These transmissions are not like your typical transmissions found in all gas powered cars, right? I was under the impression that my chevy volt didn't have a transmission since it's driven by an electric motor all the time. Shows how much I know, lol. 😂

Video is great and helped. My battery in Volt 17 was still functional but voltage was somewhat on the low side. I had to pair my TPMS sensors after battery replacement to get tire pressure readings. Potentially it is not needed and if you wait long enough for car to reestablish link to all sensors.

Do these work for standard double cut as well? I have a couple of vehicles that take a double cut but the FOB is too big to fit in my wheel cutter. I have been looking at these, but as you said, there isn’t a lot if info out there on them.

Why did you have to disconnect the battery and what happens if you don’t? And what torque spec did you secure the steering wheel to when you re-connecting it?

Programed the replacement Custer and its 34 miles less than what it should be. I got the hex code from the old cluster. Any thoughts why that might be the case

Check engine light propulsion power reduction. Car switching from 75% battery life to 0 and then revving high to low revving high to low and gas mileage cutting down quickly. I ended up going to AutoZone and then Advance Auto Parts to check the battery on the 12-volt and saw it was bad I immediately bought the battery and changed it in the parking lot with their tools. And everything was awesome from there

I have a 2023 Maverick and stumbled upon this video because I realized I needed a key i could take out kitesurfing. Of course a FOB and salt water don't really mix so I was looking for a 'simple' key or just a door key. This video just deals with FOBs, but made me realize i maybe need a 3rd programmed key for the future or it could cost me a lot of money. I also was having a hard time locating just a door key blank on the internet. I then realized i could likely just disassemble a 2nd spare FOB to just use the key blade as a dummy key. So I went ahead and ordered the two FOB offer on Amazon linked in this video's description. I called at least 4 locksmiths and two Ford dealerships to get the best deal on the actual cutting. I finally found a locksmith who said he would do 2 for 40 dollars. Upon meeting him in his mobile van he said these were 'tricky' locks so he was going to do a test on a dumb key. i asked him if he would take 20 for it if it worked. He agreed and all his cuts were good. Programming FOBs went eezy peezy just like shown in this video. So now in addition to my two factory keys, I have two programmed FOBS and a surf key... all for less than 100 dollars total. I am happy.

Good video. I have a 2017 F-150 XLT V8 4x4. Today my wipers stopped working intermittently but work on high, no turn signals, no cruise control, no hands free controls work on steering wheel but phone will auto connect to radio when using cell phone, 911 Assist Not Available. A couple months ago travelled from dry Calif Central Valley to Oregon and had lots of rain. I started getting error messages - Steering Assist Fault, Service Advance Trac, Check 4x4, Hill Start Assist Not Available. I've seen in forums claims that the Clockspring can cause these errors. I'm thinking that maybe water intrusion into a connection may have occurred. I went to O'Reilley's and scanned codes U1012-00, U0212-00, U0121-00 & P062C-00. Communications lost with ABS CM, SCCM and invalid data. Any idea if the U0212 Lost Communication With SCCM could be the Clockspring? Also have seen that the ABS Control Module can cause these error codes.

What are the torque specs for the bolts?

I have a 2016 F150 and the steering button lights flicker on and off and when they go off the horn also stops working. I think I'm going to give this a try. Thanks for the info.

Hey sir hope you’re doing well I just have a question about to reprogramming my 2015 f150 cluster I replaced cause the other one was damaged so the one I just replaced is not working properly the emergency brake light is on and there’s a yellow light is on and the screen it says lost communication so I was trying to delete the lights on with the code writer but they comes back on again right away any suggestion please thank you

Thank you. We got a "Engine Unavailable" warning on the dash. The gas guage turned yellow and given we had nothing left in the EV battery, we were out of luck. I tossed in a new battery per your video and we were back on the road!

So do you just crank it up and let it get warm or do you have to cycle the transmission gears while it's jacked up in the air?

Thanks for the video. I have the same issue but in addition to the steering wheel controls not working my wipers and signals aren’t working. Would the clock spring contribute to that too? I’ve already replaced the Multi-Function Switch and that was a bust.

What does it mean if i replace the clock spring and the horn still doesn’t work?

I want to thank you so much. I followed your video to the letter and every step was exactly as you said. Even the little dribble after running it to temp and rechecking. AWESOME! I have a 2018 Edge with 46,000 miles. Thought it would be good preventative maintenance to start with periodic fluid changes. I had to do my rear brakes and oil change so I just added this in -- car was already up. LOL I used my laptop with FORSCAN to monitor temp -- worked great.
