At 2:15 Tony starts his solo and looks at Wyatt gives him the back up look 😂😂. I’ve seen this a million times just noticed it.
Vince has got the song mixed up compared to nitty gritty dirt band version with alison

Man, this song always brings out the absolute best in the musicians on stage. They always laugh at each other’s solos and the insanity that ensues during each one. Fucking love it 🎶
Good stuff, but Wyatt deserved a go as well.
Tony and Crowe in Blue coat era. Untouchable. By the way I absolutely hate the way every guitar player now days plays the g run at the end of the intro speak/play and smack the guitar DOWNBEAT INTRO. Listen to how Tony plays the rythym after the G run and how Crowe comes in to the music. Totally different that anybody playin that song these days.
This is awesome!
Just listen to New Market Gap and see his Discography on Wikipedia. Wyatt is rock solid, and a beautiful and expressive player in his own right.

Tony, there’s is so much more of life than precision. Find your soul, gut, sensitivties. I’m 69 so I know a little about covering my pain.
I worked at Paul’s Saloon. I met many of the great bluegrass favorites. I knew John Riesman, Todd Phillips, David and on one occasion Darrol Anger. Darol was the passion, fire and sweet peach of the music. Still my gem in music history. I do not know him but if I was at all musical I would sweat blood to take lesson from him .
Gives me chills in the best way!

Jimmy!!!
Wyatt doin’ some Testafiyin’!
Look at Wyatt standing beside his brother, he's a fantastic player as well and grabbing chords and holding it down.
Doesn't get any better than that
Fairchild, Little Roy Lewis, Bill Monroe, and Crowe?! Wow, those folks got their money's worth!
Tony - It might be a good idea if you listed the venue of all of Tony Rice's videos.
Who's playing the fiddle?
Wow...I have a friend with the same name, but he's a bassist. He's a good fiddler!@@6412mars

Thank you for sharing this, the audio isnt ideal, but its a massive peice of bluegrass history!
All good though, my right ear loved every second of it.
This is a Pat Metheny tune I think. "The Fields, the Sky" Phenomenal stuff
Zane is a genius guitar player. Wish more people knew how talented he is. A chip off the old block!
Wow!! Alison is singing harmony with Vince here and what an Awesome Contribution.....with the The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band....she sings lead vocal and NGDB back HER with harmony and Jerry Douglas plays FANTASTIC dobro....adding to the band's own fine quality a LOT extra.....same as Alison with her Classy and Sweet Vocals! Alison makes ANYONE sound 100 times BETTER than their OWN fine qualities themselves!! She ADDS SO MUCH MORE!!
Can really hear Tony shine here, he had a certain way around rhythm like this
Man they were ON this day geez! And the recording is amazing, they really captured Tony's dynamic rhythm playing, especially behind the fiddle and mando breaks ... it's just so coool aaaahh!
I hope the camera person has learned how to handle that contraption by now!
Solid banjo playing Ron.
Gotta be my fave instrumental. Can't enough, especially when it is played so well!!!
Can’t believe we lose a national treasure
Nice 👌
I agree, Alison’s much better , professionally turned out, and a lot easier on the eye, and can she play that fiddle?
I'll never forget the time two of my buddies and I went to see the Tony Rice Unit at Gettysburg. After watching Tony's set, my one buddy turned to the other and said, "So, what did you learn after watching them?" My other buddy, without cracking a smile said "I learned that I'll never be able to play like Tony Rice." Sadly both of my buddies are gone now, and so is Tony. I really miss those days.
Love it 4:42 "MOTHER F#@KER!"
Dang! Del in the background, Dawg, Flux, Skaggs, O'Connor, Simpkins, Dr Banjo and directing everything with a simple nod, the great Tony Rice. Pardon me while I pick my jaw up off the floor
Outstanding. That mandolin shines too
Fiddle Who?
