Outlet for sharing my shooting sports passion, primarily the PRS/NRL disciplines at the moment but I still try to shoot a F-class or High-power match a year. I am also heavily invested in firearms safety as a DNR hunter safety volunteer instructor, NRA range safety officer with additional certifications in range operations/development and a bunch of stuff before I retired from the Corps as a Gunny in 2004.

Nice job!!! Love the Savage. I ordered the Mark II special edition I emailed you about. Should be here this week weather permitting.
I'm waiting on my last component for the new build, ETA 3rd week in February😖
Looks like this could be fun when it's warmer. LOL Fun video and great shooting.
Good shoot there sir!. Looks like fun.
Hey Long Rifle. You are a Rock Star for just being out there shooting in that weather. Good video and great shooting. Thanks for sharing.
Nice Shooting!!! Thanks for braving the cold! What’s the electrical tape on the stock under the scope for?? I am very impressed by these MKIIs!
It's black duct tape, I snapped off the front action screw on this rifle so I wrapped some tape around it and it's still a shooter!
@ That is the most beautiful amazing ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard! Only a Savage!!!!!!!!!!! You get 10 bonus points on every target from here out……
Rock'n Roll Fantasy! I want this target! I am a professional lead guitarist!!! 😯🥱😎 Nice target Mike!!! Going to your website to download! Thanks for sharing brother! 👍🤘
This is the one I was telling you about Sean.
@MnShootingSports ohhh awesomeness 👌 👏 I will release some of mine also tonight or soonish, lol 😆 Thanks for sharing, brother!!! 👍
Looks like a cool one👍🏻 Rock On Bud🤘🏻🎸
Nice job and nice Target Mike
Thanks Chad, let me know if that big old Jarhead backs out on you, I might be up for a road trip!
@@MnShootingSports @kyrimfireandhobbies you guys have influenced a bunch of people to buy those Savages because of your videos.
Enjoying the 6ARC videos. I like seeing what others are trying as I have found that cartridge finicky to tune for all distances with some powders. I appreciate you taking the time to share.
Interesting, thank you.
Hi Mike, i see you had a premature magazine ejection. Love the video.
It sounds cold walking in the snow.
The snow was crunchy for sure🤣
Good fps consistancy... nice video love the ballistics and ur firearm ethics by getting ear protection.
I put it on safe but I really should have lifted the bolt handle also when I ran to the truck.
yeah, good video. im really liking the center fire content. keep it coming.
Kewl stuff Mike! Another good one man! ❤❤
Nippy out when the snow squeaks! 😅
First time I ever saw bullets pushing thru the air. Cool. Good video.
Nice grouping. I have yet to take mine out beyond 200. Just replaced the trigger, but the range was too muddy last weekend.
Too cold for me! Very smooth bolt loading the rounds! Thanks for the video👍🏽👍🏽
Nice job
Long Rifle. Good video and great shooting! You're out there in the cold shooting 300Y (great shooting again) and I went to a warm indoor range and shot from 10Y. My problem was all those other guys in there with me making way too much noise! None the less always fun. Thanks for sharing and take care.
You know I like this content as well Mike. Sounds like you don't have any intentions to tighten up those groups with a different bullet or with further load development. Are these competitions you go to, just good ol boys getting together having fun, or what? I know the guys I shoot against, strive on getting their loads below 1/2 MOA. We shoot out to 800 yards on steel silhouette targets like squirrels, crows, chucks, rabbits, yotes, and badgers. No rear sand bags either and no other rear support, other than our bodies. My rifles that I compete with will shoot 1/4 moa from the bench or in the prone with a rear bag, so without a rear rest, we need the extra edge in precision. A rabbit at 611 yards or a chuck at 400 yards in high winds, are not easy targets. Keep the videos coming buddy. I enjoy all your content!!
When I first started load development with this cartidge and was shooting suppressed I had a 108 ELD that was going about 160 fps slower that was shooting 3/8 groups or 1" at 300 yards but it fell on its ass beyond 800 yards. They are a little of both Lawrence, the one I am shooting this weekend is not a PRS Regional sanctioned match, but the guy who puts it on does host a couple at his farm each year that are Midwest Regional Qualifiers, The majority of them are official matches under some sanctioning body.
Hey if he's happy... I'm happy for him (ultimately what it's all about - right). But yeah, I would def need to bring that build in a bit... Single digit SDs and basically that ES needs to be about half that, at the worst, for better shot consistency I would think. It's a solid start though, and definitely good enough for "govt work" LOL... I haven't seen a ton of bolt gun builds with the 6ARC so that's kinda fun - I'd be interested to see how that holds up when it gets some longer legs on it. I think those higher ES numbers are gunna come to the surface once he gets in the 900-1200+ zones though??? Still a fun video - especially in that tropic environment he's shooting in... If it's not 105 in the shade with 15-30mph full value cross winds or -15 with a 40mph tail gust, its just not good shooting weather LOL
@@jeffjacobs4120 Yeah that SD wasn't great, here is a video I did last summer using the same powder but with a 103 ELDX bullet at 1267 yards. Thanks for watching! ua-cam.com/video/ysQd_DWLOfU/v-deo.html
Don't think anyone can say you aren't dedicated
As per usual with his targets, they have a strange scoring system. If you say when you hit a balloon, it goes away, you should have gotten 8 and also 10, but you counted them as misses.
Dude! Nice shooting! Hope you're nice and warm by now!
Only thing I have that could be iron sights in 2 seconds is the M&P 15-22 😢 I been watching for a good vintage rifle. 😉
After all my penalties I got a 3 so I guess I don’t feel too bad!
👍🏼🤘🏼🙏🙏🤘🏼👍🏼
Shooting in the extreme cold...you are TUFF.. Thanks.
44us(a)😉
You have so many it's hard to remember the model numbers🤣
Is that how you personally see the target Mike? That looks like 100 yards away. Thanks for trying the bigger screen thing! I can see it better, but not like I thought it would be. 👍 🙏 Hahaha!! 😂😅 I 100% agree it needs to work both ways! The 2025 is balloon also, so you got a couple of those behind it, I think also? 🤔 Anyways, nice job man!! 👏 😊 I been saying this the entire time!!! Would be hypocritical to say it wouldn't count if you popped a balloon in front of a round after it was gone!! 👍 💪
It's much clearer in person, the cross hairs are pretty thick on this one and I using the zoom on the phone magnifies this. I think it will be much better on a scope with a fine cross hair and that is FFP, unfortunately the mount came with an adaptor for a 30mm tube and all my really good scopes are 34mm. I'm going to order a 34mm adaptor ring and try it on other glass but so far I like it much more than the Tacta Cam I have had for a couple years.
@MnShootingSports yeah I agree 👍 it didn't make me nauseous watching it like some of them do. It should have come with a 34mm adapter. This is 2025 for crying out loud 😁😂
The last time I shot this, was in December. A pretty balmy 40 degrees f. I was testing a new to me rifle, that I found for $300 locally. A very nice Remington model 34 NRA Target model. I refinished the stock, since it needed it. Now it looks like a shiny new penny. A pretty cool old rifle made in 1934. Shot a 92 with cheap old Remington target ammo. That ammo was probably as old as I am, but it shot well enough in that old rifle. I agree, more people need to get out and shoot this. I may give it another go, with some CCI std. velocity, just to see how it likes that ammo.
Looks cold Mike!!! You are the man!!!
I haven’t shot any biathlon ammo. I was in NY for the Holidays and we were in below zero temps- without a doubt the Aguila Ammo is not as smooth ejecting from the chamber as Federal Auto Match and Junk Blue Box Federal. Do you notice temperature changing your zero much? If you have a 30 or 40 degree temperature swing what will your sighter look like??
Thats a great question, I don't know if it does because I am always changing ammunitions. I am going to pick a rifle and ammo to set aside and only use to test that theory out this winter/spring. Thank you!
@ I just thought of this the other day when watching someone discuss ammo and temps. I figured if anyone knew the answer it would be the guys shooting Rimfire challenges and rechecking zero frequently.
Speedy recovery for the Mrs. I don’t miss that cold at all. I balk when temps are in the 20s!!!!
Thanks for the video, that’s too cold for me.
Your a better ( or at least more dedicated ) man than I, Gunga Din! I let temps in the 30s stop me from shooting this week. I'd call that impressive shooting with iron sights under those conditions. Best wishes to your Wife for a successful outcome!
Thank you, she is itching to squeeze triggers again!
Please put a better scope on that rifle. Maybe an Athlon Argos 10-40X50 if you are doing mostly Benchrest shooting with it. Euro optics has them for about $270 with a veterans discount. I know its a budget rifle. $270 is a budget scope. Great video.
I may eventually, got another project rig in the works that is eating up my free change.
Long Rifle. Good video and great shooting. Thanks for sharing. Hope your wife's surgery goes well. I have that coming up in a few weeks myself. Take care.
Thank you, she wants to get back out to the pistol range!
😂😂😂 it's on the web, it has to be true.
You need a scope with really fine crosshairs for that kind of shooting. That’s a hunting scope.
Nice Mike! I guess i can adjust my score by 1 or 2!🤔
Absolutely 💯 🥳
🤣
Long Rifle. Good video and shooting. I think a zero is not all that bad! Thanks for sharing and take care.
I told you so!!! That ammo is a hit.
Seems like it shoots great out of everything I own
Long Rifle. Good and interesting video. Nice shooting. Thanks for sharing.
Always enjoy your videos Mike cause I go thru the same crap with misdeeds, jams and magazine issues! Looks like you have the 10/22 well sorted tho.
Friday I thought I'd be shooting in the 40's. Its Sunday and by the time I get to the range it will probably be in the 60's!😅
We shot in the snow this morning!! Warmed up to about 35 or so. I had some cold fingers filling mags for my little guy!
50 yards ?
Yes sir.
my vendor sells both the red box and blue box aquila. i was told the blue and red are the same. its just the red box is manufactured in spain where as the blue box is made in mexico... they seem the same to me, dunno..
I just checked and both mine say made in Mexico on the boxes?
