Hey everybody, my name is Dillon Wright. I’m an animator with high functioning autism, and a passion for animation. My dream is to share my passion for animation with all of you, by teaching you some tips and tricks for animation, reviewing animation books, animation software, some animatics and rough animations I create, and basically giving you the inspiration to start animating yourself.

Angela Anaconda: 25th Anniversary Review
Переглядів 1984 місяці тому
In the cracks of cartoon history, there are shows we may or may not remember, yet some stood out so much that it was hard to truly forget about them, and one of those shows, is Angela Anaconda, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary today. Note: As for why the video was darker than my other videos, I has gotten LumaFusion updated, and the video looked brighter than it actually was, so I dimm...

Since then, I got comments asking for more details about it. And now, with one year of experience reviewing animation books and apps, here is the most detailed review of everything The Animator’s Survival Kit, including ...

Return of the Frame Rate Conversion Formula
Переглядів 507 місяців тому
Back in January, I uploaded a video showcasing a formula I developed to help people convert frame rates without altering the timing. This can be used to make more authentic Chaplin-like animations, or used to get the timing off a reference video that isn’t 24 frames per second.

Fantastic! After many years away from animation, I'm returning. This book is a must and I look forward to reading it again. By the way, I love your accent! I love the southern accent :)

Can you still purchase the box set from the website?
Cool Video!
Honestly, I have autism too. But I am special. And honestly, I am an animator too.
Great job
Thank you so much for this review. It helped me to spot a fake that i had already purchased on ebay . Because of this video i was able to get a refund on my purchase. Sadly, it seems that all the ones for sale on ebay are fakes 😢 and sale for 100+ dollars. Thanks again ❤
You're very welcome. I'm glad you were able to get your refund, and that my review was able to be helpful for someone. I hope you get to have a real boxset one day, and I hope you have a Merry Christmas.
Thanks merry Christmas to you as well . Hopefully , do you have suggestions of how to purchase a authentic set @dillonwright13
Nice job! Happy Holidays Dillon!
Since your using the traditional Acme peg bar style, what paper punch did you use? or should I opt for round hole punch and peg bar instead? just starting planning for a traditional animation desk so any advice can help ❤
I don’t own a paper punch for the ACME holes at the moment, since the ones on the Chromacolour website is around $1000. However, if you buy the portable animation desks on Chromacolour, it comes with a plexiglass disc that you can replace the peg bar with, and they have an option for a 2-hole peg bar, but you’d have to look for a customizable 2-hole hole punch, which luckily can be found at places like Goodwill. However, I haven’t tested to see if any other brand of these replaceable peg bars work on the Chromacolour discs yet.
I like this quite a lot!
Sorry I’m late but HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Chris chan gone downhill bruh
sorry im late but happy birthday
They don't make these anymore. I'd really want to have one back then.
@@steampunkster2023 They still do, you just gotta email the company and they should tell you when they’ll have more. Here’s the link to the one I have: www.chromacolour.co.uk/black-plexiglas-animation-disc-16f.html
Make a series of tutorial of toonsquid from zero to pro

Thanks was so trying to see what this came with
Awesome job Dillion. Keep up the good work 🎉
Update: I mentioned in the video that “Character Animation Crash Course” by Eric Goldberg only has 3 assignments, but after looking at the book again, I discovered 2 exercises I overlooked. That said, there’re actually 5 assignments in the book, 3 of them have you animate, one of them having you character design, and one of them have you storyboard.
I find toondquid difficult , drea.s is easier to understand
Hey, do you know when will the toonsquid version 2.0 is going to be released? I'm done waiting, i check for atleast 3-5 times a day in appstore for any update option.
I wish I knew, but no one knows when 2.0 will be released, beta testing keeps restarting with each update to the beta version, and I don’t think Keiwan, the creator of the app, even knows when it’ll be released.
Great video Dillon! Keep up the good work ❤
Sorry for the delay, but here’s the link to the Frank & Ollie website: frankanollie.com
This is just a loop. It’s not really animation. It’s a start.
Congrats😊
You are great bro, keep growing. ❤❤
Happy Anniversary!
My name is also Dillon, I also have autism, My dream is also to be a animator so I can make animated movies and cartoons I'm in college right now study animation, That cool we have both in comment!
Thank you for the video! Next time could you please do a voiceover? That would be very beneficial as it’s hard for me to look at the screen sometimes with the text on the way back.
I think another great editor for iPad that you should check out is Davinci Resolve. While you will need a keyboard to fully use all the features, what you get is a fully fledged editing software that you can take on the go. Think you can give it a try?
This was really useful, thank you!
Hey Dillon, Keiwan recently announced that toonsquid 2.0 is now in beta testing. Do you plan on trying out the beta update before the public release?
@@CamMations I would, but I’m not sure how the whole beta testing thing works. Right now, I’m just hoping someone will post videos about their use of the beta version, and that somehow the beta testing won’t be as lengthy as Keiwan is making it sound like. Update: I just read that installing beta apps on devices that have the full version already can result in data loss, and I can’t bare to lose the projects I worked on, or am working on currently. Update 2: I just submitted the form upon discovering the beta app will be a separate app from the regular app, so I won’t have to worry about my projects being corrupted. Now I just hope that I get selected.
@@dillonwright13Do you know that procreate dreams finally updated their roadmap? It sounds like the next update will finally have the selection tool. As for FlipaClip, it looks like it’s getting closer to its big update. I just know animation in 2025 is gonna be wild.
Hi I know this is not the place for this topic but research Islam without western media propaganda, try to understand it and you will find peace in it and the meaning of life and maybe solutions to problems, thanks for reviews

It’s a very interesting topics Dillion .Thank you.🙏
Thank you Dillion .Heartwarming posting .
Thank you ❤
Very interesting, thanks Dillon!
I love the story circle
Bro can only complain.
I think the trickiest thing about this principle is that everyone always tends to have a different perspective/standard for what they consider appealing. I think this is especially true when you compare western animation to anime.
Hi, I'm a mexican animator and I'm very interested in acquire an animation disc, because nothing compares to drawing on paper. I've been trying to contact Chromacolour to get a classic black plexiglass disc (they appear as out of stock on their page) but they just don't respond, do you know if they still operate? Thank you, or anyone that can help me, in advance.
In Alan Becker’s video on Timing, clips of inbetweens 0-5 had extra animation after them. So, to avoid confusion, I simply made the timings on the circles show what each inbetween timing would actually look like.
I feel like one of the biggest things people get wrong about animation is that the frame rate drops when something is animated on 2s or 3s. It’s not. There is a difference between frames per second and drawings per second. Drawing on twos is not the same as drawing at 12 fps. The fps is still 24, but the amount of drawings within those 24 frames is what is actually changing. With that said, I don’t really consistently animate on twos, I like using a combination of ones, twos, and threes for movements to make em more dynamic. Of course, that’s just preference on my end. Is there a preferred method for how you animate?
I tend to animate on both ones and twos. I try to make my animation more like the classic style of animation, before people started using threes and fours more often in indie productions.
Great video! And loved the Son of the Mask reference!
Not sure if you saw Inside Out 2 yet, but according to the trailers, there’s a scene in the movie that’s full of animation discs.
And spawned many a meme. Happy 30 to Lion King!!
wow
Excellent vid .What I like it more (CC) is on .
