This is a rough look at flights, lounges, hotels etc.
Short through to longer clips using a Sony Hi-8; Canon camera; Note 10; Samsung S23 Ultra etc. with little to no editing.
There will be a mixture of general tourist things, economy through to first class. Most will be realistic price wise.
Recent things back to a few years ago
Sage Barista Express opening, and how badly I try and do something with it.
Ryanair from Manchester to Vienna and back.
Happy for any feedback postive or negative.
Do you want me to give a running commentary through videos?

Crowne Plaza Hesperia in Helsinki
Originally booked a flight from Manchester to Helsinki with Finnair, with the plan of spending the day in the city before flying to Oslo in the evening.
The flight arrived into HEL about 2.5hrs late (was hoping for 3hrs to get something like £400 compensation).
Missed the last train to the city at 01:22, and the next bus was around 2am (30 min wait for that, 50 min bus ride and then a 15 min walk on icy surfaces to my hotel).
Just paid €35 for a taxi and was there before 2am.
Anyway, booked probably the cheapest room for about £98 and was upgraded a day or two before to a better room. Checked in at the hotel and was given a Juinior Suite (not sure if this comes with lounge access, although I've got a lounge ge pass with IHG that would have got me access anyway).
Decent location. 15-20 walk to the city centre, or there's a team stop 2-3 mins away.
Nice lake across the street. Great for running around.
As said in the video, there's a nice grocery store behind the hotel for snacks etc.
Breakfast wise, a decent enough selection. Not sure if you can order omelettes etc. from the kitchen?
Some vegan, gluten free etc. bits.
Mango smoothie was nice.
(sausage wise, prefer British pork sausages to the smoked / chicken ones that seem to be in Europe and the US).
Potatoes always a plus for me :)
As i arrived late, didn't do as much as I would have liked i.e. the gym, out for a a run etc.

Manchester Airport Terminal 1 shopping area and a quick look at the Aspire Lounge
Переглядів 2716 годин тому
Was flying Finnair from Manchester to Helsinki in economy (fare was a superlight fare with a small bag @ £84). Since I have silver status / One World Sapphire status with British Airways, I can use fast track security, lounges etc. at various places. Took a quick lounge at where the lounges are, and whilst very uninspiring, there's a lot more up there than I realised. No issues getting into the...
A night at the Holiday Inn at Helsinki Airport
Переглядів 4121 день тому
Stayed at the Holiday Inn at Helsinki Airport for a couple of nights whilst popping up to Oslo etc. Good rate of around £76 a night. Took breakfast as my choice of welcome amenity as an IHG Diamond member. Easy to get to by the free bus. Stops at 3 hotels, the Holiday Inn being the first, and then two adjacent Scandic hotels around the corner. Maybe 10 mins each way, so not a lot more than walk...
Complimentary food & drink in a premium room at the Holiday Inn Manchester Airport
Переглядів 821 день тому
Just a look at the complimentary food and drink in a premium room at the Holiday Inn, Manchester Airport (UK). 3 soft drinks, although only one was sugar free. I do like the lounge at the Crowne Plaza as you can help yourself to more Pepsi Max. Last time I stayed, they had Piper's Crisps in the room. Not sure if they've changed brand to Kettle (not as good in my opinion), or its a case of what ...
Heathrow Terminal 3 to Helsinki in business class on Finnair AY1366

Quick look at Heathrow Terminal 3, some food in the lounges and a bit of the onboard service. Cost was around £300 with an overnight in Helsinki before I flew to Oslo next day.
Comfort Hotel in Gothenburg, Sweden
Переглядів 79Місяць тому
A quick look at room 109 of the Comfort Hotel in Gothenburg, Sweden. Stayed after my flight from London Heathrow to Oslo got diverted to Gothenburg due to fog. Had walked past this hotel on a previous visit, so knew roughly where it was. Maybe 10 minutes walk from the Central train and bus station, and slightly under that to the Nordsten shopping centre. Tram stop outside the hotel and the wate...
Hounslow West to the Premier Inn at Heathrow T4
Переглядів 146Місяць тому
Start to a cheap trip to San Diego. Badly planned and costs going up a bit! Anyway, BA wanted £200-£320 to fly from Manchester to Heathrow, so I drove down instead, parking at the Hounslow West tube station. Will find out what that costs when I return in a few days. Originally was going to drive down overnight, but decided a bed for the night would be better. The Premier Inn at T4 was £62, so a...
Premier Inn Runger Lane South (Manchester Airport)
Переглядів 4312 місяці тому
A quick 5-10 minute or so walk from the near by Romper Pub, which apparently does some decent food, to the Premier Inn South on Runger Lane. Premier Inn South and north, and the Holiday Inn Express all share the same area. A Delta hotel (Marriott?) is hear as well. Believe you can use a shuttle for around £5 per person, get a taxi for a little over £10 to the airport. £12 a day to park your car...

Does the bean make a difference with the Sage Barista Express?
Переглядів 1135 місяців тому
Nothing professional in this video. I'll eventually figure out how to film smoothly and do things at the same time! You'll need to put the volume up as I wasn't using a microphone. Anyway, I've been trying out different coffee beans from Beanz.com Been trying out the darker roast ones and this time I bought a 220-225g bag of Crow Tree and Ozone. Same 18g of beans. Internal grinder untouched. Ex...
Walking up the south tower of St. Stephens church in Vienna in Austria
Переглядів 535 місяців тому
It was listed as a tourist attraction in Vienna and the price was right, so I thought "why not!" It's a bit of a climb with 343 winding steps each way. Reviews are pretty much accurate when they say you can't go outside. I assumed there were 360 degree views, but you're limited to 4 small windows that have bars on them and may be locked shut. Didn't look at the rest of the church / Domkirche St...

1987 ! And blimey there's Mark Heap at around 48:00
Judging by your comments, you have never stayed in a standard hotel in a Nordic country before. It's not always easy being British in the big wide world.😢
Hi Scott. Is the entrance to Premier Inn on the ground level as you walk into the terminal on the right hand side or is it up a level ( as some video's suggest!)
The entrance (just a podium possibly for directing people?) is on the same level as departures. Don't think the tunnel is sloped. Reception / main entrance though is one floor down from the tunnel, with the road etc. outside. There are lifts and stairs though if you have baggage.
Sorry Scott I meant as you walk into the actual T4 - is the entrance to the tunnel on the ground floor of T4, or level 1 of T4 , or level 2 of T4 ( as you say " Signs for everything but hotels ") Many thanks
@djsguitars01 The tunnel entrance is on whatever level departures / check-in is. The hotel entrance / reception via taxis or buses is on a lower level. Not sure if that's the "official" ground level or things are built on slopes, higher up etc.
Well, booked a little bit later as some of my travel plans got messed up. Sometimes they do the A350 on the 18:10 flight, but that and the 16:15 flights were A321's that day, so i took the earlier one. Did get the A350 on my return to LHR. Will put some bits up for that when I get around to it.
Thanks for the report! Pity you didn't get their A350, , my absolute favourite aitcraft on HEL-LHR,
how to book tickets ?
I miss both the airline and the airport 😢 ❤️ 🪦

That’s an Airbus wing. Is it not EasyJet?
@Jeyroon1 Ryanair operated by Lauda. It was an A320 rather than the general Boeing 737s that Ryanair use in their colours.
for Rolling loud? lol😂
I was there that day. 1 month away from turning age 7. I remember being next to Safeway with my mum, sister and friends. Good times. Thankyou for sharing
Thank you for posting this. I'm actually a writer from Yeovil and featuring this event in my latest book, but (up until now) could not find any footage of the show online. It's going to be very useful!
Cool! My cousin works here! Great video.
Sad to think that this footage is exactly 2 years before the attacks. Imagine being there and say that in 730 days the Emprire State building would be once again the tallest building in New York.
I was the small child dressed as a matchstick 😅😅
That's the NYC I grew up. I graduated out of elementary school back in 1999. I went on the roof of the South Tower as a child back in 1994. I was fourteen years old when the Twin Towers were destroyed. I miss them everyday.....
I just found that Phil Cornwell also voiced the puppet on ITVs short lived Saturday Morning show WOW in 1996, and it’s literally Gilbert Mk2.
Charlotte Hindle daughter of Madge Hindle who played Renee Roberts in Coronation Street and Charlotte is Married to the Travel expert Simon Calder.
I’m sure the voice of Glibert worked on Stellar Street in the 1990’s on BBC2
Correct. Phil Cornwell.
Charlotte was right. Coventry defeated Spurs 😂😂. Also happy childhood memories before turning 10

Good to see more from Get Fresh! I really hope someone would preserve more episodes of this, i really enjoyed it. Also i love an actual continuity CITV clip that includes Zippy and George on the set, i thought it was included as a inside joke in one of the Rainbow episodes where Bungle watches them appear on live TV.
Why are they no end credits, or have I missed them?
Not sure if UA-cam removed all but 1 frame or so due to some copyrighted music playing as they are on my original copy.
Naf Naf. Fashion of the day.
Amazing stuff, thanks for bringing this back to the world, especially Get Mucky!
Superb upload - thanks so much!
Charlotte Hindle 💖💖💖💖💖💖
Do you have any more get fresh from 87/88. Happy to buy them if you do if not planning to upload.
Only one unfortunately. As I mentioned, recorded it as it was local and I was there.
The TSW endcap on card seems a bit primative for the late 80’s.
that mullet tho..
I've seen at least one person recently with a mullet, so someone still likes them!
@@scottstravel6179 Generation Z have brought them back xD
I was 'In the crowd" twice [Plymouth and Newquay shows]
Did you record any?
Oddly I found clips on here, B52s playing at the Plymouth one and Spear of Destiny at the Newquay one [With me waving, kid with a 110 mini camera] @@TheMudfinger
Had a secondary school friend Video the Plymouth one for me, my Family didn't even HAVE a VHS at the time@@TheMudfinger
Thanks. Do you still have it?
No, all VHS got thrown out a long time ago/damp in my parents house trashed them, that's why I was happy to find clips here on UA-cam, I keep toying with buying a replica GET FRESH T shirt off RedBubble too@@TheMudfinger
I Swear to god that my father loved Gilbert and would tape this and pretend it was taped for me and my little brother. He found this kids tv show puppet absolutely hilarious.
I would really like a copy of this, can you send me one?
it never worked, live audiences, too chaotic, loads of continuity delays, and who cares about cheese and snakes. This episode makes anyone born in the 70s seem geeks. and that alien was wank.
Think it's on of these things that seemed great back in the day when you were in school, but now quite cringeworthy. The Yeovil one was probably the poorest one in my opinion, but each to their own. More exciting knowing there were tv cameras and every time one moved, trying to get in front of it to be on tv ;)
I can see why you'd think that but it was just his runny nose.
fk, i assumed he was a spnk monster@@mixtapesfrommylatepartner
Children will watch all kinds of things you put in front of them. What you think in hindsight or through an adult lens can't change that. If lots of kids watched it, then it probably worked.
Gilbert...what a legend
Charlotte? I would have!
Not the only one. I absolutely fancied her as a kid. She used to make the milk in my Coco Pops turn Chocolatey 😂
@@KINGMONKEY1989 👍😁😈
Given the state of Get Fresh in the archives, you may have the only copy of this in existance!
Doesn't Gaz Top have every episode on VHS?
@@antster1983 No idea. I know it was often only taped for compliance purposes onto VHS and those are now at the BFI.
looks acceptable for a Holiday Inn
It's not as bad as some reviews on say Tripadvisor make it out to be. Yes, some bits are dated, and a bit of localised cleaning in some areas would be of some benefit, but no worse than your average British Airways plane ;) Staff are friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was enjoyable with a good mixture.
@@scottstravel6179 talk about damning with faint praise ;)
@@sliceserve234 Well, a lot of Holiday Inns and Crowne Plazas aren't the most modern in places, but do have a lot of good features. Sure any hotel, regardless of price, has faults if you look for them. Suits me when I'm in the area, and if it wasn't up to scratch, I wouldn't return (i.e. Hilton Garden Inn at Hatton Cross near Heathrow - will never set foot in that again due to the staff)
Very nice video. I love them barking. Would like to see these animals in person. So cool.
Go to see them every time I'm in San Francisco. There tends to be a lot more in the summer months where there's more squabbling over the prime lounging spots.

Unfortunately not. Whether it ever opens again is anyone's guess. Plenty of tourists about now Covid has "ended", so I'm assuming other reasons. At least I got to experience it.

Sure I had more of this, but just can't seem to find it.
