Two obscure but good rifles.

How do you find the 858 in comparison to the Ar 180? The 180 seems like a more accurate design, but I'm concerned about that polymer lower and the huge amounts of plastics on it. I've had opportunities to handle the 858 and shoot it and find it built like a tank. I've handled the 180 and it seems good enough, but not overly high quality for a gun costing roughly double the 858.

@bitstreamstudios well good luck eventually you will find that sweet load that runs good and is cheep i like to shoot the cheepo crate ammo in 7.62 x39 and 223 fed because i havent stared reloading yet im new to shooting but i keep my old brass for when i might

@lengthOFpole Yes, I agree... I was a bit surprised to see that much movement in the scope tube. Some of the play comes from the mount that is spring loaded to hold on the welded scope mount plate. The scope is NOT a very good one. However, surprisingly it does hold zero somewhat well. The gun itself is a bit less accurate than the scope on it I think. The AR-180B likes factory loads much more than my own lighter loads, so my work is still not finished finding a good load for it.

i don't like the way that scope moves after the shot does it lose its zero?

@iLove12GaugeSlugs I have one myself. I think it is a great little rifle but no it probably is not worth 1200. Yes it is gas-operated, yes they do not make it anymore, but it is not worth 1200. Plus the lower reciever is not Mil-Spec.

Very little... I load my own and sometimes the ejection of light loads do not clear the receiver. Otherwise, it has been great. This gun is excellent and fun to shoot! It uses standard AR mags and trigger groups too, for flexibility.

Any problems with the AR-180B? Reliable?
