YOU WON'T CARE ABOUT THIS PRINTING ERROR... 1993 Action Packed Hall of Fame #27 Bill Sharman
The 1993 Action Packed Hall of Fame basketball card set is like buying a book on basketball history. Bill Sharman is a name sometimes forgotten in discussions about shooting accuracy, but he retired with the league record in free throw percentage and, while playing, set a record for highest FT% in a season. And there's a funny printing error on this card where someone accidentally highlighted one character too far when making text bold!

EARLY "JAM SESSION" CARDS!!! 1992-93 Ultra #201 David Robinson, Jam Session
Переглядів 76День тому
When we think of NBA Jam Session, we think of the tallboy cards that Fleer started producing in '93-94. But an earlier appearance of the Jam Session logo is this subset at the beginning of Series II of 1992-93 Ultra basketball cards. Players were ranked on their literal dunks per game the previous season placing David Robinson as #1 and Michael Jordan as #16. Building a video collection one car...

They cover much of Chamberlain's career including him reaching the 30,000 point landmark, the moment commemorated on this card. But that point di...

The Topps 1996 NBA Stars historical set was a really fun way for young collectors to have a chance to pull NBA legends! Who would've thought we'd be searching for a Bob Cousy Atomic Refractor! Each of the NBA's 50 Greatest got three cards, and these Golden Season cards highlighted the players best season. The '90's Classic basketball card base sets were overprinted and are definitely what we call "junk wax." But there were some really fun insert sets that gave these sets life. These BCs, or bonus cards, are a very attractive design. And they contained a serial numbered Jason Kidd, numbered to 5,400. We also remember Yinka Dare, the 7' 1" center who didn't start playing basketball until much late...

Collector's Choice released their 1995-96 set in a variety of countries keeping basketball card collectors busy with the structural differences. Instead of a Series II, the International cards had a second set of cards numbered #1-200 and the order does not match the US cards. This Buck Williams is from what we call the German II cards. It's also a good reminder about how strong of a rebounder ...

    • @catalogedclutter7046
      @catalogedclutter7046 8 днів тому

      @@racerausch2571 It just depends so much on condition, so hard to say. If you just pulled it from the pack though, you have a better chance than most! But they printed so many of these...sometimes they sell for a bit above a dollar. But straight from the pack, I wouldn't let it go for less than $3. But if you really have a perfect one (perfect centering, no surface errors, perfect corners and borders) grading really increases the value. But I wouldn't risk it myself. You have to have a perfect PSA 10, they sell for at least $150. But PSA 9's only sell around $20, so you're barely covering the cost of grading. And it's really a gamble to get that PSA 10...they're grading harder than ever... Not sure if that helps. No matter what, I still think it's an awesome card to see straight from the pack.

      I don't have that Spud Webb! Wow, what an amazing photo. That's my dream to jump like that. I love how you can even see his shoes showing how much air must be beneath him. Makes a great pair with the Jordan in terms of photos. Can't afford a Jordan anymore, but would love that Spud Webb card!

      Thanks Jeff! The little pieces of history, totally! Things got unaffordable for me, but there's still a lot to enjoy. I tell the story about digging into my commons one day, seeing a Danny Ferry Collector's Choice card (as common as it gets) mentioning his career-high 32-point game. Searched UA-cam and had a great time watching the highlights. That showed me how much was really in my collection, even if most would call it junk wax.

    Advance grading? Might as well be in a toploader

    • @catalogedclutter7046
      @catalogedclutter7046 Місяць тому

      I agree, I didn't submit this one. I usually don't, costs too much for me. I got this in a large lot of many cards. But at the same time, I don't put too much faith in any grading. I wouldn't dismiss a card whether in a top loader or PSA/BGS...still prefer to see the card itself. Some of my collection still in 9-card plastic pages has stayed mint. But if you're looking to sell, I hear you. Has to be PSA or BGS, I personally like the SGC slabs though.

    Psa sucks they never recognize my error cards and I'm ot happy about that one they stink as card graders why they won't recognize my many baseball cards with the error on i don't know I have the F Face baseball and they didn't recognize it so I'm going to beckett to get them graded for now offeen

    • @catalogedclutter7046
      @catalogedclutter7046 2 місяці тому

      I hear you! Grading turned into a big business, all about how many cards they can get processed. I personally don't want to pay. I have a Vince Carter missing a serial number, Beckett graded that. Recently, I feel better just enjoying my collection in regular penny sleeves and top loaders. Sucks they won't recognize your baseball errors. If they did, it helps other collectors know about them.

    Maybe the hall of fame action packed was referring to was the college,or team hall of fame?

    • @catalogedclutter7046
      @catalogedclutter7046 2 місяці тому

      That's a good idea for this card, but the set was definitely for the Naismith Hall of Fame. The 25th Anniversary mentioned on the front was from when it opened its doors in 1968. And Action Packed had a close relationship with the Naismith Hall of Fame. When they went out of business, they gave a lot of basketball inventory to the Naismith Hall of Fame to distribute. There's an episode of pawn stars where the seller found a lot of these unreleased cards....but with Bird not being there at the time, maybe Action Packed could've pointed out an alternate HOF like you mentioned! Thanks for writing!

    What is the value

    • @catalogedclutter7046
      @catalogedclutter7046 2 місяці тому

      So hard to say with how grading is nowadays. All depends on condition and that grade. But this is one of my more valuable ones. My personal card, not graded, I wouldn't let it go for less than $40. But slabbed cards, I'd try to hold out for $80-$100 even for a PSA 8. For a PSA 9, maybe more like $160-$200. All just my opinion. I don't follow too closely because it's all outside of my price range!

      Not too much. Maybe about $1 for these. Especially mine in the video since the top border is pretty rough. Always depends on condition though. If you're lucky enough to find a mint PSA 10, I've seen those top $150.
