a way as to make age-based assumptions, not least because I am so 'low-tech' for my age that it is probably very painful to those around me. If we could go back to a simpler time, surrounded by books alone, I would be very happy indeed! Yay! I honestly don't think I will ever forget the lovely conversation we had (and I would wager that Robin won't either) and I mean it when I say that I greatly admire that which you do. It would be the ultimate guilty pleasure of mine to establish my own ghost walking venture: perhaps I could embark on such a thing in my retirement years, although I am fully aware that the official retirement age keeps going- up. Stay safe, thank you and I look forward to seeing what you do next, Win P.S.)
