I always tell people my first RPG experience was Monopoly. Depending on the properties I got is start to develop a personality like slumlord, rail road tycoon, and such with funny accents and different personality traits. Then Heroes Quest. Then finally found friends that did real RPG games like palladium, D&D, Shadow Run, GURPs. WOD, and others. I can turn anything into a RPG. Lol

I've only talked to a few of the palladium artist and writers at the Cons but i do believe they all share Kevin's enthusiasm for their work. Talking to them at the shows pretty much is like listening to these interviews. Love it.

That's why the three headed dragon on the cover of 1st edition Palladium Fantasy got turned into Triumvirate Dragon. I asked if it was just art back in 2017 and I said that can't be. The art told a story. So collaborated with Kevin and ot became an official Palladium creature in Rifter #71.

Awesome episode! I want to echo what NPC said about “Tales From the Chi-Town Burbs.” That book really brought the Burbs to life for me. Would love more Rifts fiction!

Mini smart missiles barage from miles out. Rarely do my Rifts combats get into hand to hand. The world is a dangerous place. Limit supplies. Limit communication because all communication can be hijacked. Limit societal contracts, survival of the fittest when danger rears its haed.

I think too much focus on Gods and not enough about their Avatars, envoys, messengers, demigods, and elevated petitioners. I didn't like bypassing the entire chain of command every time. Develops the world and everything in it. I don't need to storm into the white house every time i have a problem. I can talk to any number of people along the chain of command along the way and i believe this will make Gods more awe inspiring and utilize the underutilized all ready in most systems. Use the spirits at the small shrines and bones or curses instead of Gods. Start small and work your way up. Lol

I was an extremely introverted lonely kid growing up. I didn't have many friends and none played RPGs. Somehow I got my hands on a 2nd ed players handbook and I knew what I wanted to do but had no groups. So since no one could teach me how to game i started game designing 10+ years before I ever got invited to game. I would try to design game mechanics to emulate AD&D, computer, and Nintendo games I played.

I've actually always played it that not only is Rifts Earth a mega nexus where all sorts of Dbees and such are coming in, I've also had other world being sucked in adding to the landmass more than subtracting from it. Solves most of your distancing problems, makes communication and travel more problematic, and adds more territories to explore without plane hoping and dealing with altered rulesets.

According to prosthetics you only lose the physical sensations. You should still feel emotions and such like normal since those are in the flesh brain you have. Over a long time these may fade but usually people are playing anewb borge. Phantom physical sensations might still be present.

I use what icall the Star Wars technology paradox. Somewhere in the past too much wireless connectivity lead to AI trying to take over the universe and to much hacking so societies purposely limit the amount of connectivity so it never happens again.

When you keep population illiterate and sheltered you can control them. Most coalition aren't bad evil people even in the military. They just know what they're told and haven't seen otherwise in their career that hasn't been bent. Usually you can show them and they start to change towards more compassionate people. Knowledge is power and fear is a strong motivator for isolationalism. That's how i play them and it works great. Most of my coalition PCs defect.

We always did it everyone got 1 action then it went to the next person rotating till no one had actions left. You might have more attacks but you'll be spending the extra at the end of the round. People with paired weapons could theoretically get 2 off between the there peoples attacks.

Hate to break it to you or sound like a D&D fan boy, but most spells in D&D actually aren't combat even for 3, 3.5, and Pathfinder. 4th dedicatedly and 5th i would say yes with my limited experience, but a lot of books have come out since. I find it depends on the players and GM of those utilitarian spells get used or are important

Wearing body armor does make one worse in most things than not wearing it. That know would do better on the course 100% of the time without the armor. Just because your used to it doesn't mean it no longer becomes cumbersome. I was in the military and wrote several types of gear, body armor, environmental protection gear. I and everyone else was always worse doing activities while wearing layers of stuff. It's just a standard fact. They put this into the system to represent how other characters in the game might be better than you because they're not encumbered by weight and limited mobility. Trust me, if you look past your reservations it makes perfect sense. I agree boxing OP in palladium. Lol

I don't have any issues with shoes in any of my D&D games. Because it's so streamlined it's generally easier than most. Palladium can take awhile because there is active defense instead of static defense. I think of you really look into it you'll find it's player attentiveness and skill level which makes most of the difference.

Totally disagree with no balance being good. I don't care for overtly balanced, but their should be something other than Cosmo Knight traveling with a peasant. For a1 shot drinking game, sure, but not for a campaign. I just talk to my players and talk to them about the power level they want to group with. I try to balance players a much as i can. Every unbalanced palladium game I've ever seen or listen to for apod hasn't lasted long from encounters straight up killing of weaker characters while not walking the sleeping dragon to players just feeling left out cause they're toddler raving Nascar professionals.

I always loved playing the Armorer Veritech, just a ton of missiles. However, after buying the box set and watching the cartoons, I hated everything about Southern Cross, that Dana Sterling character is so annoying. And then I watch the Invid Invasion and became so annoyed by the fact there are millions of Invid and this band of adventures somehow keep replenishing their missiles that I swore off Robotech. I will say when I was really big into the RPG I made my own Destroids based on the Shogun Warriors.
