Touring Northern Ireland: Londonderry l The Bogside l The Muriel's l and The Memorial's.
It was my first time in Londonderry and didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised by the warmth of the people and the Architecture and History of the Troubles which started in 1969. I walked to the Bogside to look at the muriel's and memorial's and chatted to an elderly lady she had lived in the USA for 35 years returning 20 years ago to live in the Bogside where she was born. There are walking tours available to tell you all the history of Bloody Sunday and the Civil Rights Marches. #londonderry

After spending two nights on the banks of Lough Erne at Ely Lodge Forest near Enniskillen. I drove to Tully Castle where I spent another night and met a beautiful friendly dog who just wanted to play. After a couple of days/nights stay in the Marina car park Donaghadee. It was time to leave, heading along the coast towards Portaferry to catch the ferry across to Strangford (I kept saying Stranraer) d'oh! After spending a few days in Bangor with family I then drove along the coastline stopping off at Ballyholme Bay, Groomsport and Donaghadee. The coastline is amazing and beautiful I definitely recommend visiting. Such a beautiful city but with such a heartbreaking history. A beautiful and very informative video. Thank you very much. I really enjoyed it but it left me feeling a bit sad after seeing all those murals and memorials.
Londonderry definitely surprised me with its history and yes the sad part, not only Londonderry but to all of Northern Ireland over 30 years of conflict of which I grew up in. Coming from a Protestant background I felt the need to go down to the Bogside to see for myself. As hard as it was for me! Thank you ....😊

Such beautiful scenery. I especially loved the memorial garden in Omagh and the memorial at the site of the atrocity. Loved the journey from Omagh as the sun was going down. Thank you very much for the tour.
My pleasure Sue 👍 I thought you'd notice the orange colour of the sun reflecting on the trees the sunset was amazing! It was very sad at the memorial garden in Omagh I felt I needed to go. A tragic day and a tragic 30 years of violence hopefully never returns🙏 Take care x 😊

I kinda decided when I was in Dunbar. I just needed to get my meds in Berwick upon Tweed. Yea I arrived here 4 days ago on the 5th Sept. It was a calm crossing and sunny which made it a nice day! 😊

It was a lovely walk and perfect weather for it too. I love Highland coos too. They always seem so gentle, even with those horns. I liked the seal sculpture too.

@@suefoxon5531 There was another seal sculpture on the way I think they were to sit on for a rest. It was quite steep in places but a lovely walk and, loved those coos 🐮☺️

@@gd4997 Wow that's a lot! It's become a very popular stopover! I was here a year ago Arthur scroll down my videos I think I have two about Hawick! I didn't actually go into the cafe I remember it was very busy at the time. Today I went for a walk around the park and the museum was boarded up I spoke to a couple and asked if it was closed 🔒 the said it's closed on a Tuesday open tomorrow lol so might go back I think it's going to be a nice day! I had a nice walk around the park after a large Scottish breakfast in Wetherspoons to burn off the calories 😷

Great video Mac. When we were there, maybe 2 or 3 days after you, the old shed you referred to was being used as a changing room by half a dozen or so young men and women. All together in the all together 😏😏 But its a great spot. We will be back.

That was a nice stopover place. Can't complain at £10 for a full day but that sounds like one of the most expensive places that you've stayed.

It makes you wonder how many of these places are around the country and probably for the elite not us! Knowing what we know now hiding under a table won't help much! It shows how it was long ago or the ignorance of what Nuclear weapons could actually do. Obliterate us! ☢️😱 Thanks for your comment 😊
That was really interesting but scary. I remember living through that time when there was a real possibility that we'd be obliterated. We were given a booklet at school. One of the suggestions was that we take refuge under a table if a nuclear bomb was aimed at us!!!

Robbie Blyth and his team at Fife Coast and Countryside Trust (FCCT) have done a fantastic job opening up car parks for overnighting and it is so important that we acknowledge those efforts and DONATE as requested - DONATE does not mean FREE. Eastwards, up the coast Ruby Bay is a great overnight stop. Enjoy ....

One of Sandwich's many lovely spots. Had another peaceful stroll around the reserve yesterday. Sat by the lake and found it very relaxing. Met a young man there who was quite into nature conservation and several young families enjoying the nice weather! The volunteers are doing a great job preserving this lovely spot!

They all had so much character,not like today's when it's hard to tell one plane or car from another. Enjoyed going round the museum with you, thank you.
Well spotted yes it was at the Vanlife Fest, I was surprised to see it here. I'm sitting having a cup of tea at the Museum using my free ticket it's beautiful weather today! It's quite busy. I love the old classic cars and motorbikes, like you said they don't make them like that anymore. This place is full of history and nostalgia. Glad you enjoyed the tour I had to cut a lot out as there is a lot to see. ☺️
