How to START your PERSONAL STATEMENT
Starting the personal statement is difficult. Not only is it a pain to figure out what to write about, but simply starting is a daunting process. This video is designed to be a guided 3 step exercise to coach you through getting started on your personal statement.
It goes over the 4 main pieces of content to include, relevant examples, as well an example of my personal statement which got me interviews at Oxford, UCL, Kings College London and Birmingham.
Please make the most of this video by using it as an exercise, and follow along by creating the list and making annotations on pen and paper!!

Bro made it sound so simple 😭 I’m in year 9 so when do you think I should start preparing for my GCSE’s I’ve been watching your channel for a while as I am also interested in studying med at ucl as my uncle did too but I fear that I may end up studying too late and not pass my ucat exam or my A levels or even GCSE’s so can you please make a video about pacing yourself throughout your education by the way keep up the great content it’s really gave me a good insight on how a med student lives their life
Why are you holding a makeup brush?
Solid video Eeshaan, keep them coming!

Hey loved the vlog! Btw are you marathi?
Most working class people have to work instead being able to go to college and the medical industry is fucking the working class
Hey mate any advice for me starting med school next week? Your vids helped alot in the admission process even thoigh im not in UK
hey sorry i just saw this but hope med schools going well!!
Are you ok?
Awesome, thanks for sharing!
I got into Oxford🙃 guess some people arnt capable of it unfortunately, nice to hear you got a no in your life for once though. Life isn’t made for you. Probably gonna go to some uni in London and be a cog in the machine 😅
I think the simplest way to deal with the pain of a rejection such as this is to recognise that there are other perfectly good alternative routes to follow that will let you achieve your career goals. That although having an Oxford degree would have made it a little easier to find work and promotions etc, than having a UCL degree, there isn't all that much of a difference, and you can focus on actual jobs skills instead in order to show them you have the required capabilities. As an aside, I went to Cambridge, and for me at any rate it was too difficult and killed my sense of optimism. Killed the spell. And it is only now, some 30 years later, that I am regaining my sense of hope and ambition in my workplace.
Do you need maths alevel to get into medicine?
Yes !
No, but it’s helpful/ nice complement with chemistry (which is a usual mandatory)
No, unless you want to go to Cambridge, who wants 3 maths/science A-Levels.
Sup G, I’m in Year 12. Imma go for Oxford Medicine too. Got any tips or anything to help me get in?
Yea, study
@69RV bc like…urmmm… maybe like he knows stuff I don’t? Or like he knows what exams to do? Idk
Great reflection on your disappointment. There will be many more to come but it looks like you can handle them well. Your handwriting on the post-it note is far too good for a doctor, you will need to practice illegible scribbling before you qualify. Best wishes and good luck in the future.
Nah but that picture of the weekend be looking like lil uzi vert having a seizure
What is bmat
biomedical admissions test (no longer in use)
@@EeshaanGhanekarhehehe just as I switch my 4th choice for UCL (I've only taken UCAT ;))
Hey I have been watching your videos for a while and I just want to say thank you for all the insight, I am in year 13 and just finished applying to medical school
thanks so much for the support!! hope the application goes well :)

Hmm.
Do you have to do presentations as a med student?
This is UCL, right?
yes!
Great video btw Keep up the good work, brother!
Hello, what if you get a low UCAT score? what do you do
Depends on what you mean by low, if you’re talking about 2000 then definitely look for a uni that doesn’t look at UKAT score or has a lesser emphasis on it - I think Anglia Ruskin or East Anglia would be a good option. If you’re thinking about 2600, then you should have a lot more options. I think medic mind has a good page on universities by UCAT score - anything above 2800 will get you into any uni pretty much - this is for med. For dentistry if you’re not getting at least 2800 I would advise against applying for dentistry - just my opinion. Btw, if this is your first year taking it, don’t worry as if you’re open to the idea of taking a gap year, you can just take a gap year and retake it. Theres also clearing which might give you an opportunity to get into a uni - provided you do well enough at a levels. Hope this helps 😊
why did you do ucat if you were applying to UCL?
Badminton is great
👍
Thanks for sharing but on your thumbnail you had put a 1250 UKCAT book but have not mentioned about it at all. Do you prefer interactive resources only .
Hi!! Yes, I was recommended that the book is not as good as online resource plus its best to practice using the computer to simulate the actual exam environment
