Glad this came up would’ve been cooked at the race 😂
That's why I make them! Not all of us can preride it so a video is the next best thing. You can search my channel to see how other trails you've ridden look on gopro too to try and guage the features, it's actually surprisingly effective!
@@AustinSheidy for sure
Absolutely flying, well done 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I’ll be there this weekend! Course looks sick
It's probably the best it's been in like 5 years
Great job, especially going in blind. I always preride the trails as soon as they announce but I’m local and scared 😂
Man... No thanks on the racing, but those trails certainly look great to ride.
It was so much fun! Racing them blind was a little scary, but I got through it and had fun so that's all that matters!
Where was this at?
Frederick Watershed in Maryland I believe
Frederick Watershed, MD.
great video and awsome riding! What trail was at the 1:48 point in your video? I'm heading up tmrw..
Big Ash. Much bigger than it looks!
I live near killington
I also hate dombo but i love test of metal which is off of dombo so.....
I've yet to clear that, the lower section gets me
😮
Absolutely ripping. Glad you had a great time at MCPB.
First off excellent riding. You carry so much speed! I have a Megatower that originally had a Fox 36 and the flex was noticeable to me especially at rocky steep spots. I don't even weigh that much so it's rare for me to feel that kind of stuff. The Fox 38 is on a whole differen't level of stiff IMO.
Yeah I'm definitely considering going to back to a ZEB, I loved it on my Meta.
Haven’t been there in about 20 years. Looks nice. Powerhouse of a little place. Whatever happened to Plattekill? That was the real deal in early DH , late 90s big bike tech riding.
I've never been to Plattekill, I'm not exactly from the area.
@@AustinSheidy the original king of north east 99-2000 early DH technical riding. Really small one lift mountain at the time. The owner let locals cut whatever trails they wanted while the big corporate mountains were concerned about other factors and late to the game on the rise of the gravity element of MTB. Legend place for destroying equipment, brutal trails and loose shale rock on trails.
@@mobilewintercamp7515 is it still around?
@@AustinSheidy I have no idea that’s why I was asking if it’s still around. I don’t gravity ride anymore and my saddle time is not what it used to be. I’m wanting to step it up a bit and have been watching videos. I hear nothing about it. I wouldn’t be surprised if the mountain shut down completely considering the size and ski industry issues in the north east
@@mobilewintercamp7515 a quick Google search shows that they're still around for winter sports but no mtb.
I think you missed a double at the top of the ESC DH track! Other than that great work!
1 too 2 clicks lsc really helps with the jump trails fix that low feeling I went threw same thing with my lyrik 170mm went to zeb 180mm so epic fix what ur feeling faster u go better it feels
Nice riding, The Creek is the real deal, I stopped riding my trail bike at bike parks cuz it was getting trashed and got a DH bike. Now I can ride for a few weeks with a clean and chain oil, I find the wheels need to be trued ever month too but that if I’m riding several times a week. Heading east will be hitting all the parks on the East coast but The Creek is a must.
Creek is cool but there are others!! Check out Snowshoe, Bryce, Blue mountain, Killington, thunder, highland depending on where you're at.
Nice! A handful of my local friends I ride with were just up there. That trail they just used for the race course looks really fun, and long!
Goat Skull is sick! I wish I would've had time to hit it a few times.
Killington is my favorite bike park by far. The only park that is consistent with above average conditions and the variety is pretty unmatched.
My only complaint was that they were rebuilding the biggest jump line right in the middle of the season!
@@AustinSheidy ahhh damn, black magic? I appreciate they actually work on the trails throughout the season and don't just let them wither but that's a bummer
@@SkiRidesMTB yeah, definitely put a bit of a damper on the day.
not sure where else you ride but the maintenance at Killington is sub par for the flow trails. Last year was a joke and this year Blue Magic and Jump Start are a rock garden in mid August. Black Magic only in better shape since it opened so late
What bike are you riding , curious
Transition Sentinel V2. The full specs are linked in the description!
so fun
Creek is definitely sick.
You crushed Jump Start!
Thanks! We loved it. Probably rode it 8-10 times.
I went down a youtube rabbit hole of mountain bikers the other day.. i cant stop watching you guys are wild! i love it
Subscribe for more! I'm trying to post new content every Friday.
Great riding! Creek is my local Mtn, love it. The tech is what draws me there, and yeah, not a fan of Domboo! LOL
Super fun mountain for sure.
Gotta do cable trail and side show Bob! Keep the content coming. Looks like we ride the same areas man. Maybe ill run into you one day
Maybe! Definitely say hi if you recognize me out there! Always makes my day.
Did you get to hit upper and lower black magic. Just there a week ago middle was getting work done. Zero brake bumps and just awesome.
They had it closed! Biggest bummer of the trip honestly.
I think MT. Creek May have the best tech
It's pretty fun!
Shout out to your lady for getting up and just sending the drop right away after taking a fall. Love to see it. This place looks sick, I really wanna just do a walk week in Vermont sending all the insane trail systems.
Highly recommend! And yes, she's a beast haha
Kindom is fun, kinda tame tho
Good thing it wasn't Kingdom haha! We did end up hitting Blackbear on the last day of the trip, it was fun. Some of the best flow anywhere.
@AustinSheidy blackbear is a bike park trail in the woods and rude awakening is a good time
@@bikingwithbender I would say it's even better than bike park since it doesn't get beaten up so bad. Less traffic and low angle means almost no braking bumps.
Great video, I want to go soon but I see a lot of parking lots whebre do you park?
Best lot is the North Range Lot, MTB Access.
I love this place but the new trail crew needs to step up their game. Domboo is riddled with pits and braking bumps and rocks in all the wrong places, Alpine is too slippery, and the new lower greenhorn is just boring. The lower part of tempest is also not in great shape anymore. On super dry and sunny days I see people crashing left and right. At least black trails not touched by beginners are always smooth
Sounds kinda like your low speed compression is too low if you're sitting too low on flowy stuff.
I put 3 clicks into it yesterday and took the pressure back down and it felt so much better!! Thanks for the advice.
@@AustinSheidy Hell yeah, great riding as always.
Not trusting the berms on Domboo is an insanely smart call, haha. Worst trail at Creek, in my opinion. Trails just blown out and some of the berms jsut don’t work cause of how steep it is. Excellent riding brother, making it look like easy. Mad respect for sending the Road to Nowhere drop, that may be the sketchiest thing on the mountain lol Also, if you haven’t ridden Monarch before, definitely add it to the list when you go back, probably the most underrated/underused trail there. There’s also a little “secret” trail off to the side of Breakout’s lower section, too that’s been a blast to ride.
I personally love Domboo and I think the berms are very nice once you have ridden them a few times but I definitely see where your coming from
@@B_on_marin just personal preference, i think it comes down to there’s that or alpine to get down from where you are. Crap shoot and slayer are tough trails. So, domboo and alpine just get sooo blown out.
It's a lot of fun when the dirt is good and the braking bumps aren't too heavy. But on this specific day it was both rough and loose. It was a tough combo for me not being warmed up haha
love it man. Blessed to live ten minutes from here.
Once you hooked up with Jay, the gnar was shred for real!
How long are these enduros? I usually do 30 miles in about 2.5 hours but only 1000 total feet of elevation. Im dying to get into this.
Hey I’m going to do Pig Iron enduro this Sunday and wondering if I can put my tracker under hand up gloves and if it will read it like it does with your gloves cause that is a really good idea?
This is the most high quality channel I’ve found that rides trails near me
Where is this at??
How do you get back to the top after your done with a trail?
Pedal, usually.
@@AustinSheidywhere do you go to get to the top
2 options to get to top from bottom of big trails @@V1perMW
Yeah, you need a lot of speed for a-line there; made it look a lot easier than it is. Love the voiceover so we know what trail you are on/anything to keep an eye out for when we ride it. Really helpful channel for PA based riders; keep it up!
Thank you! It can be a little tough to keep creating content around here, there's only so much to ride. But I'm trying!
I will dig. Send me deets
That run on Boundary Trail!! Yeah boi!! That's one of my top 5 favorite trails. So good!! The Shed is so good too!! Great video sir. Have you ever been out to the trails at Jake's Rocks in Allegheny National Forest?
Thank you!! I have not been there yet. Do you think it would be up my alley?
Absolutely! Ursus is a must do. Similar to Boundary Trail but less rocks. Bald Eagle Trail, Blacksnake and Elijah Too would trails you would dig. They have and Enduro race there in August. It's not yet posted on Bikereg. Should be soon. My girlfriend and I are heading out there father's day weekend. I'm looking forward to that.
What trails are in the "sweet style" section? I went for first time today and got badly punished for parking in the wrong lot/not having a plan (ended with 1500ft gain and only two or three laps on jump trails).
The jump trail we did in the video is Jack o Diamonds. It's a long trail that includes a climb at the beginning and in the middle between 2 "sides" of the line.
Awesome runs. Great content. Gonna try and make my way down there from NY. Know of any good camping in the area?
Yes! Check out Cunningham Falls. About 15 minutes away, nice quiet spot.
Sick! What kind of settings do you use on your hero 4?
Lol!
That PA "coal dirt" looks crazy. Sick video dude, subbed👊
Definitely a different challenge, but it was fun!
9:30 😮
It's wild!
Trex is loose and fun when it's bone dry but after a rain, that place is mint. Great riding!
100%, hero dirt at Trex hits so hard🔥
Big fan of the Michelins so far
They're phenomenal. Only tires I want to run anymore. I've been on Maxxis on my new rig and they're not bad but they don't have the outright grip that the michelins do.
10:01 wow went down a cliff without shaking the camera
Hypersmooth is unbreakable!
