Whirlpool Washing Machine - 3 Beep F8E1 Error - Low Water Pressure - Cold Water Inlet Valve Replace
I spent an hour on this job thx to you. I appreciate it sir.
awesome! wish I was able to have done it in an hour! but definitely worth it not to have a repair person come fix it.

OP, well made video. I am making some notes for myself bc this is at least the 3rd time I have done this kit over the years and I forget the details every time. **IMPORTANT NOTE** You will be tempted to use some kind of lubricant on the rollers. DO NOT DO THIS! I tried it the last time and it got the rollers completely stuck. All I used was powdered graphite If I recall correctly. If you have the same exact dryer as me and this guy. at :37 use 1/4" socket for the 3 screws (it's used for nearly all the screws except a couple phillips). Also, I haven't ever removed the back panel. It makes access easier but reassembly harder. 3:39 that wiring harness is easier after removing the front panel with the door. There are attachments at the top that pulled right off for me. 3:47 when removing the front control panel (top panel) there are 2 plastic tabs (vertical, white plastic, push them out to the edge) you can pop on the back, one at each end. Be sure to note which hole the wire comes out through for reassembly later. 4:25 instead of unplugging the whole harness (earlier in the video), I just unclipped that wire clip to give enough slack to just set the whole front panel with door to the side carefully. 4:30 "well I broke this piece a little while trying to remove it." Me too buddy. I remember that specific moment. 4:58 I did not remove that top brace 5:00-5:08 remove the bottom 2 screws first then just loosen the top 2 screws
Great tips and insights. I hope I don't have to do this again. Good point on the lubricant though.. actually before this, the machine was doing a lot of 'Squeaking', so I think I remember putting lubricant on the belt or something.. which helped remove the Squeaking for a month or two until the belts broke.
I removed the restrictor but now the hand held wand doesn’t work. Water comes out the main shower head great now but no water out the hand held.
Not sure - I didn't run into that problem. Let me know if you figure out what it was.
What type of light you had working with @10:43?
It's a "LuminAID". I saw it on shark tank I think but my cousin actually bought one for me. It can charge via solar and collapses nicely. amzn.to/3VGK34o
Thank you so much !!! Your video saved me a lot of $$$ and I was able to fix the dryer in a couple of hours for only $26 !!!
That's awesome! Couple hours, not bad. I felt like it took me all day.
Thankyou so much for this video, Great attention to detail and step by step instructions.
Glad it helped.
Nice video. Reminded me of the steps required and how to thread the belt. Thanks!
I hope I don't have to remember to do this again!
thanks for helping me fix my dryer :)
Glad it helped!
Trying to do my duet dryer the front to start the reassembly has no screw holes am i missing something
I'm not sure? Maybe the model numbers are slightly different and configurations are different.
@ dont worry about it took some time but it went together and works nicely thank you for the help
Does the motor spin when the belt is broken? my belt broke on a Duet WED9610XWO but I cannot hear the motor turning either, you mentioned fuses? where are they and hot to test them?
it's been a while. I don't remember hearing any motor spin when the belt was broken. Also the fuse check was around 5:47 where those wires being tested with my multimeter
@@honeydotryhard thank you I checked it out and there is a switch on the pulley to kill motor if tension on belt is lost. Mine was just a belt replacement
Preferivo il trapano a percussore con una lunga prolunga fino a beccare il duro😂😂😂😂😂😂
Buenos días amigo gracias por la información 👍 me ayudaste muchísimo
Thanks!
What belt did you use for that model? Do you have the belt number?
The belt came with the kit (link in the description of the video which has a lot of different part numbers mentioned)
The starting and stopping, is that from the Greenworks head shutting down? Possibly overload protection? I’m experiencing that with using an edger attachment from my previous MTD gas edger.
It was stopping more so on my initial uses with overgrown/thick grass. There wasn't enough "power" to cut through some of the thick parts.
You're a shower-head savior! I was so frustrated with the water pressure that I almost replaced it. I couldn't remove the white clip and ended up breaking it, but thanks to a previous comment, I used a brow tweezer to pull out the black rubber ring and it worked perfectly! Thank UUUUU!
glad it worked for you!
Never would have had the confidence to do this without your video. I did it, It was the belt and now it's repaired! Many Thanks!
i remember feeling the same way!! i had to watch a lot of different videos and read a lot of different forums to get some level of confidence to do it. once you start taking it apart, there's no going back!
Very helpful. Spent $13 on a new belt and with this video fixed my dryer without a problem. Thank you!
avoid at least a couple hundred $$$ for service repair!
Did this ice maker/fridge have a filter to replace for the water going into the ice maker?
Good question - I didn't even think about water filter when replacing the ice maker. This kenmore refrigerator only had an ice maker in the freezer and did not have any water dispenser for drinking. I did not see anything visible about a water filter when I was working on changing the ice maker.
❤
Thank you so much for this video! This helped a ton and you explained and showed everything thoroughly. Although mine was a little different, we were able to figure it out. Now we have a new belt and clean dryer. Thank you!
glad to hear!
I've had this showerhead for several years now and it leaks from one head to the other. For example, if I have all the water diverted to the large head, it leaks out of the handheld, and vice versa. Is there a cartridge in it that can be changed? Also the off switch on the the handheld head barely stops any water anymore, the water pours out even when it's in the "off" position. Have you had any of these problems?
Hi when I bought this, I had a leak out of the hand held, even though I had switched this off. I contacted their support with proof of purchase and proof of the issue, and they sent me a new one at no charge/no shipping which didn't have a problem. I recommend you do the same, maybe you have a faulty product. Otherwise, not sure how to fix other than trying to replace any o-rings that help seal the water in.
@@honeydotryhard Thanks so much for this suggestion, I'm glad it was an easy fix for you, I will go digging in my files for my proof of purchase haha!
How long did this take? A 10 minute job will take me 3 hours, so if it took 3 hours for you it will take me 9 lol
This took me all afternoon, but I was also recording.
I’ve replaced the inlet valve and now I can see there’s forsure more water filling but I’m still getting the f8e1 more often than not. Maybe there’s a level sensor that’s bad ?
I'm definitely no expert here. But assuming that code means low water, low water flow, I think it could be any of the following: the filters are clogged and need cleaning, maybe there's a 'krimp' in one of the hoses, you may have 2 inlet valves - one for hot and one for cold - maybe the other one is faulty, maybe there's some other clog going on (i.e. my one basket was really nasty), maybe there's a way to reset the sensor, or maybe like you mention, the sensor is bad. There may be some type of troubleshooting guide the pro's use. Good luck - let me know what you find out.
Thank you so very much. I tore the whole thing apart and put it back together BY MYSELF thanks to your video!😁😁😁
Great job! Taking apart is always the easy part. Putting it back together the same way you took it apart is always the nerve wracking for me! Especially with all those pieces.
Awesome video; Wish I found it earlier while troubleshooting my F8E1 error. Listening to the valves during a cold fill vs a hot fill was the clue I needed to isolate a valve issue. Thank you.
Yea I didn't really know until I was playing around with the different settings wondering why some of the wash cycles work and some didn't, and by watching other videos came to the conclusion that those cycles rely on either hot, cold, or both hot/cold water coming in.
Thank yoy
I was looking in the wrong place for the water restricter, your video set me straight. More water pressure now. Thanks!.
I have a whirlpool washing machine front loader that’s on the blink - but too intimidated to give it a try. What forum did you go to or UA-cam channel for help? Thx for any advice- I’m a new sub - also loved your Ryobi gas edger hack with 80v Greenworks universal trimmer- I just bought the Greenworks too. So I’m excited that I saw your video. You’re awesome 👏
Thanks! I found this channel helpful: ua-cam.com/channels/nMCOX6qSbTUQPyJJzRwPcg.html and this website helpful: www.applianceblog.com/
You’re brilliant 🎉🎉🎉
Thanks to you, I was able to replace the broken belt on my WP Duet dryer with relative ease.
Nice work!
I wonder if it works with 60v?
Not sure, I went with the 80v line of tools which they advertise as having the "power of gas". Let me know if you find out for your 60v.
It'll technically work with 60V trimmers that are attachment capable, but they might not have the power to make it work that well.
Thank you!!! The water pressure is so much better. Also, that white clip is super stubborn, needle nose pliers are must when removing.
Great tip!
So replace all this. What else could this be ?
Wait… who is bringing a whole power drill to the beach? 😂😂😂 This is so unhinged, I love it!
Actually we used this at the bay beach where it is harder to put the umbrella in the sand because of the water/tide making the sand harder. Fortunately the parking lot is 10 steps away so bringing the drill is not a big deal!
@@honeydotryhardsmart
I know! 😂
Ever figure out how to on the actual drill setting? Mine is all the way counter clockwise, just fyi.
Cómo pueden ayudarme con este tipo de lavadora lava normal pero al momento de centrifugar el agua se queda quieta y no funciona no bota el agua
I have the same identical dryer I have to do the same thing I have to replace the belt
good luck!

I used this auger drill bit: amzn.to/3Aw7Bie (may need to expand the description for the link).
Exceptional. Could not find anything that matched my model, but your attention to detail helped me find a way to replace the belt, without removing the Back panel. Great Job.
Glad you were able to do it without removing the back panel! I noticed the same thing, every model is a little different but hoping any details of the video can help someone else.
Nicely done video! I’m doing the same with my Duet. Found an inspection sticker on it reading 12/05/2006. I bought it new and this is the first repair, so I’m very impressed at this quality. Now I must say, of all the Duet repair videos, I found this to be the most helpful to me. I’ve never tried something like this, but your video gave me the confidence to at least make the attempt. Now, if you could do a video restoring the disc brakes on a vintage Thunderbird, I’ll be set! BtW, I’m now a sub.
Very informative and helpful. Thank you!
What is address this beach ⛱️🏖️
Thank you for recording this video. Helped me on my dryer. Busted pulley wheel. Saved me some $! 👍
Glad to hear it helped! Same here - wanted to save some $!
Thanks for this. I wasn’t able to get the white clip out but I did manage to get a very small hooked pick around the black washer and pulled it straight out. Didn’t rip the washer and the white clips stayed intact. Water pressure is much better now
Glad you were able to get more pressure. If I remember, it took me some effort to pull that white clip out with some pliers.
Exactly what I needed, many thanks!
Glad it helped!
I was about to return this product! Thank you! Very informative 👏
Glad it helped!
Thank you for this video. I was able to fix my dryer by myself! Great tip about the system to keep track of all the screws.
Glad it helped! Yea learned the hard way when you don't keep track of things - you forget what screws go where, especially when there's a lot of them.
You dont have to take back cover off...can be done throughout front side only
How do you do that buddy ?
Please explain how you were able to complete this task without removing the back cover.
Hopefully I don't have to do this again! I think I tried doing this through the front only, but it's hard when you can't see the pulley/wheel and not sure what you are exactly doing!
Has anyone tried to remove the blue water saver for even better pressure?
I have not, but if you do, let me know how it went.
I did it by removing the shower ball and soaking the blue water saver with WD-40 for a few minutes, then pushing it out from the rear.
@Fred Pellechia did it help significantly?
@@Southernboy302 Yes, a little too much in the rain shower only position, but very good otherwise.
@Fred Pellechia Thanks. I'm definitely gonna try that.
