I had a late ‘83 one in all-white like this, I bought it with 50k on the clock in early ‘89 as my 1st car on my 18th birthday when you could begin to insure hot hatches. You mention the flimsy doors - well I can’t agree as it felt like it was built like a tank compared to the contemporary 205GTi and R5 Turbo ! Best thing about it - those Recaros, dropped on the GTE Mk2 to save costs. The best standard-fit car seats EVER!
