Major Woodcraft
Приєднався 7 сер 2022
Hi guys, I'm Nick Major. I've been around the trades for most of my life but really found my calling with carpentry. I make a living building fences and decks, but it's not just woodworking - Fabrication is also a key piece of what I do. Over time I've grown to enjoy working with metal just as much as wood.
Building is more than a job, it's a lifestyle. It's a way of thinking....so I spend my free time building other things.
------
I started my channel to share some in-depth tutorials about different processes. There's a ton of "life-hack" videos out there, and just as many time lapse videos of start-to-finish..... but sometimes it's hard to find content that breaks down a project step by step.
I want to share that with you and hopefully empower you with your own projects.
If my videos have helped you guys, It'd be great if you dropped a little tip to me on venmo @major-woodcraft

How do you get so many self-aid kits?
Tree of patience for single aid 😉
what is your max in gbg?
Around 210 titan vs titan
Inno is missing it. The biggest nerf they did to AH is adding random new upgrade kits. Notifications disabled, not opening AH again 😅
AH?
@@majorwoodcraft9736 Action House, but meant Antique Dealer
@edhahaz oh gotcha haha. Yeah, dealer is pretty underwhelming overall. Only thing I look for is consumables like store kits, one up, supply boost, etc. ....... and cherry sets. Don't judge me 😅 I still collect them haha
Hello there! I have updated my city with your suggestions and boy is it looking good except for my design :) I somehow lost you as a friend. I must of been reorganizing and deleted you by mistake. Will you please send me a friend request? I don't remember your handle and can't find you :(
For some reason answering on your answer under my original comment resulted in yt not posting it twice so gonna try a regular comment again. Would love to join ur discord, the link seems to have ran out tho.
Good update on your town. Does take a while to set one self up to move forwards.
Extremely tedious man. I've actually been dumping all of my fsp kits on the ecto 1x2 for store kits. Made a few blunders in the process but overall pretty fluid. Just time consuming. How's yours coming along these days?
@@majorwoodcraft9736 about the same 🤣. From what I calculated out with what I believe the game going and waiting till I have all my goods and FP banked for my Titans to be at lv 80🤔 I'm looking at around September next year 🤣🤣🤣.
@@Mark_Milton just in time for everything to become outdated
@@majorwoodcraft9736 that's why I'm aiming not completely but for the buildings I felt that are more stable. Which now have become known as the platinum upgrades.
@@Mark_Miltonsmart man
Aren't you worried about when GbG blue stat update comes around? I see so many ppl focus only on red boost because they are all about GbG. But once that update goes live all those cities are gonna have major struggles.
100% true and great question. My gbg blue is at 5300/8300 currently which isn't a world record by any means but still pretty healthy. I have a few more jesters in storage to replace another group of gators and better balance red/blue if needed. In general I try not to make preemptive city changes - only the ABILITY to make them quickly when needed. Example: SASH fighting prefers heavy units (I've heard). So I'm stockpiling sheep shire kits as well. But heavy units are terrible in titan, so there's no reason to plant sheep shire prematurely Same philosophy with red/blue balance.
@@Zorrolord with more and more buildings coming out. The transition won't be as difficult. Doubt Inno would want to lose more players. So they'll give out buildings with what is needed. Plus with having high red Atk stats you can build GBs that give you and defense stats that will be needed.
@@majorwoodcraft9736 Gotcha, I am prepping my city in a similar style just not for combat but for farming massive ammounts of FP and when I need to change to combat I got combat buildings on end stored. I am aiming for 50+ Eco Hubs atm. Also got 8/10 Forgotten Temples for the big FP boom. Will use all my FASPs once I am fully ready.
Awesome project. Screen record it when you do please, I'd love to watch. I didn't get evergreen level 3 so eco city is kinda out of the question for me sadly
@@majorwoodcraft9736 did you get any level of it. Cause even if you got a lv 1 or 2 you can still get them.
With that many FP's per day, what do you do with them? There is just so much you can invest in other players GB's and your own GB's.
Feta, cider, aerial have been more efficient than big buildings for months now and I kind of dislike it cause, playing the most efficient way they would just 100% takeover your city.
That doesn't sound like a bad thing haha. Part of the reason I prioritize fsp kits - to print those 2x2 and 3x2 powerhouses quickly
but... why do you like that much feta? I mean is good but is it good to have like 100 of them?
almost all good roadless cost population, if u want to save on that feta's are a good solution. Plus he has a lot of buildings producing red defence, so feta's keep that in balance
@@bracolla yeah for sure in terms of popolation costs buildings, feta is one of the best options. I have a lot of edens and markets from Ecos and it's starting to struggle with population
@@bracolla nailed it. Have 85k available population currently. Going to add 12 more airships (48k) and 2 more green gardens (18k). Leaves just under 20k available which is cutting it pretty close lol.
@@sonzo4641 exactly.
@@majorwoodcraft9736 I have a question, how many pumpkins do you keep? cuz they're so useful in doing rivals, I believe having 15/20 of them is super huge but especially the elite ones consume 10k+ pop which is a lot. How do you manage it?
Nice job man! I watched a few of your FoE videos and didn't know you were a carpenter too. I've been a carpenter for over 20 years and would've done the exact same things you did to fix those stairs!
Haha! Thanks for checking it out. Once you become a builder, it never goes away 😎

What if your city was filled with a lot of 4x4 buildings? I am still not sure if it is best to just all put them along a road since that means it is 4 roads per building and then 8 in a turn. Then again there is usually not enough filler stuff to make a zig zag layout for the 4x4 buildings. So how do you think about them?
"Not enough filler" is 100% correct. And even if you DID have enough filler, there's potentially 2x2 or 2x3 packed inside nub corners where you're touching 3 sides of a gator in order to save 3 connections on an soa. 1x1 stuff is really The only filler that works with 4x4. That would be pretty efficient actually, but the tradeoff there is production/military stats with an excessive amount of 1x1. So if you have a handful of 4x4, sure pair them with some 4x5 in a nub group. But if you've got 30 soa buildings, just run them in a continuous row. My opinion
The change was totally unrelated to you and you making that "many" points. It is just that they thought that the 2ndary buildings of GbG towers like the thunderdrake catapult builders and beeing able to spam produce them is too op. Nobody really knows why they did it with the QI Colossus but it is speculated they did it because that also produces a side building. However other ppl have made 50k FP / day with eco hub cities and that is apparently fine to do so.... Got nothing to do with player points, it is just really related to the side building spam because that makes them less cash if the best buildings available currently can just be printed by players.
hey dude, i dont get the exact reason why you want so many feta's, i my opinion there are much better alternatives, as in this event you can get cidergardens, and they are better in terms of %, and gives units... and maybe even the airships that you are farming already?
Good question man, thanks! Few reasons for feta/jesters. #1 - feta and jester are both extremely efficient for goods. Some of the best in the game for buildings that can be replicated. Gator/rune are slightly more efficient but also huge population drain. So their goods efficiency is kind of canceled out by the larger [mediocre] buildings they're paired with. My gbg attack is around 8200/8800. Which is plenty usually. Goods are slightly more important - and also the ability to level up Saturn gb faster if I do need more attack. #2 - airships are excellent and super efficient on FP. after I'm done printing feta, I'll replace the Aegean resorts with airships. Cider doesn't really appeal to me (even though it's pop neutral). I have 107 of them stored. Don't use the troops and they don't produce goods. #3 - feta is ultimately kind of a placeholder for QI and gbg buildings that take longer to generate. But also population neutral. So I don't have to rebalance population to add more colossus. #4 - fp efficiency isn't a huge priority to me. I generate 12 fsp kits daily (7 from jester alone). If I need the fp, I can use those 12fsp on eco for around 1850fp.
PS..... I just posted part 2 of this topic. Goes a little more in depth with feta strategy.
Another fantastic video. Thanks

Zeus, CdM, ecc are bad rn but theey could be reworked as GBs now are kinda useless with few exceptions. That's the reeason why I'm not deleting them (Basil, Kraken, temple) ... that would be a huge forge points waste...
I 99% agree. Some of the older buildings like sbc, coa, etc are so cheap to level that if you deleted and replanted a year later, you would only need 40fp x365 days from that location to break even. 3 alligators basically. Coa 0-60 @ 1.96x is 11,470 to pl. 31fp per day for a year. Orrey puts out the exact same, 4 squares smaller. You would produce 51k goods in the process. Just something to consider 👍
Zeus is justifiable to me simply because it's so small.
You do some shit. 1)Do it on PC if you have 2) Use foe helper. 3) Connect biggest buildings near town hall. 4)Small buildings in middle. 5)Connect 1x1 road needed buildings moving 3x2 and 2x2 further from the road. 6)Use only small side of buildings. I have 118.6% of roads efficiency
You should watch the whole video. First part is breaking down common inefficiencies. 2nd part is how to maximize efficiency. I have 124% currently - but thanks for the suggestion 😉
I started redoing my city like this and then realized that about 60 percent of my 2×2s and 3×3s don't need roads.

101% is awesome!! Great job!! Interesting question. I'll make my next video on that topic. Every city is different, but I'll explain the buildings I've picked (and why)
How Eco Sanctum is good? You plan build more?
Eco is great for bg collections. The 3% fp boost is nice. But doesn't apply to every building. Check ubernerds breakdown on that. I won't be planting more though. 2 is plenty for my city.

Last time u said that you dont have an Alca and that u get your troops from airships. How do u get Rogues though?
@@snakemaster_lp8417 gbg mainly. Himeji also gives out about 20 daily. Racoon hideout and original cider garden also give rogues, but I removed both of those from my city. Rogues are somewhat usable in titan, but not to the extent as previous eras. So the 25,000 rogues I've accumulated is plenty 😉
This isn't a criticism but as a feta cheese lover. The pronunciation is Fet like let or met. Then ah. I know it's spelled similar to beta, which is how you have been saying it. But it's pronounced like Meta. On a separate note have you attempted the step road settup? Couldn't get it to work in my city too many larger buildings.
Great input, thanks lol. Step pattern ? Curious. Share info please
Came to the same style of thinking when it comes to making your town interchangeable, definitely needed and less stressful. Done something similar with rows down the left-hand side and one column at the end of the row's. Leaving the top part with my GBs and all my non-road buildings mostly on the far right-hand side behind my 6 by 4s & 6 by 3s that run down the side if my column. Found this way i can place in all types of buildings without having any problems at all. Unless Inno comes out with some wacky shape's but let's hope not 🤣. Thanks again for doing these vids and again will be passing on your link to my world.
When I was playing about with your method. Will say my eyes lit up with the number of 2 by 3s and 6 by 4s that were able to be placed. I then doubled it below and tried adding my 7 by 3s and 6 by 4s. Wasn't neat but nearly worked, will try with my 4 by 4s and 4 by 5s instead. Guess my next question is. When you've helped other player's with they're towns did any of them have more larger buildings from events than smaller buildings like the 2 by 3s and 2 by 2s. Because found that I didn't have enough ones that didn't need road access, even though you could place them.
Sweet! Sound like it helped. Shoot me some before and after photos on discord .... I'd love to check it out. And yes. Some of the redesigns I've done had primarily 3x3 or 4x4 older buildings. Minimal 2x2 or 2x3 to use a "nub pattern" You can use the same template and use the main nub group for largest buildings. 4x4, 5x5, etc. Run 3x3 stuff in a continuous group in the bottom. It won't decrease your efficiency- but you will end up with more roads. Having a bunch of roads isn't necessarily a bad thing. Its justified As long as you have quality road buildings and they're connected efficiently
Just to put it in perspective, I use around 250 roads and hit 120% consistently ... regardless of building changes. Some of my teammates/friends hover around the same % but with only 100 roads. Fewer roads = more buildings, so the goal is to accumulate more roadless stuff. But work with what ya got 😉
Passed on the link of your videos to player's in my world. Thanks for doing these.
I don't comment often on videos but man... Both your video on the city layout and the fragments gave me a fully new perspective on the game, thanks for that! 🎉 Been coming to the fragment conclusion slowly myself but never realized the impact that gives to be among the top players. Your videos gave me all I need to completely shift focus now

Also notice you deleted your autumn vineyards. Fall event has upgrades for the vineyard, the shroom throne, granny apple tree, cider gardens and the pumpkins. To recreate the same fragment making we used last time. Ill need to compare the upgraded cider garden vs the airship but as the 2 are already pretty close im guessing the new cider garden will be better.
Nice, also great info! I'm excited to see the upgrades! I still have 9 vineyards in storage. Along with 50ish granny trees...... I rarely DELETE anything
@@majorwoodcraft9736 yes poor choice of words on my part. I should have expected you stored them.
@jamesreese4170 yes, stored. But I don't liquidate to dealer either.
The achieving 1% in events is very server specific. The newer servers tend to have more big spenders vs older servers. There is 0% chance of finishing in the top 1% without spending several thousand diamonds in C2, D2 and E2.
Ah, good info! Still..... Silver and bronze league frequently give less powerful versions of the 1% building. Evergreen express level 1 gives 5 fragments for eco selection kit. So more time consuming to print additional buildings, but still achievable 😉
@@majorwoodcraft9736 current 1% cutoff in C2 is at 5,047 (this is actually comparable to older servers looks like some of the spenders moved to E2) D2 is 5,559 and the newest server E2 is at 8,274....lol.
@jamesreese4170 qunrir cutoff is 5729. Im sitting in middle of silver with 4300 ish. Minimal diamonds
This right here, i managed to maintain Silver with at least a 700 point lead the entire event just to find myself gettin bronze once the event was over.
Hello! One thing I learnt after playing FoE for 8 years, is that the biggest buildings should always be put at the limits of the city, starting from buildings with a size of 5x5 or even 4x5/5x4 , those ones must always be connected with only 1 road if possible and left the 4x4 ones to 1x1 from those new limits created with the hugest zises, to the center.
That's a great rule of thumb.... I touched on that in the video..... but it's not foolproof. This system is 120% efficiency in titan era.
Yee 1. fragments 1.a. Fragments of FSP 1.b. Fragments of Wyverntide smithy until I have 20-30 to do rival prod quests easily 1.c. Fragments of metro station to have more fragments of ethereal airship to eventually replace Alcatraz 1.d. The rest of fragments
Love that breakdown. Spot on!
I disagree with the smiths bc yo can get jumping pumpkins more easily and you can produce more of the frags
