GTB1756vk CR TDI Top Speed Attempt - Thrown CEL
Kinda bogged the launch and had some bad shifts but did the best I could one handed. No stored codes and no issues a few weeks later. My best guess is that the tune was requesting more fuel than the stock hpfp could push out. CP3 will be installed soon.

In case you couldn't tell this video was made my someone who knows nothing of video editing. It was just to show some guys back home. Also, sorry about the loud audio. UA-cam offers no way to reduce it.
I have a question, I have an Audi A3 2012 2.0 TDI, can I eliminate the emission without having the tune??
I got my stock 15 to 135 136 that’s all the turbo has. Maybe it has to do with tune
@@toolittlety I've had it to 140 now but it was a hot day (103°) and I could tell it was not happy. Would like to do another run with some cooler weather.
God damn!!!! I’m building my 15’ jetta I’m doing a gtd1456 Malone stage 3 hope it’s anything near yours that’s sick bro. Still driving it? And is it manual or auto
@@toolittlety Yep manual and still driving. Done of few things to it since the video... CP3, S3 intercooler, some other things. At some point I'll get a run recorded and add it for comparison.
@@MrAshrr213 I’ll stay tuned. I’m going to upload mine when it’s done too. Did you go cp3 to push more fuel or for reliability?
have you upgraded the fuel rail, pump or pressure sensor? when I upgraded the turbo, map and straight piped it I had to upgrade the fuel rail and the fuel pump because the engine wasn't getting enough diesel and would throw the CEL
Not in the video but I have since
Would love to see updates !’
@MrAshrr213 What RPM does that Xman GTB1756 spool at? Conflicted between that and the Malone Stage 4 kit. But I hate spending $3,200
I'm not sure exactly to be honest. Probably starts spooling around 1500 with max boost around 2700.
@@MrAshrr213awesome thank you for the info!
I have the same turbo on a 2012 passat tdi. I initially did colt stage 2 cams (don't recommend), dpf delete, malone stage 2. I've since upgraded the turbo, intake and exhaust but in process of tuning to stage 4 malone. How is power from a standstill? When I did stage 2 with the delete the lag at takeoff was horrible. I'm certain I have some undiagnosed issue like a bad MAP sensor or vacuum leak.
Sidenote: reason I don't recommend the cams is because they don't advertise them as experimental, they cause piston to valve contact on some 2.0l tdis depending on clearances. I used a fly cutter to make reliefs in the pistons, new valves, 77lb valve springs and put the slightly thicker head gasket. Should've just put the stock cams back in after I found them causing contact.
No actually there isn't much lag at all and I live at high altitude. Although since this video I have installed a cp3 and some other things as well.
Good to know about the cams. Was thinking of that down the line if I ever had to do head work.
That CEL was likely from high exhaust gas temperature. When you installed the CP3 did you also upgrade the fuel rail pressure sensor to 2700bar and have Malone adjust the tune? The higher rail pressure allows for shorter injector duration-> more complete fuel burn-> lower EGTs
Definitely a possibility. Actually the cp3 is getting ready to be installed now and put in a 2200 bar sensor. I do have a new tune ready to go once it's all back together.
@@MrAshrr213 that’s awesome I’d love to see a video post CP3 upgrade.. on Malone’s stage 4 product page they referenced a 2700 bar pressure sensor used in conjunction with the CP3. But anything over the stock 2K one will be much safer / deliver more fuel. I’ve also got an R70 CP3 kit from Xman just sitting in the garage.. waiting for the timing belt lol. How’s the stock clutch holding up?
@@timma100AR So far so good, at 155k miles now. We'll see how it feels with the cp3.
Where did u get ur down pipe?
From rawtek

Badass
Thanks for video
Where did you get all your mods from?
Turbo was from xman, exhaust from rawtek, intercooler and some other random things from darkside development.
What’s the hp with big turbo and stage 4 Malone? You made the video I’ve been waiting for!
More like medium turbo haha. Xman claims 230-260bhp with supporting mods. My guess is that if you have proper fueling and cooling you could be maybe 220 to the wheels with the 1756. I'd love to do a dyno run eventually.
@@MrAshrr213 how much did the turbo upgrade, delete, and stage 4 tune cost? I just recently started looking into these because I want a turbo diesel but can't afford a decent truck lol
@@whatta7793 Turbo was about $1k. Exhaust depends on how much you do but for me I got downpipe and straight pipe back to the stock muffler for I believe $700 during black friday. Tune was $650 during a black friday sale as well. I was able to sell my stock exhaust and turbo for $400 as well so that made up a little bit of the cost. Since this video I have installed an S3 intercooler and order a CP3 fuel pump as well.
@@MrAshrr213how do you like the cp3 pump? Which kit did you use? I’m sure I will be going to one eventually.
@@JohnJohnson.94 Been good so far, went with the whitbread kit!
lmfao if your name is Asher and own a sportwagen tdi I'd shit bricks, because my name is Asher and I own a sportwagen tdi!!!
Pretty close except it's a golf haha
@@MrAshrr213 nice! is it 6mt?
Yep!
its a dsg in the vid
@@DuDieselDude Nope
What clutch are you using with the stage 4 tune?
Stock clutch and now at about 135K miles. I am at a higher altitude and when I go down to sea level I have to be more careful about when I give it full throttle. As it sits now as long as you're not doing below 2500 rmps in 4-6 gear I have no problems. If you try to give too much boost too low then you do get some flywheel shudder which definitely seems to be the weak point.
@@MrAshrr213 awesome thanks! I was worried about the stock clutch but great to hear it’s holding up. Even with a Malone stage 2 tune if I get in it below 2500 rpm I get serious flywheel shudder.. sounds like business as usual. You got a great price on that kit, it’s retailing for $3,200 now 😢
How much did the stage 2 tune affect your mileage? Looking to do this on my Touareg
Increased it probably about 7-8% but that may be due to the delete as well.
On my Jetta, it increased my mileage. If you have a gas Touareg, this may be different.
Stock fuel pump and injectors?
Yes for now. Stock high pressure fuel pump is pretty much maxed out here. This turbo's definitely got a little more in it if you can provide the fuel.
Fast video like this one?
Pull 1 and 2 are either mixed up in the video or the mods are misleading. 30 degree ambient temp difference and the stage 2 tune (pull 2) odometer is less than the original tune (pull 1)
Because I had a stage 2 from the very beginning once I did the downpipe. But later I had to go do emissions testing so I did a test of stage 2, then I returned to the stock map and took a video of that. Then right after that I installed the new turbo and did the stage 4.
Who cares he just showing the difference in stages !
nice dyno run
You can see things passing in the reflection… lol
I'd rather hear the truck.
Sorry about the loud audio. UA-cam offers no way to reduce it.
Is the white Tacoma a sr5 or TRD Offroad? And does the blue truck have BFG AT KO2s?
G Overbay The white was is actually an SR, and yes they're KO2's.
Thank you. Both are great trucks. The SR does good to not have all the fancy go buttons like crawl control. Are either of you on Tacoma world? Id like to follow your builds if you are.
G Overbay Ryan, the white SR doesn't seem to be on anymore. I also haven't started my build thread. Gotta get on that.
Awesome video !!!
Great video!! Hope to see more! 🙌🏻
I wish I could find some places to play in my 2016 Tacoma haha
Good stuff guys! Love my Tacoma!!!
Next time buy some Mickey Thompson ATZ P3 tires.
MrRedskins0021 侓征强人
is that the long bed or the regular crew cab?
Short bed double cab
The silver truck is long bed double cab
should make the music louder. i dont think my neighbor could hear it.
awesome truck, try doing that in a Honda Ridgeline I don't think so
Chris Blair the ridgeline isn't meant for this so it's an unfair comparison
Very nice trucks. 👍
