The viking age isnt super ancient...its only like 1000 years old. Chinese shuai jiao wrestlings is over 2000 years ago and egyptian weestling even older.
Very fair
Thank you for sharing Pencak Silat ❤
Of course, glad you enjoyed.
I wàs paying too much attention to the white Usain bolt sprinting 😂
That was an 'interesting' fight.
I love you playlist, thank you and please keep teaching more martial arts 😊🤘🏾
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoy the channel!
We are aware that there can be potential issues with historical accuracy when discussing Yasuke. For this video, I’ve aimed to use the most widely retold and accepted accounts of his story to provide a balanced and engaging perspective.
Interesting.
It is a fascinating system.
@Edudivexo yeah it looks it . I have some skill with New Zealand Maori weapons. Some similar forms some very different. Great post . indigenous people keeping their heritage alive . Very cool
No it's not. Check out the listing for the film Taken and you will see that the fight choreography was directed by Michael Gould who was a high level Goshinkwai Yawara practitoner. In the 1970's GY was being taught at Ebbw Vale leisure centre in South Wales UK under the founders John and Gordan Warefield with the previous direction from Kenshiro Abbe of Japan. One night during a training session four sun tanned blokes came to watch the session and liked what they saw. They asked if one of the instructors, Michael Gould, could come to Hereford to the Regiment which he did to teach. They were British SAS. When he arrived at the camp he was asked what he would do if attacked to which he replied I don't know. The essence of the system is they go, you go, everything depends on them. The SAS believe in the 5 second fight, anything lasting longer than that promises to have no winners. I'm not trashing the title, because flow is crucial in the system, but this is how it really started. Great video.
Thank you
The British Armed Forces should adopt this Martial Art/CWC System, into it's basic training. Even if it is just for the Special Forces.
The creator is actual ex military.
@Edudivexo I know that. I'm just saying that it might help The British Armed Forces in the future.
This deserves a lot more likes and views.. as long as it's not AI 😅
I'm a human. Do I really sound that robotic? Lol
One of those days that'll be remembered for many more generations, I hope. Today we're all brothers, tonight we're all friends!
Exactly, a true show of humanity in an arena where it was hard to find it!
❤
Glad you enjoyed.
I've been instinctively training this way my whole life. I didn't know it was an actual thing. Looking it up.
Somewhat a forgotten art now but it dominated any type of active fighting for some time in the United States.
Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
Merry Christmas to you!
Doctor: Combat BDSM isn't real, it can't hurt you. Combat BDSM:
Hojōjutsu was also first by some way.
There was also kicking in Pankration, as well as throws.
Indeed and so much that has been lost to time.
I know this of Shibari quite well known in BDSM circles but there is a strict Health and Saftey protocol observed bettween consenting adults ie Safe words and blunt scissors for quick release should there been any medical emergancies
Yes and Shibari came from Hojōjutsu and then of course developed in it's own area as needed.
Ofc the japanese make combat shibari
Hojōjutsu was first.
@Edudivexo that tracks lol
tied up with care and respect,
Of course
Thank you for showing this skill! I never knew about it until today. Where can I learn more about this?
No problem. There are organisations and dojos all over, in the UK there is the Bujinkan Dojo in Leeds, USA there is the Hakko Densho Ryu Martial Arts Federation and there are a number of other places. You should be able to find them if you have a look through online.
💪💪💪❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏
Glad you liked it
Unbelievable, 3,000 yrs old and that too from kerala, India. I believe Vidyut Jammwal got trained in this Kalaripayattu , all his stunts in movies are real without any stuntman and he performs very daringly. Hope this martual arts get.much recognition and passed on our generations to come.
It has a very rich history and great training.
I enjoy it. I train more for excercise/health. Its murder on my ears though
Fair, definitely great for health etc.
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, hope you enjoyed.
Excellent kalari magnificent
Glad you like it.
KAPAP STILL SHARES IT'S PARENTHOOD WITH KRAV MAGA!
They have a mutual martial ancestor indeed.
It just stick fighting nothing new
Bartitsu is known for stick fighting but has throws, pugilism, locks, wrestling etc. Within it. It is one of the older mixed martial arts.
It's fung fu afro stick fighting cogo wrestling
All original martial arts was developed in order to protect self or defeat the enemy using no rules. Real world martial arts is not designed to score points in à dojo, or take home a trophy.🏆 Avoidance is the best policy if possible.
Absolutely
Any stories or videos showing this interesting Art in genuine combat?
So Cool! Sherlock's Martial Art to Gentlemen. I loved It.
Indeed, it was also developed by suffragettes in the early 20th century to help that cause.
How is it different from Catch,or No Gi BJJ like ADCC? It is almost indistinguishable.
They all have slightly different areas of tactics they are looking for and all differ, they can all look similar as any wrestling style or any art that shares common heritage.
It's based on combining my two favorite grappling arts? Hot damn, sign me up.
It's always good to find a new system to try.
I said the exact same thing when I first learned about it. It's such an amazing looking grappling style
It was not the Gracies who bring the Jiu jitsu here to Brazil. The first documented championship it was 1904, recorded in a journal. Brazil has the biggest japanese community outside Japan. This big number of japanese bring with them japanese martial arts. Brazil government loved it because it was something to fight with capoeira, that the government didn't like because it was very "black and poor". So, the Brazilian NAVY in early 1900 took some classes of jiu jitsu with japanese professors. Then, in 1925 Mitsuno Maeda came to Brazil and teaches Carlos Gracie and all started. Carlos and Helio and the Gracies were fundamental stones, specially to don't let judo absorb jiu jitsu in the middle of the century. But the begging was different! Maeda came into a society that already have 20 years learning, liking and accepting judo in culture. Nice vídeo!!
There is of course a lot more nuanced the history of BJJ and specifics but did our best to get as much in. As we say the popularity was the Gracie's but the origin is of course Japan. Glad you enjoyed it.
I remember old school Gracie Gym trained a lot ways of block and evade punchs, Kicks or Elbows.
For sure
Gracie Family trained Boxing and Muay Thai I don't like lies when Royce fighted in UFC 1 he know what type of punchs and Kicks expect from strikers.
He definitely had striking knowledge.
Japanese Jiu Jitsu have Punchs and Kicks too Brazilian Jiu Jitsu choose focus more in Ground Game but trained striking too.
Absolutely.
Bjj is coming from Jjj (Japanese jujitsu) yes but Maeda was a student of Kanō Jigorō who was a Jjj master.from the traditional jujitsu He made a non dangerous method for schools that he named Judo. But the roots of the fighting system that Maeda gave to the Gracie family was not Judo but jujitsu. Judo , Aikido and Karate are all the sportive form of JJJ separated and purified from the battlefield dangerous techniques. What we call MMA today is nothing but the JJJ ( kicks and punches, takedowns, submissions)
Interesting take.
To a hammer, every problem is a nail.
hammers! second degree! levers! my friend ... today, for you , I will describe a missing link in humanities technological development. emus pedaling bicycles. bicycle were invented after steam engines. and, counterintuitively. modern humans have emphasized internal combustion engines for transportation. neglecting possibility of mechanical advantage for draft animals. emus pedaling bicycles, a sustainable transportation alternative. brought to you by Ragonstick TM.
Absolutely
Many of us fell in the emu war...
Sad times.
such a needless conflict! imagine if anyone had considered possibility of giving emus jobs? emus pedaling bicycles! a sustainable transportation alternative brought to you by Ragonstick TM. birdseed is cheaper than gasoline.
The event was so significant that we old aussies have never heard of this! Talk about making a mountain out of a molehill. An aussie.
Mentioned many times on Australian TV and in popular culture by comedians etc. (Aussie family and have seen on Aussie TV)
mountains , molehills, the past! what about the future? emus pedaling bicycles! how strange is it that bicycles were invented after steam engines? humanity has collectively emphasized development of internal combustion engines, totally neglecting possibility of mechanical advantage for draft animals. emus pedaling bicycles!n a sustainable transportation alternative brought to you by Ragonstick TM. birdseed is cheaper than gasoline!
A real life SISU
Absolutely.
Pretty impressive birds to survive several .303 bullet hits. Imagine if they were Moas or Elephant birds? Maybe WW2 German automatic lightweight aero cannon with explosive 20mm rounds might work.
A very impressive feat by the birds.
think of the amazing possibilities of mechanical advantage for draft animals! emus pedaling bicycles! sustainable transportation alternative brought you by Ragonstick TM.birdseed is cheaper than gasoline!
I'll be honest, I didn't know this was a real art... I tried to learn the cane arts, using a cubed yard stick; broke the stupid thing after a few swings... Suffice it to say, looks like I may have a new hobby to study up...
Due to the bastardisation of the name to Baritsu by Arthur Conan Doyle many didn't realise. However the original art was created and had a main dojo in Soho, London with many instructors sent out to help adaption. There are good instructors and bad all over, but remember this is not simply a stick art so looking for the adaptive instructors are likely your best bet.
Being of, shall we say, larger build, and having to walk with a stick, I find Bartitsu somewhat of a useful Martial Art to know, I have a ready defense tool in my hand, and it is not illegal to carry. .
Definitely a great starting point. Any systems that allow it.
In these disturbing times, the spirit of Bartitsu is paticularly inspiring
Created in a turbulent time as well.
Britfag martial art
If you know how to wield a hurl, you can defeat an army...
Indeed
Its just reskinned Muaythai
There is likely a common martial ancestor, as is the case with many.
@@Edudivexo understandable
Hey all, rarely but occasionally you will see comments deleted, this will only happen when there is simple hate or pure misinformation. This shouldn't have to be said again but for the record: This channel has no direct association to any specific organisation or martial art, this is an educational channel and looks at strange history, martial arts, amazing people and much more. All videos are voiced by the channel owner, me. There is no use of AI voices at all on any longer main channel videos, that is simply my voice despite people constantly believing me to be AI.
