When I learned about MACV-SOG. I learned about Colonel Fleming. As a combat Vet, what this man did is beyond extraordinary. Col. Fleming is the very definition of the American fighting spirit, patriotism and humility. What a great soldier and American. Thank you sir.

I grew up in N Central Illinois on a pretty big "Family Farm", my uncles ran a crop dusting business with Piper Pawnee's and surplus Korean War Bell 47 (aka H-13), and my father was a USAAC Fighter Pilot in the pacific; that was how I learned to fly. We applied "Crop Dusting" tactics in Nam and it was very successful with fixed wing AT-28 Trojans and Huey "Gunships" for ground attack.

Too bad all of the footage of helicopters in flight are of US Army birds. I could be mistaken but I did not see on 20th SOS helicopter in the footage.

We never used the locked forward fire position for the miniguns. This defeated the purpose of having gunners and a pintle mount giving almost 180 deg. of lateral gun cover. Slicks were always armed in Nam. Hey Hornets, I was a gunner 70-72. Hoo-Rah!
