Took a lesser known Malaga area downhill trail called El Moab. Trail is mostly slickrock as name suggests. Absolutely beautiful.

Thanks, I really appreciate this!
@@chickenlinedownhill8596 hienoa!
Suskribed Thanks Sami for the detailed feedback. Im thinking seriously to purchase the "Core light" version with 180mm at the front, due to the potential superior agility... But im not so sure? My size is 1,74m and i weight 76kg
I don't think you're going to have problems either way. If we are talking about Zeb you can always convert it to 190 in the next leg service with marginal cost.
Thanks so much for this review. I've been tossing up what eMTB to get but this has made me lean even more towards the Pole
Thank you very much for your comprehensive comments and detailed information about my future dream bike! More encouragement to hit the buy button. Best wishes for your health.
sound is way too low
oot vieläkin sitä mieltä että ajat mielummin voimalla kun risellä ihan trailiaki ? do you still feel like you like driving voima over rise on trail raiding also ?
Hi Heikki! I pretty much haven't touched Rise after Voima came, I seem to select Voima always also more flow trails. Maybe reason is that riding position is better in Voima for seated riding but also sweet spot of applicable use for Voima is very wide. I never used my Kenevo as a trail bike after experimenting with it. More seems to be more in this case and Voima can very well serve as only bike as well.
Hi Sami, Thank you very much for posting an in-depth review of the Pole Voima. Your review is what I needed to hear to help me make the decision to buy the Voima so I really appreciate it. I was wondering if you could help me in any way with the components you used for your build please? I had more than a brief conversation on the phone with Eero from Pole about components too but I would love some input from you if you wouldn’t mind please. I am pretty much a novice rider who started with a Trek Roscoe 7 Hardtail 2 years ago which I still own and love. I bought the Stumpy EVO Expert in January this year and absolutely love it but was looking for something with more progressive geo and had seen some of Poles other bikes and when I decided to get an ebike to add to my stable, I thought the Voima would be great! I like riding technical stuff and some trail riding too and I may get into riding gravity at some stage which is why I want the Voima. I am 170cms and weigh only 56kgs (featherweight) 🙂. I have opted for the complete AXS build because Eero told me I could upgrade whatever I wanted as long as the part was available. He also said that with my weight, the Rockshox shock would be the better option. I would like to get the Zeb Ultimate Fork, and either an X01 or XX1 cassette as well as lighter cranks and handlebars and carbon rims and better hubs too. I also would like to upgrade the brakes to Code RSC’s. I would really appreciate if you could please give me any input and/or help with my build as I would like to have a bike that is tough enough to handle the rough stuff but also lighter than most builds, given my featherweight 🙂 I really appreciate you taking the time to read this far 🙂. I look forward to hearing from you. Cheers Alan PS: I live in Sydney Australia and was also considering the NOX (Austria) Hybrid Enduro 7.1 bike and the Cybro Industries (Italy) eMTB N° 7 which both sound good too. They both have a Sachs motor 112Nm but sadly they don’t have any presence in Australia yet and I would have to send the motor back to Europe if there are any issues so I decided against it for now. Thanks Sami. I look forward to hearing from you.
Hi! I think Eero's recommendation regarding shock is correct as I run the Cane Creek fully open with 86 kg of weight. Twin tube shocks have more limitations regarding maximum oil flow simply due to less physical space. I also run an AXS drivetrain but with a twist of Shimano HG+ chain and cassette. This gives you the best possible shifting under load which happens time to time on ebike. So mix and match for best results here. As brakes I run golden TRP DH-R Evo's with thick 2.3 mm rotors. Code RSC:s I have run a lot with multiple bikes, but with those I would also recommend latest thicker 2.0 mm rotors. My wheels DT Carbon Hybrid HXC, but I would be equally happy with aluminium DT swiss set. For cockpit I run foam filled Spank Vibrocore bars cut to 770 and 40 mm of rise. Stem is 40 mm in length. I think getting cockpit high enough is critical to make Voima ride well. Cranks are e13 aluminium, nothing fancy there. Also I recommend SQLab 70X grips thicker version for cockpit comfort on long runs. Zeb is also pretty much the way to go, I think only a dual crown fork is a credible alternative. As tyres I run 2.6 Magic Mary in front and Big Betty on the back with Supergravity casing and soft compound. Saddle is a hugely individual thing so I don't even try to make any recommendation. Hope this gives you some ideas. Have a nice day 😊
@@chickenlinedownhill8596 wow!! This is absolutely awesome! Thank you so very much for taking the time and effort to give me all the details of your build. Words cannot express how appreciative I am! I will speak with Eero about getting the list of components you have recommended and hopefully Pole will be able to build it exactly like that for me. I may go with carbon cranks to save some weight. Do you reckon 160? Or 165 like you use? I have never had an ebike before so I have no idea. I know a lot of brands spec their bikes with 160 mm cranks but you mentioned you had 165’s on yours. Thanks again Sami for your time and help. I really appreciate it.
@@Alsclips2013 I use 165 cranks but don't see any problems to go shorter. My choice was based on familiarity from DH bikes and with Voima bottom bracket height I didn't see crank clearance as a constraint. There might even be benefits going shorter but I have not tested that configuration.
One more thing, with current supply chain it might be impossible for Pole to source all dream components so be careful so you don't spec a bike that can never be delivered. I had built an overstock of my favourite parts during covid since I didn't want to stop biking due to a broken part without replacement. I was then riding with cancer and on a part time pension so all I wanted to do was to max out riding time. Apart from Zeb my Voima is built from spares in that stock.
@@chickenlinedownhill8596 thanks very much for your help Sami. I may opt for the 160 mm cranks. I know that the K1 comes with a 125mm dropper. I think I may get at least a 150mm like I have on my Stumpy EVO and my Roscoe 7. I reckon the 125mm dropper may be too small even for my height (170 cms) because I have ridden one of my mates’ Norco hardtail with 130mm dropper and my legs feel very cramped. Even with a 150mm on my Stumpy EVO, I feel I could do with just that wee bit more leg room when the dropper is fully extended.
Really appreciate your review. My Voima shows up this week and I found your comments on stem spacers valuable since I'm building mine up from a frame.
Hi Sami, thank you for sharing your thoughts on the Voima. What do you think about its sizing? Is it right for you? Super steep seat tube angle, long reach and stack .... looking at the numbers I should buy a K2 for pedaling and a K1 for descending .....
Hi Andrea, yes definitely. I have been riding K2 Pole's also before and sizing seems to spot on for my 179 figure. Also downhill attributes benefit from longer sizing and I think Pole sizing table's are correct for most riders. I wouldn't recommend downsizing for downhill if you are between K2 recommended size limits. Also vice versa if you are at upper border of sizing chart don't upsize the recommendation.
Great review and was a good tip on suspension setup as I have a voima arriving in a few months. Would i apply your setup as I have a cane creek coil.
@@shaneward4065 I am not a big Cane Creek expert, but I think twin tube shocks in general are bit more limited in terms of maximum oil flow, so in theory it would make sense to start adjustment from fully open settings.
@@chickenlinedownhill8596 I'm 180 cm with long arms. Do you think a K3 based on your experience would be too big? I ride a yeti sb150 L, 480 reach, 210 one-up dropper slammed with seat all the way forward, 42mm stem. It looks like I'm on the border for K2/K3 agile vs speed.
@@symmetricon1982 you are exactly at the border. I think it's matter of personal preference in your case, if you ride lot of slow speed trails K2, if you are into big mountain riding maybe K3. If you ask from nice people from Pole I am sure they provide lot of sizing reference. You can think also in terms of stem length, do you prefer 35 mm or 50 mm as steering leverage.
Great review Sami. Which length on the crank arms did you choose? Did you consider the high BB and low cadence torque on the Bosch to suit longer arms than the ultra short +/- 150 arms?
I have 165 mm cranks. I could see myself going shorter as Bosch motor torque does not have any delay in assistance and there enough low end torque as well.
@@chickenlinedownhill8596 Thanks for the info. I am new to e-bikes so I have not had the chance to experience the characteristics of the power delivery on any of the brands or the increased pedal strikes that seems to bee common with e-bikes. Some argue that you naturally increase your cadence with shorter arms, and this gets you into the sweet spot for power delivery form the motor (brands in general) more easily. So I thought, if the Bosch is has more torque available at low cadence, that allows for some slightly longer arms (both muscle torque and motor power at lower cadence??) . I had to choose between 155 or 165mm, and for my 186cm and K3 I am leaning towards 165mm.
I think this is the correct choice for you, absolutely!
Tarviiko espanjassa insertit vai riittääkö esim. Schwalben gravity tyyppiset renkaat?
DH casing tai Super gravity, EXOt inserteillä joutuu ajamaan sukkasillaan. Huolettomampaa paksukylkisillä, eikä mene nousuja hukkaan korjaushommissa.
Hyvää ja selkeätä rallienglantia💪💪
Good job Sami! 🙂
