    Making my first gluten free loaf right now

  • @SuzanneWho

    I just made my first loaf in my Neretva. I set it on French cause I just wanted the plainest loaf. It came out great. I did add 1/4 tsp of water as it was mixing cause it looked and felt a little dry. That made the dough pull cleanly away from the sides. I put the crust on medium and it looked perfect. The only thing that was a problem was my slicing LOL. The smaller loaf is the better size for me - don’t need a lot of bread. Very happy with this bread maker - it’s small and efficient. I expected my first loaf to be just an experiment, but it was great. BTW, I weighed the flour and water and I had a fresh jar of yeast. The next project is a plum bread recipe from my old DAK machine.

    I am confused on my dough setting. It only goes for 45 minutes. In my experience with other bread machines, it is usually a lot longer. Looks like you figured out a longer setting. Is there a step or setting I am missing?

    • @riahtries
      @riahtries 2 місяці тому

      do you mean the specific mixing setting? do you still have your instruction book? it should tell you how long it does each step of the preset process (mixing, resting, kneading, rising, etc). you can always use the #20 option to make the exact process you want, to program each stage of the process.

    The Shables in York used to be a lovely place to visit with interesting shops selling a variety of goods. It's now full of tacky tourist shops selling cheap nasty Harry Potter plastic wands and wizard hats. Many of these siites have a rich, interesting history so sad that they are only seen by some people as a film location

      Hi John! We actually spent over a week in the UK visiting a lot of sites and learning about their history and current state, it was awesome to see and learn so much from my heritage. This was just a fun highlight video of some specific harry potter sites we happened to visit in between all of that. i couldn't finish a video of everything we did on time to keep up with my release schedule. thanks for watching.

    • @old.not.too.grumpy.
      @old.not.too.grumpy. 3 місяці тому

      @riahtries maybe so, but many people agree that there is a definite overkill on Harry Potter. The Shambles in York being the prime example. There is also a tendency, particularly with American visitors, to say that any gothic or medieval building looks like it's from Harry Potter. Support for JK Rowling is also divided due to her political views, with many younger people turning against her. The popularity of her book could be effected

    • @riahtries
      @riahtries 3 місяці тому

      I'm confused why you're upset by my video existing if I didn't do any of the things you're complaining about, like visiting the shambles or misidentifying buildings? I did very specific harry potter locations and experiences. i don't bring politics into my channel. nothing could exist in this world if we were unable to separate products from their creators, especially art. regardless, it seems like maybe this video wasn't for you, and that's okay! there's a lot of other content out there that I'm sure you'll find enjoyable.

    Always love to see these vids. Some comments though… 1. It seems you are getting things others say you need as opposed to taking into account your skills, purpose, environment, purpose, etc. 2. Skills trump gear. Make sure you and your husband understand key skills like first aid (stop the bleed, cpr, etc.), fire (starting/stopping), purifying water, knots, navigation, etc. 3. Use all of your gear before any emergency. 4. Weight matters. Keep that in mind. 5. Be realistic in everything. 😮 I posted some videos on these types of things. Check them out. I’m not dogging anything you have here. Just trying to help. The reason I started my channel is to help folks. It’s a community not a competition. I’m not sure I’ll do more videos as my last video was super important (stop the bleed) but only got like 2 dozen views. Why spend so much time when no one is listening? Anyway, I applaud all you’re doing and am only trying to help. I hope it’s taken in that vein and hope my videos help in some way. Take care.

    • @riahtries
      @riahtries 11 місяців тому

      Thanks for the advice. I thought through many emergency scenarios before making a list of what I felt would be valuable and usable by myself or my husband, I didn't go off what anyone else said I would need. I also mentioned that I would be practicing with all of this gear this summer and tested the weight of the pack multiple times. Good luck with your channel.

    Hi there! I started figure skating this year as an adult as well. I know they can be a bit pricy, but I would recommend getting your own skates as soon as you are able. I started on rentals and definitely did make progress, but once I got my own skates my progress became exponential. I’m now doing jumps and turns that I definitely wasn’t before, and skills like crossovers are SO much easier. It’s definitely an investment, but I think you end up saving money in the long run because you can improve so much faster during your lessons. I hope you continue to enjoy figure skating and make loads of progress! : )

    • @LolaBalletAndFigureSkate
      @LolaBalletAndFigureSkate Рік тому

      I wholeheartedly agree about buying your own skates. I had gone ice skating many years ago wearing rentals and the experience was scarier than it was fun. Deciding to start learning figure skating, I got an amazing private coach, I also take group lessons but my first investment in the sport was to get myself a nice pair of figure skates, before I even started the coaching sessions. I spoke with my then future coach, she pointed me to our nearest Edea official dealer and I went in person to get professionally fitted. I'm a skier, used to very stiff ski boots, so I was advised to purchase Edea Concerto, which I did. Not cheap at all, quite expensive, but since I first stepped on the ice for my first lesson, I didn't have the fear I had had previously, being completely unbalanced wearing skates that didn't fit me properly, with a blade that wasn't custom mounted for me. Now I can just concentrate in practicing the elements my coaches teach me over and over and I am thrilled to see my progress. I think Riah is really talented, did an awesome job in 6 weeks and when she has her own skates her progress will be even quicker and awesome!!
