This channel is mainly for chainsaw related content. It all started from my woodworking hobby where I quickly realized that I wanted to slab and mill my own lumber. From there it was the start of a chainsaw addiction and love for modifying them..... Man must modify right? I will post vids on saws that I've ported as well as any other saws in my arsenal, may be cookie cutting to test speed and compare saws and may also include slabbing logs with the alaskan mill. Hope you enjoy and maybe find inspiration or learn something from it all!

I like my g660
I built a ms660 kit also and. Ported it but still needs more muffler mod.... I only opened the stock hole a bit. It's going to get an additional outlet.
Wow! What’s the plan with the slabs?
The owner wanted to keep them.

Great video and thanks for sharing.
I have just bought a dremel and there kit love it first time I ever sharpen a chain just left a little bur it is semi chisel so put a pointed stone in took the bur off I can't wait for it go blunt again 😂😂
Where did you get the carbon clutch cover?
Ordered from farmertec website
That 044 has a good sound to it. Seems to pull good rpm in the cut as well, have you been into this saw and ported it yet?
Yes it's ported.... But the farmertec cylinder has a high roof to start with so sitting at 98 atdc now.... I would like to cut the Squish band and base to drop this to 101/102 for a bit more torque.... Currently runs good keep up rpm in small wood but if you ran a 28 on it... Even the 24 that it wearing in vid would bog with a bit of pressure on the dawgs... Like every saw tho... U got to find it's sweet spot where it makes its power and use a sharp chain and it will do just fine! I ordered a Squish cutting mandrel from dyno joe... So once I get that I will be experimenting with machine work.... Have a buddy with a lathe so will cut pistons/cylinder bases as required.
@@jarrodskeete52that’s great that you have access to the correct tools! I know I mentioned that I was going to use 3m90 and sandpaper on an old piston. That worked out pretty well, I moved the squish band .015 like that, BUT I did leave a small round over in the corner to the cylinder wall. I had to break over the piston a little to accommodate. Tthen dropped squish to .022 that moved my exhaust from 94 to 97/98* Tried filming it, actually filming the entire build. We will see if it works out. I can’t wait to see your 044 with more exhaust roof in it. Great luck to you and keep posting.
That’s a shop set up to be proud of! hell yeah, throw in some knife and wood working stuff. A lot of us out here are Makers, not just gear heads that love a good running two stroke.
Absolutely stunning, hard or soft wood? Furniture, or construction, what will you or have you done with this lumber? Nice mill.
Definately hard wood.... Probably similar to dried oak or harder.... This was milled for a friend.... He used it for countertop in kitchen....go into my community tab and see the photos
@@jarrodskeete52will do! Thank you, it looked like a mertel, but not sure if it grows in your area. Edit: came back here after your community page, you post/make some great stuff, thanks for sharing, new sub.
11 months in, how is this one running? Do you use it as a tool, such as for bucking for firewood? 440 is up soon in my build list.
It's working well but doesn't see alot of use.... Mostly a play saw for Now......i ordered a Squish cutting mandrel so may go back in to cut Squish and lower the exhaust roof.... Set at 98 stock so not as torquey as I want.... I think with more compression and a 102 roof will pull better
@@jarrodskeete52I’m getting ready to try out cutting squish band on a 42.5mm ms250 clamshell motor by using 3M90 and sand paper on an old piston, the eBay cylinders on these have .047 squish and an exhaust roof of ~92, way too high. Have managed to lower squish in the clamshell by cutting the bearing and seal pockets, now I want to go a step further and “fix” the exhaust timing, then drop it further. I don’t know why they cast these with such high roofs. Best of luck to you, hope to see updates here. Like I said, I’m looking to build a 440/460 hybrid for this coming year.
Does not sound right
Were any modifications needed to make thw BB kit fit the 440 frame?
Nope... Its a direct bolt on
I’m not sure if he needs a longer bar or smaller wood.? I’m gonna go with a longer bar…
Lol... Yeh I know.. But ya roll. With what ya got.... Was just breaking in in small stuff.... Have since put that bar with full Comp chain burried into hardwood and seems to pull OK...
Those 372s are a good bang for your buck
Yes sir, I think so.... And so easy to work on Compared to the Stihls! Can't wait also to get into the G395! Thanks for watching!

I was running this saw for about 2 hours at about a 30-50% duty cycle ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxfQm1wmg0ItKDLavxj1nXtQY9HP7EF504 and it did a great job. I used the lever for the built in sharpener to clear chip buildup out more than to actually sharpen the chain. It managed to cut some hardwood stumps much larger than it's size without bothering the neighbors with hours of 2 stroke noise.

Junk will not hold up. Cheap parts
Nice 1201!!! Don't see too many of those! I like your shop sir. Nice set up.
Nice job, noth'n fancy but she will cut good. I rarely file the rakers, only if my saw stops biting which rarely I'd an issue, I prefer a taller raker for better control of the cut. Good job sir..
Thanks for sharing, congratulations on the video. What brand of lime?

Nice point of view

Great lesson on sharpening chains! I'm the founder of EzzDoo, which makes sharpeners. How do I contact you to ask you questions?😃
Its called sawchain, mr expert.
I like the tooth filing! You did really nice job there but The raker gauge that you are using it will turn your chain to cut crooked and eventually will produce only dust by the middle of the chain and back! Update to a progressive debt gauge for more consistency of tooth bites!
Thanks! What progressive gauge are you referring to.. Do you have a particular brand?

Thanks! Didnt really run it stock so cant compare but I can bury that 20inch bar into mahogany so its pretty ok
@@jarrodskeete52 yea seems like you dropped the exhaust a little?
@@cajun3197 Im sure it timed at 105 stock with the gasket delete....after I cleaned up the port a bit it came up to 104.
@@jarrodskeete52 good job not raising it. Power killer
Nice crisp throttle response 👍🏽
Definately crisp.....I plan to go back into that one... have you ever done a 576xp?....I think the airbox needs to breathe!
@@jarrodskeete52 nah It’s not a real popular one. Most people complain about the weight but it seems to be very durable
I wouldn’t have a problem modifying one if given the opportunity. I’ve done repairs on one and it seemed to be very abused but only had minor repairs needed
@@cajun3197 ye for sure seem durable..... I got this as a not working saw from dealer.... Owner straight gassed it so they changed cylinder/Piston and could never get it running right.... So when I got it I pulled the cyclinder and to my amazement they had the Piston on backwards! So swapped that around and she's perfect.... I swear.... The techs in some of these places!

Thanks man...your saw is what inspired me!...i just need a lathe....these cylinders stock have the ex port too high...98....wish it was at least 100 or 101......one of these days!
Wow
Good👍🏾
I had a saw sharpening business for years and NEVER once did I ever have to touch the rakers, it's BULLCRAP
You can get away with afew light sharpening without touching rakers but you will notice smaller chips each time.... It Will get to a point where the tooth is reduced to same Level or just above the raker where you just produce sawdust and not chips.... Just the physics of it.
You are correct, to an extent. How far do you utilize your chain? Once you reach a certain point, it's a must to adjust the depth gauges in order to maintain proper performance at it fullest.
In that case I wouldn’t want to use your business
Nixe video . Gotta love a fresh file . Takes minimal time to sharpen a chain
Yes sir..... Love a fresh file.... Hardly any pressure and u can watch the steel dissappear!
Looks like the 440 bb will do the work of a 460. Nice resonance from the combo port and muffler work.
I'm sure it will..... After a tank or two I will lean her out and let it rip! Thanks for commenting
Nice. I built the 660 farmertec. The 440 is next. These things are a lot of fun to put together.
