So the first is a light layer then you refrigerate.? Then you follow up with the 2nd layer of frosting which makes it easier to frost the cake!?

How are you coloring and making the icing (I don’t know if it’s called icing 😅😅) bc mine never tastes good and the colors aren’t very strong
@@sophiestephan6943 I use buttercream colored with gel food coloring, and some shades need time to sit and deepen for the best results. The first mistake I had to learn the hard way, I had a "good friend" try to gaslight me into thinking she already had paid me and acted very angry when I asked for payment. I had only charged her $20 for a nicely decorated two tier 9" round birthday cake. I even made happy birthday letters out in chocolate.

Trying to decide how far I wanna go into this. I do have a regular job during the week. I remember when my mom use to always make pound cakes for people for free. Now I make them am set a price and increase the price. I really need to promote more .

Yesss!! What made you starting baking?
@@HeavenMyCake wheeew, I’m on year 25!!! Part time for 22 of those yrs. I’ve always worked(single mom, kids were younger….). Anywho, cheesy story: in Dec 99, company i was with shut down. Right before, i had baked a box cake(lemon duncan hines), put my own lil special touches (fresh lemon juice, grated zest & extra sugar😄) for a co-worker’s bday because his wife was ill & couldn’t do it. He bragged abt it to another guy who asked for one to slice up for the office, i took 2 slices to my mom, she loved it, two weeks later begged me to bake one for her job (like less than 24 hr notice😃), i had 2 interviews for the next day but mom really wanted it, so she says “i’ll pay you”!! So i said to myself, “hmm if my own mom will pay me to bake a cake, someone else will!!” (I literally have been asking God what am I going to do now since my job had ended🙏). Word of mouth & some cheesy flyers my kids & I handed out and almost 25 yrs later!! Nine months ago I resigned from Bank of America to get some healing(lost my son, his dad, his mom, my god mom, a nephew & few others during pandemic😢) & to do my baking & crafting full time for a little bit….not sure why I haven’t started a UA-cam channel yet.🤷🏽♀️ Anywho, thanks for listening. I didn’t mean for it to be this long!!😄
