Mother Black bear and 2 cubs at Magarite Creek near Traitor's Cove, north of Ketchikan, Alaska. One cub injured from attack the night before by (assumed) adult male bear. 7 Aug 2013. Water level low due to drought. As a result salmon are staying in Cove and not migrating upstream.

Attempt by Steve Minaglia, Scott Harvey and Craig Coombs to swim from Molokai to Lanai on 12 May 2012. Much rougher than Pailolo Channel swim. Do not watch on large monitor if you're prone to motion sickness. Sorry, no whales this time.

A video of the attempt of Craig Coombs, Steve Minaglia & Scott Harvey to swim from Maui to Molokai in the Hawaiian Islands. Includes great Humpback whale footage. Paddle boarding support and videography by Blair Norris. Steve is a member of the Waikiki Swim Club.
Congratulations on making it across the Straits and joining a very exclusive club, I like to think that I have a bit of determination and stamina but this is on another level to anything I could ever achieve, I hope you enjoyed a good meal and few beers afterwards you deserved it, well done.
Congrats on your accomplishment. Nice Swim. I also swam this channel in August of 2005 in 3:38 Very cool that you had humpbacks join you.
