The original DS had a chassis that was made of really thin steel and was rust prone. I had a 1973 DS 23 with Bosch D Jetronic fuel injection. Repairing the rust damage took almost 3 years of working 12 to 20 hours every week. Fortunately the panels on the chassis can be made with only a guillotine and a bending machine. There are no complex curves. It was no dragster but it would do 190 km/h with ease and it was delightful to drive.
