My favourite Josh Klinghoffer moment in RHCP (Stray in Time in the 80s)

2017 Meadows Festival. According to the rumours from back in the day, it might have been a B-side track of The Getaway, but that turned out not to be true.

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Soul to Squeeze (guitar cover)
awesome! how did you achieve that tone?
Thanks! All achieved in Guitar Rig 7. I used Marshall amp simulation, compressor, chorus effect and some reverb!
Nailed it!
Thx, bro!
Yo I have been watching your vids, and I saw that you used a Vintage and a Fender Player. I am also thinking to buy one of these guitars, how big of a difference are they to each other? BTW we have very similar music taste as I love RHCP and Chic so much.
@@chryed2905 Hey bro, thanks for the question! I think it really depends what are you looking for. When I was switching from Vintage to Fender, I was expecting a HUGE difference in tone quality, but to my ear it's not that big, and I was, dunno, kind of dissapointed (?). It might be because I primarily use a DAW, Ableton, and unfortunately I never tested this guitar on amp, like I should. Don't get me wrong, Fender still sounds good! It's just, for some reason, you'd expect more for this kind of money and Fender's reputation. However, in a store, Fender had a sexiest tone I heard, tho, and I was playing on amp, not a DAW. Fender is also lighter (Vintage is heavy af) and the fretboard feels much better. Vintage was not my guitar, but I played it for, like, 5 years, and I can say they produce decent instruments for this price. The quality is great. You should check Dave Simpson review of the Vintage v6. This guy knows a lot about RHCP and played Vintage a lot in the past. I can recommend you both, but if you will be playing on a computer, you can consider Vintage due to the above 😁
@@wojciechrybak3788 Yo thanks for the answer. I will consider your answer on choosing my guitar. In my country its really hard to compare different guitars as different brands are in different stores/distributors.
@@wojciechrybak3788 In your opinion which one should I get? The Squier CV 60s strat or the Vintage v6? as currently these guitars have the same price albeit the Squier costing a bit more.
Hey man, I never played Squier, however these days they have better reputation than Fender. It's a good quality guitar, and perhaps I would opt for Squier more? Tell me what you chose, I'm interested!
Why don't you just barre the D chord? That way you wont have to move the index finger very much.
Barre chords are awesome! However, I played this like Frusciante does. It's his style of gripping such chords.
@@wojciechrybak3788 I know, but I still don't get why you don't choose to barre the index finger. I mean that's easier for me at least.
Love the vox amp, love the satin finish... but what happened to the headstock.
Haha, sorry man! I'm too poor, I guess 😢
@@wojciechrybak3788 I also have a Squier. I can't afford a Fender. Why not embrace the logo rather than have someone believe it might not even be Squier? That's how I think at least. :p
@@Schitzor Squires are dope! I also think its not that important to have a Fender or any other big guitar brand name as majority of the tone, its pivotality, comes from the amp 😄
@@wojciechrybak3788 Nope. Tone is in the fingers. In how dynamic you play, in your phrasing, in how hard you press on the strings, how you bend the strings. The amp is just to help others hear it. Because yk... It amplifies the sound.
I agree, that's very important too! However, I am no specialost: I never had a chance to crank my amp to the extent I hear its specificity so I don't have much experience with this. Most of the time, I just use audio interface to play and record my guitar
There are much better bedroom licks, and you wont need a guitar for

Dzięki wielkie! ❤
This was excellent! Surprised it doesn't have more views... Love the little films you put in randomly between two chords sometimes
Thanks so much, I really appreciate your comment! Means a lot, it really does.
Get a new amp, this one sounds.. Not so great
tone horrendous
This was wicked keep training hard peace and love
👎
Thought it was a chord, that main riff is just one note. 😳
Holy shit dude can you please get a better mic/and or a better tone on your amp
perfect frusciante style playing,love it❤
Dude I had a box amp and it sucked sounds the same but awesome guitar play 👍
Ur tone sucks bro
Great cover fr, love what you got going on filling up between the break and the chorus.
Yeah, that was basically the idea - to somehow play it differently from other people! Let's be honest, UtB is always played in the same way, even by Fru himself Thanks for the comment, bro!
@@wojciechrybak3788 yeah , i hope I'll be able to improvise like it's done in the video. Again great work lol
Unrelated, but is your profile picture Neymar? Nice playing too
Yeah, that's him from Santos era! I was once a fan of him, and of football in general. Thanks, man!
I thought that the only way somebody could play this was on its knees, shirtless and in a pijama pants, but you proved me wrong XD Nice cover, bro!
Yeah, man, that's true! Also the cigarette behind the strings! Have to remember to do all these things for the next time XD
why are you wearing a shirt
Ihhhhhhhhhhh... Lá ele, fí.
gayzap
The sound from Masterpiece
The tone is impressive
Thank you! Means a lot
super good. especial considering you're playing with a dime as a pick lol
Nice cover
I love the addons
@@commiekiller Thank you, glad you like it! They are mostly improvised
The ol' dick cam!
Cool cover, what's the name of the amp?
Thanks! That's Vox VT20+
microwave square, did u hear it?
Beautiful!
Thank you, Sir!
its good but that tone seems like all strings will break hahaha good performance bro!
Thanks bro! I'm not quite satisfied with the tone either. It gives a hard-to-bear punch but, anyway, I still decided to upload it on the tube
Maybe turn te tone/treble down a bit, maybe it'll help a bit
@@meesmanovereinder1076 Agreed, too much treble could be the case. Thanks for the tip! Anyway, when I played and recorded the lick it sounded right. But now, and when I listen to the video, cringe gets me every time because of the crappy tone. And I honestly don't know why it has so many views. In my opinion that's not the best cover
@@wojciechrybak3788 maybe, but it is one of the best songs

Thank you so much!
Sounds good. Groovy! Keep it up
Thank you for the kind words!
