What you really need to do is go to that registry key and delete all the references to Edge that you find. It will tell you that one cannot be deleted. But, when you restart and go to Settings/Apps/ , Edge will not be there.

THE DIRECTIONS WERE GOOD. BUT IT DID NOT UNINSTALL. Edge must be the current version of the IE plague.

I don't get it... I've got several youtube accounts and this account is the only one that is plagued by this horrid layout. My other accounts are not. There must be some sort of setting that allows you to change it, otherwise it would be different fore everyone (I would expect).

or you could use Improve youtube extension for chrome, some say there is any option to turn it back in youtube settings but I can't find any, also in incognito aka, logged out it turns back or doesn't use the new layout for some reason

Went through the steps while watching. Got the allow this app to make changes on your computer window clicked yes and nothing happened. THe app and the uninstall botton is still there it just won't uninstall it.

Howdy. Great. A third way would be to boot into Linux with a bootable USB stick or DVD without installing Linux, of course. Linux boots totally into RAM with full functionality and one can delete persistent files and folders through Linux. Regards.
