We are a new church in Sanford, NC, proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ and His kingdom. With so many Christian churches falling prey to false teaching and gimmicks to trick people into coming to church, we are a church that proclaims the full counsel of God's Word, shepherds the flock through the biblically appointed Eldership, and desires to see Christians grow in knowledge, wisdom, and understanding so that they can love and serve the Lord.
We are family focused and covenantal, subscribe to the Westminster Standards & Three Forms of Unity, and desire to see God's will done on earth as it is in heaven in all aspects of life. Learn more at our Facebook page: HeritageReformedSanford

HRPC Worship: Overcoming Cultural Obstacles -- Acts 16:1-5
Sermon Title: Overcoming Cultural Obstacles
Theme: The Gospel navigates natural differences between peoples.
1. Timothy is recommended and Paul takes him on his missionary work (1-3a).
2. Paul circumcises Timothy for cultural reasons in order to aid his ministry. (3b).
3. They strengthen the church by preaching freedom from circumcision & ceremonies. (4-5).
SERMON SUMMARY (for family preparation and review):
Now that the Church is found in every tribe, tongue, and nation, how would the various races, cultures, and languages of the world relate to one another, especially fellow Chris-tians across these various lines? Paul had Timothy circumcised to assuage cultural and ethnic concerns of the Jews who knew Timothy was half-Jewish yet uncircumcised, since he had a Greek father. These difficult circumstances were remedied by Paul circumcising Timothy, which enabled Timothy to be effective in ministry to both Jews & Greeks, being part Jewish and part Greek. From this, we see that the Gospel navigates natural differ-ences between peoples without destroying them. Timothy is well spoken for, and so would meet the qualifications to be a ministry leader, as found for the offices of Elder and Deacon in 1 Timothy 3. We read Timothy was ordained to ministry, yet it was still wise for him to be circumcised. This shows that we must have some racial, cultural, and ethnic awareness, which does not make one a “racist”, bigot, or hater of others. It is simply noticing reality as God has ordered it, and the blessings and challenges that come with it, especially in a fallen and sinful world. Paul’s having Timothy circumcised was not a salvific requirement - that was just settled in Acts 15 - but it was a matter of prudence and concession to the under-standably sensitive consciences of the believing Jews in the first century transition from the old covenant to new covenant administration. In Galatians 2, Paul refuses to circumcise Titus, both because the demand in that case was that circumcision would merit or contrib-ute to salvation, and because Titus was not half-Jew but wholly Greek. Thus there should have been no racial or cultural hangup for the Jews now that the new covenant era had come. From this we see the essence of the kingdom of God is not cultural or ethnic differ-ence. It is not bloodlines, nor eating and drinking, but “righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit” (Rom. 14). At the same time, it would be foolish to think that becoming a Christian removes the differences between male and female, Jew and Greek, slave and free. Men are still men, and women are still women, and they still belong to a particular people of a particular land with a particular ancestry/lineage, no matter how complex the family tree may be. Further, historically and still today, we continue to exist in hierarchy, in positions of authority and submission - a man over his wife, children under their parents, Elders over the congregation for Spiritual good, all under the civil magistrate for civic good, and all of which is under God Himself. As Paul was burdened for his kinsmen according to the flesh (Rm. 9:3), his fellow Jews whom he admits had long been wayward and wicked, he yet ministered to them as well as to Gentiles in his calling. We also ought to have the greatest burden for our own - our own household with spouse and children, our own near family/kin, our own communities, our own state, and our own nation. None of which despis-es others, but properly orders our loves as God has intended so that each loves their own the most. This promotes the deepest love for each of us best, since it is easiest, desirable, and proper that we our most loyal to our own. God has ordained that no one can love or care for you better than your own parents, Elders, bosses, and magistrates.
SERMON QUESTIONS FOR DISCUSSION:
1. Why does Paul have Timothy circumcised, but not Titus?
2. The essence of God’s kingdom and our unity as God’s people is in Christ, His righteous-ness, holiness, joy, and peace (Rm. 14). Does this mean that differences between male and female or national and cultural differences are meaningless or unimportant?
3. How does recognizing God’s order and the differences between male and female help us understand our duties in the home, whether as father/husband, wife/mother, or child?
4. Regarding marriage, would it normally be wise to marry another believer who had vastly different doctrinal convictions? What if they were vastly different culturally or ethnically?
5. How has Egalitarianism -- the flattening out of all differences between male and female, nations, etc., infected our nation, culture, churches, & our understanding of loyalty/love?

National Renewal Begins with Local Rootedness

If we want transformation for the better, we need to begin locally, being rooted and devoted to our family, church, and friends nearby. Egalitarianism is a lie that has destroyed our minds and affections, or at least has attempted to do so. Inequality and a hierarchy of loves is ordained by God. Even in glory, the blessedness of the saints is unequal, for God graciously rewards faithfulness in ...

This includes praying for daily bodily provision, daily spiritual pardon, and daily protection from Satan’s temptations and all evil. Luke 11:5-13 illustrates how often & in what manner we should pray to the Father for these things. Need: God desires that we...
Thoughts on the Purpose and Frequency of the Lord's Supper

In this video, I make various arguments that the Lord has left it to His Church/Elders to determine, using their wisdom for their flock, to set the frequency of Communion, guided by the principles of God's Word in both the OT and NT. Some of my thoughts on this are found in written form here, though the video goes in much greater and broader detail: tulipdrivenlife.blogspot.com/2021/07/on-natur...

A. Cornelius is devout, with all his household, leading them to serve the Lord, as Joshua did in the O.T. 1. Jos. 24:15ff.: “choose you this day whom you will serve. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua knew his authority, duty, and privilege to require his family to serve the Lord. 2. Cornelius, even as a Gentile God-fearer, understood this, and God blessed his household. 3....

Excuse me chipping in. But I feel for your dilemma. To cut a long story short I was a good protestant for 30 years until recently. I have since discovered to my amazement that it is the Catholic church that despite all its critics turns out to be the one true church. Any disillusioned souls should consider the (actual, not wrongly imagined) case for Catholicism. Catholisim is the only lasting answer to the exponential protestant church division situation. A paradigm shift I know for many. Bless you on your journey😊 🙏🏻🕊️
Great primer on christian politics
Wish you would fill us in on what is actually going on in the OPC assembly meetings... how can I access this information
Is the OPC having private talks with the catholic church
I would like to hear more hard facts about the OPC... regarding specific compromise.... I am in an OPC and my heart tells me something is wrong .. but there is no transparency... our elders never tell us the facts of the big meetings or what is really going on... I try to research it but can't find the facts
Considering OPC in my area but now will be reconsidering. I needed to hear this.
GOD DOES NOT FORCE RELIGION ON HIS PEOPLE. He allows choice. Satan is the one who causes force. I will not be forced to worship on Romes day of SUNday. God's day is the seventh day Sabbath. He sanctified and made it Holy.
So sad. God does not compell His people
Excellent Romans 13 sermon. praise God. TBH was hesitant at first but you righteously put it together to the glory of God. TY Brother
Word
The bible condemns the amalgamation of church and state. We have no right to force Christian practices on society. The Roman Church did this during the dark ages and murdered millions of people. Also the Sabbath is on Saturday. Sunday sacredness will become the mark of the beast. Easily proven from scripture alone.
Acts 2:38.

Very helpful. Thank you
Am I receiving actual grace from God through and by faith when partaking of the lord's supper? If so, why not the more the merrier?
So you want to send the PCA and OPC to the same fate of the PCUSA? If strong conservative voices continue to leave, then the liberal voices gain more and more control until they end up as a universalist church with Presbyterian traditions. What if we committed to fervent prayer for our denominational leadership instead of constantly running away and creating new denominations?
I'm getting baptised on the 11th Sept. Even within the Church the Decon said I need to be submerged and the Vicar said water to be poured over my head. I said "I don't care if someone throws a bucket of water over me, just get your acts together or I will ask someone in the church to baptise me with one witness and you won't be invited" face-blue-smiling They asked 3 questions "how did you come to find Christ" I replied "I didn't know he was lost" "what does he mean to you?" I answered "he died for my sins" and How will you serve him?" I replied "you will have to ask him that. Maybe I could serve him by sorting you two out first as you argue like cat and dog"
Amen brother
Amen. Truth, bless those that hear. God glorifying sermon. Edifying to His ppl.
Is your church independent? Or is it part of a micropresbyterian network? How old are you? How long ordained?
I see and understand the gross declension in the PCA, OPC but something I don't understand with all these micro Presbyterian denominations why are they seperate? When people decided they wanted to leave the PCA why did they start a new denomination instead of joining one of the stricter denominations that already existed? The thing with most of the micro Presbyterian denominations is that they are still loose with Westminster Standards, Don't have uniformity of worship, and accept multiple depatures from historic Presbyterianism. For example why did churches in the PCA decide the forum Vanguard Presbyterian Church instead of joining the RPCGA? Then Vanguard split and some churches formed Christ Reformed Presbyterian church. What is the reason for CRPC not being able to unite with the RPCGA? Churches want to leave the PCA and OPC but they still don't want to follow the Westminster Directory for public worship.
YOUR WORDS are true. Hard to weigh your obligation you swore before Christ to the local church as an officer and also to know when you bail on that family. Have mercy on my brother, These words of yours are obvious, but hard to act upon. I concur, but how do I tell those I serve, not in this way?, not for this church. but I still desire to sever you
Prayers for protection for all of you, it's a battlefield out there! Don't let those vile people and haters of the rainbow that God created for good, win you over. When they say that us followers of the beautiful Lord and Savior hate them? It's what they use to try and win us over cause they expect you to say, " it's ok" and just give them a pat on the back and affirm their lifestyle. I know cause I used to say the same thing cause I lived my life that way for half my life. I still have leftover issues that I still deal with but with the help of a good Christian counselor, my Pastor and his Wife and my Sister constantly praying for my protection and mental health I'll be ok it's only through the Blood of Jesus that I've made it this far even when I lived my life in a very sinful way Alcoholism, Nicotine addiction to top off sexual sins I was commiting against myself but most of all against God! God bless each and every one of you, in Jesus name Amen! 🙏💟
God bless you all. Thank you for standing for the truth.
How would you respond to people like Reformed Zoomer (If you know who I'm talking about) who thinks it's better to stay and keep reforming? (I think he calls it the "Reconquista" movement). I wanna respect the commitment, but it does seem to me that it may be more fruitful to jump ship and found something more faithful and biblical.
My understanding is he is trying to recover the PCUSA, which is much further down the road than the PCA. I can't take him seriously. If there were a true biblical, courageous, Reformed movement to recover the PCA, OPC, etc., I'd be all for it. But there isn't one as things stands. Everyone thinks the GRN (Gospel Reformation Network) in the PCA is the solution, but they are the biggest obstacle to true Reform. The conservatives in the OPC are the same thing. They'll take out Michael Spangler but effectively do nothing to progressives within their ranks.
@@ptomerwhat’s wrong with GRN
hopefully the opc continues as a bulwark against theological liberalisum
I believe that you made a good point on that pouring or sprinkling is a legitimate baptism, but I disagree with you on baptizing babies and children. I believe that baptism is for people that understand the gospel, believe and have put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ.
What denomination sprinkles and pours in baptism & yet does not administer baptism to infants?
Most Mennonites
@@Fehrfamilyhomestead that is so interesting! Was that Menno Simons view (that immersion was not the only valid mode)?
Baptism is English and may be it means what you are explaining. The Greek word that is translated to English is “Baptizo” meaning Immersion. Jesus was immersed in water, and the disciples immersed believers in water. Following, the apostolic example baptism should be immersion. I was told that when I was a baby, water was sprinkled on me as baptism however when I became of age, after receiving and believing Christ Jesus, I consented to be baptised and was immersed fully understanding what I was doing and following the apostles example as in the holy scriptures.
@mose... Who told you that "baptizo" means "immersion?" Are you sure. Baptism is not a new invention by John the Baptist. Jesus was not immersed neither do the Ethiopian eunuch. They were either poured or sprinkled. "bapto" means "dip" and is found only 3 times in the NT, and mind you, they are not related with Baptism at all. Baptism means "sprinkling" (or sometimes "pouring"). If you don't know how people got Baptism, please do research in the OT. Don't draw your Baptism pattern outside the Bible, or from "Hinduism bathing rites." Baptism never means immersion. Moreover Baptism never saves people from sin, but a man is saved by faith in Jesus Christ.
Prove Jesus was immersed
No rebaptisms in scripture
very confused and twisted thinking
Thanks for this! God's timing.
What you have said is wrong.
I think you are either Baptist or Pentecostal. Immersionists are very pitiful. Their practice of Baptism is drawn from Hinduism, i.e. since 18th century only.
Then you are not baptized. Col 2:12 says, " You are BURIED with him in baptism and RAISED up with him through faith.." When sprinkled, you are neither buried or raised and the verse you give above have nothing to do with baptism. You might want to actually read verses that talk about baptism, not the Lord Supper.....Read also Romans 6
Ummm... they entombed people back then
Thank you very mutch, i was baptised when i was 17 with the sprinkeling baptism and it was a very special day for me,and now i am joining christain group on wendnesdays but they asked if i was baptized and i said well yeah i was in this way baptized and when i said that ,it was asif they are trying to attack me and then told me that the baptism that i got didnt really count and that i am not really saved.😂 So i cried the whole night with confusion and now after watching this video I am more at ease. Now I know what to do in the future and to what texts in the bybel I must refer to and tell them about sothat they can understand why I was baptized in that way.
If you believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried and resurrected on the 3rd day then you are saved, baptism is a symbol of being saved.
@@Fehrfamilyhomestead I know it just that I left my old church becauese things changed and then when I joined the new church they say me being baptized in that certain way doesn't count and me declaring to the church that I believe doesn't count either , so it felt like a fight and it also feels like it's interfering with my relationship with God. Becauese the one time the priest came in and she said everything that is wrong with our lives like personal things of our insecurities and stuff and then everyone cried and then she left witch didn't make sense... And the other time the priest was saying something specifically to me then I started to cry and the whole church laughed at me even the priest so then I went outside to clear my head then they forced me to go back in ... My mental health went down tho so now I take a break becauese I realized there are different types of churches that believe in different ways ,so now I'm rebuilding my relationship with God and later on will find a community that fits right that is caring and loving and don't make me feel bad about myself
I'm sorry to hear that you got treated that way. That sounds like a church that needs to be avoided.

My husband and I as well as our 5 children have our membership at a confessional, conservative, faithful, PCA church in Central Florida. We initially were hesitant to join a church in the PCA due to a lot of the reasons you mentioned, but our pastors and elders are actively contending for the truth in the denomination. They are trying to plant and revitalize other faithful PCA churches in our area as well. Thank you for mentioning that there are still faithful churches in the PCA despite much need for reform in the denomination.
If you think it's just symbolic what diifference filled it make on the exact method?
A person must be "baptized" to be saved. However, it has nothing to do with water. The proof is found below. Old Covenant Baptism vs. New Covenant Baptism (water vs. Spirit) Water baptism was a part of the Old Covenant system of ritual washing. The Old Covenant priests had to wash before beginning their service in the temple. (Ex. 30:17-30) When Christ was water baptized by His cousin John in the Jordan River, He was under the Old Covenant system. He also only ate certain foods, and wore certain clothes, as prescribed by the 613 Old Covenant laws. Christ was water baptized by John and then the Holy Spirit came from heaven. (Acts 10:38) The order is reversed in the New Covenant. A person receives the Holy Spirit upon conversion, and then believers often declare their conversion to their friends and family through a water baptism ceremony. Which baptism makes you a member of Christ’s Church? The New Covenant conversion process is described below. (Born-again) Eph 1:12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, (A person must “hear” the Gospel, and “believe” the Gospel, and will then be “sealed” with the Holy Spirit.) Joh 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (See Jer. 31:34 for the New Covenant promise, and 1 John 2:27 for the fulfillment) ============ Which baptism is a part of the salvation process, based on what the Bible says? What did Peter say below? Acts 11:15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning. Acts 11:16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost. Based on Luke 3:16, and John 1:33, and Acts 11:15-16, the most important thing about the word "baptize" in the New Testament has nothing to do with water. The Holy Spirit is the master teacher promised to New Covenant believers in Jeremiah 31:34, and John 14:26, and is found fulfilled in Ephesians 1:13, and 1 John 2:27. Unfortunately, many modern Christians see water/ every time they read the word "baptize" in the text. Based on the above, what is the one baptism of our faith found in the passage below? How many times is the word "Spirit" found in the passage, and how many times is the word "water" found in the passage? Eph 4:1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, Eph 4:2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Eph 4:3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Eph 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; Eph 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, (See 1 Cor. 12:13) “baptize” KJV Mat_3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: Mar_1:8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost. Mar 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. (Water or Holy Spirit?, See Eph. 1-13.) Luk_3:16 John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire: Joh_1:26 John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not; Joh_1:33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. 1Co_1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. 1Co 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. (See Eph. 4:1-5) Heb 9:10 Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation. (Old Covenant ----> New Covenant) How many people have been saved by the Old Covenant water baptism of John the Baptist? Who did John the Baptist say is the greatest Baptist that ever lived in Luke 3:16? What kind of New Covenant baptism comes from Christ? The Presbyterian Church is less than 300 years old.
2024 - 1560 = 464 🤔 I'm also not sure what the age of the Presbyterian church has to do with anything in this message either.
Wow you really missed the message. might want to read your book again bub before you start making your judgements. Your mindset = Hamas you are projecting your views onto others. Maybe read some books on critical thinking and empathy and you will be brought closer to Christ.
Thank you so much. We recently joined a reformed church. Leaving the baptist denomination about 2yrs ago. Our son is asking to be baptised. Our pastor explained why they sprinkle, but i wanted a more detailed help to better explain to family who hold to baptist tradition.
The Lord buried sin in water in the days of Noah. The attacking Egyptians were drowned in water.
Thank you for this. I agree...grooming is what they are trying to do.
Just adding this, because I've been in tears all morning, understanding this. I'm beginning to think religious texts were generated by Artificial Intelligence. Not looking for an arguement, just trying to understand "why" myself. Our personal power is then turned over to another human. Just my thoughts, no disrespect meant.
Dang James White is attacking Wolfe why.
I found your video on twitter after hearing all the buzz and controversy. I uploaded a clip onto my channel that I think clarifies Gilder’s reasoning for writing the book the way he did, there seems to be a real disconnect of categories between what he means by superior; he’s not talking about biblical headship or goddess worship. I also put a link to a short blog I wrote about the topic. If it’s interesting I’d welcome your feedback.
