There is nothing abstract about the first 2 seasons of Twin Peaks. This scene is the culmination of Coopers' investigation (both intuitive and rational). Cooper believed in the Tibetan ways of doing things, that is, with the whole human being and not just with the mind. That is why I also believe that Mark Frost's take on Twin Peaks balanced Lynch's. Frost wrote this episode and balanced what Lynch did before him. Frost always focused more on nature, like forests, wood, water, while Lynch focused more on man-made things like electricity, atomic bombs, television and so on. That is why I could not get emotionally invested in Season 3. Frost balanced Lynch beautifully and that is what lacked in Season 3.

Thanks for posting this! It's been decades since I heard this. I used to have this tape and the 3 song demo tape. I still have the demo, but this tape was lost to me 30 something years ago. It's great to hear them again! (PS - I posted the demo tape here on UA-cam, the audio isn't the best as it was played 1000 times, but its ok)

I've always founded weird how the showed the killer for the audience before Cooper. Wasn't the hole point we finding out things alongside him? Also they took practically a filler episode for the town to find out Maddy's being killed. Imagine watching it in '92 and having to wait a hole week for shit to go down. Thank god the actors are so good, because if they depended only on the plot, this episode would be a total disaster.
