Was this film a worthy addition to the franchise or was there only a need for just one film in this universe? Let us know in the comments below! INSIDE OUT 2: The Same Thing Again | Movie Review
Переглядів 2,5 тис.4 місяці тому
Inside Out 2 just released in theaters this weekend, and while it's certainly not a bad film, it's unclear what about this film warranted a sequel. Yes, the inclusion of the Anxiety character works well for this story of burgeoning puberty, but the resolution essentially is the same as the first movie's. What do you think? More of the same or something new and special? LETTERBOXD: letterboxd.co...

This week Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes came out and I have some opinions about it... Shocking. Overall, this is worth a watch in the theaters, even if you won't leave as emotionally impacted as the previous films may have left you. Go see it, please. Give movies that aren't bad money too! Welcome back all you buddies with your prospective film degrees! We're here today to talk about a very influential series to myself: The Planet of the Apes. Kinda like Jake when thinking for more than 5 minutes on that weird superhero challenge video from a year and a half ago. Anyways, come ...

Welcome back all you buddies with your prospective film degrees! We're here today to talk about a very influential series to myself: The Planet of the Apes. You’re right. It’s not Mark Wahlberg. lol
👏
yeah the message is def don’t have a son‼️
AI is coming to cover the tomb.
I agree with Avery. The theme of the film is don't get bullied.
I knew this series will definitely suck. I don't get why fans in the new generation like the series but when I saw the show it was very slow and dumber. I like the original movies with the cast better because they're teenagers or young adults themes for maturity that I enjoyed as a kid. Also, the fight scenes were more energetic, and the best scenes alike Las Vegas are better than the remake. They made the characters terrible and were completely forgettable. I understand the book is inaccurate that fans complaining about the OG movies over the changes, the remake version is basically a downgraded version of it that was a rip off from Scooby Doo Mystery Solving. There are a lot of storylines that make no sense and wasn't realistic.
24:00 This right here is why for the last 10-15 years I have preferred movies/drama series from Japan and South Korea. Movies and TV shows from the US seem deathly afraid of making their audience feel anything. Conversely, shows from Japan and South Korea exhibit no such fear. Like, when is the last time you watched a show from the greater US entertainment industry that made you cry?
RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK 😃 8/10 😃 TEMPLE OF DOOM 🎃10/10 🎃 LAST CRUSADE ✝️ 8/10 ✝️ THE END
I really miss the Kyle Era...
I will say it bluntly - agendas. When you impose agendas into movies (whatever they may be), it usually stifles creativity, and the most important part of the movie - The Story - suffers. Let directors make the movie they want to without tying one hand behind their back.
Have you considered comparing the adaptations of "Mo Dao Zu Shi"?
Never mention citizen cane again, it sucks so hard.
A definitely underrated clasic! Also, a whole host of big name musical talent. Debbie Harry, Iggy Pop, Earth Wind and Fire. The soundtrack alone makes this a must watch. The DVD commentary offers up considerable information about this film. One that surprised me was that I assumed the part with Ohmar performing near the beginning, jumping and sliding on stage, I assumed it was rotoscope. NO! The director insists they did no rotoscope anywhere in the film. And yes, Moc is intended to resemble Mick Jagger.
"I've never really been one to promote or advocate for things like drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anybody... But...um... but yeah, they've always worked for me." Hunter Stockton Thompson
Cheers, lads!
To echo your commendable work here in directing attention to works one often finds have gone shamefully unnoticed even by folks like us with a passion for obscure/niche media, I offer a movie recommendation. This is one of those flicks that I always prescribe be first seen as did I, knowing nothing but the title. If you can find a way to watch it, I beg you, please treat yourself to watching "Hard Core Logo." I NEED someone else to talk to about this great movie.
I am happy to be counted amongst those who is familiar with this flick, having seen it an indeterminate number of times, but timeS (plural) nonetheless. As to its quality, I can only speak for myself but I enjoy it. As is my personal custom, the first channel I encounter covering a piece of obscure media that even the obscure media discourse overlooks, I am left no choice but to autosubscribe to your channel. Well met!
In terms of artstyle, this film is like an adult take on the Goofy Movie lmao
I own the special Edition Blu ray!!! Now I need a 4k
a detail about Omar singing along side is that he knows the lyrics perfectly. implying that for all of his protest about her song, he still learned it
I saw that movie on TV by accident when I was a kid. then spend years looking for it until I finally found a DVD of it and I cherish it
I actually disagree that this hasn't found its cult, it just isn't in the places you've looked I think.
We could certainly use more members 😆
I'm not sure I'd categorize this as 'cultless'. Nelvana animation from the 80s had that weird Canadian vibe that a lot of people latched onto, myself included. I grew up with this stuff, and fondly recall their tv specials like Witch's Night Out and A Cosmic Christmas. It was welcome relief considering the chum bucket of sameness that made up most of the commercialized animation being churned out during the 80s. I've watched this one several times because there's just so much to love about it. The animation is gorgeous and the music just makes it. I unironically adore 'My Name is Mok', written and performed by Lou Reed. I will admit it was only just now that I understood Ohmtown to mean hometown. A bit slow on the uptake. Anyway, I really enjoyed your presentation. Great insights and your comedic timing is spot on. There's a slew of reviewers out there with tons of subscribers who don't understand how to use humor well.
Oh thank Lemmy, I thought I was alone in my enjoyment of Mok's take on the familiar trope of the "reveling in my villainy" song.
ROCK N RULE BABY
This is wild. Love you guys and support y’all all the way
I had forgotten I’d seen this when I was a kid.
unless your dad is Canadian; I was at a Rolling Stones concert last week. thought of this movie
Never seen it, but I am familiar with it.
I thought we were supposed to save the cat?
The word you were reaching for was parallel or analogy.
Just found your channel. Absolutely awesome sauce!

Is this channel woke? I'm looking for a new channel to binge-watch, but I can't stand woke shit...
lol no, I would say probably not
Only a 7/10? I thought it was a 10/10 movie!
I think you should go and watch the movie again.😇
Letterboxd is goated with the sauce
I always read the MJ "kiss me" moment as her testing to see if peter is SpiderMan, the way she did with John
The cat is a trans dog😆🙃
bro is onto nothing
Unfortunately, this film feels like a result of cashing in on an IP and sounds like it suffers from a lot of the same problems that the Acolyte has. Also prequels are hard to pull off.
I think the puberty angle might have been interested if they focused on the console enhancing Riley's emotions, except for Joy.
i felt that the message of inside out 2 was more like dont let your emotions control you? mainly because the whole belief system thingy created by her emotions was replaced and she grew her own?
Watch the movie it was great. I cried and it was healing for the whole theater 😂. I took my niece and we had a great time ❤
8/10
Inside out 1 and 2 are 1000/10
Monsters universitātes is a master piece i like it a ļoti beter the insde out 2 id dint even like inside out 2 i even think that monsters universitātes is beter the monsters INC!
Kinda agree except that you think Monsters University is better than Inside Out 2.
Yeah I thought so too.
i like how the second movie added in focus on self worth. instead of just being about embracing/accepting the feelings that all of your emotions bring, it also concludes with the message of embracing EVERYTHING about yourself. also the concept of being okay with not knowing what is going to happen and knowing you will be okay. in the first film, riley is focused solely on her past - wanting to get back to it. in the second, she is entirely worried about her future. i think the only reason these films would feel similar is that it is the same concept, but at different stages of life (emotional/physical change, how an 11 year old processes it vs. a 13 year old). so in that, they are unique from each other, but they are going to have similarities bc it's still riley, just older. i also agree with another commenter that stated that this movie will hit harder if you can relate to the anxiety take over feelings that riley experiences. as someone who has been living with chronic anxiety for 5 years, it was a freaking bullet train. almost a bit more than puss and boots hit bc this time it was not animals in a battle to the death (literally), but humans in a very realistic and easily relatable setting to our own lives. we were all 13 year olds at one point surrounded by other teenagers/human beings trying to fit in socially, wanting people to like us. the entire movie building up to that anxiety attack was orchestrated brilliantly and so realistically, and the show of her coming down from it and having mindfulness of her surroundings and just the calm of everything (i remember thinking the vibes of the hockey rink are so different now from our perspective after that climax, i wondered if it was like that the entire time but we could not tell bc we are in riley's mind). overall i think both movies had their own super great and unique messages, and that i am glad the second one was made. i hope the second one is also shown in schools, especially to the big and growing population of preteen/teens that are living with anxiety and struggling with self worth. great video!!
I’m pretty sure they very specifically showed Joy’s growth and change of attitude from the first movie to show it wasn’t the same movie with a different antagonist
In side out
