Scott Williams back then used the blue crowquill Gillott nibs which have a brushy quality, he only switched to brushes in the Batman run.

You can tell Jim was probably just doing breakdowns/plotting with the least amount of pencil to paper and someone else in his studio was cleaning things up. Lots of rushed work even in the coloring.

This is prime-time Jim Lee art-work,Lee at his best.And of course gotta give a big shout-out to Scott Williams's inks that really makes Lee's art-POP. Lee's and William's run on X-Men was-GREAT-back in the day,I remember i couldn't wait for the next issue of X-Men to drop back then.

To defend himself, this tool went on to say “I use a pencil, Maya, Adobe, Houdini, Rhino, Renderman, Procreate + OVER 12 AI PROGRAMS” Let me repeat that…OVER 12 ai programs 😐 Not only did he admit to using ai in his defense against apparently NOT using ai…he can’t even do simple math 🤦‍♂️🤣 My dude…SEVEN tools listed that aren’t ai. But then outright says 12 F**KING AI PROGRAMS ?! You’ve quite literally stated that you use nearly DOUBLE the amount of ai, versus the amount of ACTUAL work that you do. You can’t make this stuff up. People are actually this stupid 🤯 For real…how can you defend yourself and say “But look guys !!! I use all this legitimate stuff 😢 ….. But also, I use MORE ai 👍😉” Legitimate idiot

These inks are basically impossible level, specially today with the decline in the quality of art tools and paper.

Always thought when he started out, he was trying to be a Jim Lee clone to get his foot in the door. The hatching, faces and especially the mouths were all very Jim Lee. But he developed quickly into a more "graphic design" style with his framing and composition as well as his rendering. It was an amazing and unexpected path but he's one of my all time GOATs now.

I don’t think I’ll EVER pick up a Joe Mad book again. One of the most talented artists out there who will only draw a few issues or covers to fund his video game addiction and then he’ll quit mid story on fans with no explanation. He did this with Battlechasers multiple times until around issues 9 where he ghosted everyone on the title permanently after telling fans he would finish the book. Then he did some covers for Marvel was eventually given his own Spider-Man title which, you guessed it, ghosted the title after 2-3 issues. I refuse to give my money to a creative that quits mid story only because he was more committed to playing Final Fantasy or Metal Gear than finishing a book he started or signed on for only for him to ditch the very fans that paid for his success.
