So true! I was raised in a controlling environment, it's all I knew, and it's how I thought kids should be raised. So I raised my oldest in that controlling way and he is great but had struggles with decision making for a long time. When we teach kids how to make good decisions and then let them do it at home, we are there to help them through it. The relationship is more important than anything, our kids need to feel safe with us. Love this!

So agree, I am so thankful that our kids especially our oldest comes to us when things are bothering him or even when things don't feel right. Sometimes it takes a bit of patience as it may take him to come out to talk with us but he does. Our youth are struggling and need to know parents are there to help them. When they feel like parent can't help they need trusted spirit lead adult that are able to be open and honest. We had a friend daughter run away a few months ago she was alone for over 48 hours feeling depressed. I know her families is their for her and are good Christ field people, but society and life pressures overwhelmed her and it spiraled. It can happen to anyone especially our teen who are confused and still learning. But definitely a eye opener to our own family about reinstalling those bound of trust and communication. We need to be there to be a open ear without punishment or judgement giving them guidance but like you son has said letting them learn form their own choice.

Please pray for me to have spiritual discernment and know the Lord’s voice as well as you. I get a lot of spiritual interference from the enemy. And also please pray for my agnostic husbands conversion. We really need his spiritual authority in our family

In March we received our service mission call. The day after being set apart the transmission went out in our van. After lots of searching and praying we decided to buy a good used van. The Lord totally made it possible. So now we had a way to do our service mission. On the 26th of June we went to the temple and after we were done my husband was prompted to do more. He just ignored it. I was prompted to go in the family history center and there was a sister I needed to share some direction with. Which I did. But then she wanted me to share it with some other sisters which I felt I should not. But I ignored it and shared with them anyways. We had a couple other stops on the way home which felt fine. Well about 60 miles from home at 8 pm a very large farm dog ran out in front of our car. It took our car out of commission. We had planned on going to help at the Nauvoo pageant from the first week in July till the 3rd of Aug. Our car was in the shop from the 26th of June till the 1st of Aug. We also wanted to take new members with us to experience Nauvoo. To rent a car the size we needed was 4x’s what the insurance covered. Thanks to our daughter being able to drive a second car and our sweet daughter in law watching our daughters children we were able to take one day and take 3 new members and a couple more of their family. If we would have just listened. When you said about getting the prompting to stay and do more and you didn’t it made me cry. We are in a spiritual battle, against powers and principality’s. We truly need to learn how to hear and then obey immediately.

God is in the details, and those tender mercies help to increase our faith as you know.

This was long but I listened to all of it. We were lead here, south central Missouri, in 2010. We bought the land in 2008. When we got here there were 40 active Saints here. We move here with the three youngest biological children of 8 children. We knew we would foster/adopt someday and had kept trying to do this and were stopped by the Lord. Four years later we fostered. In 9 months we got 5 children. We told them NO babies. The first we got was a two day old. I told them,”This is emergency only, find another family”. Within 12 hours, we knew this child was ours. He is almost ten years old. We also adopted a sibling group who were 5, 7 and 8. We got a 16 year old. His story was different. He is still ours and appears in our formal photos. This branch that began in 2008 with 40 people have about 250 active Saints attend church every Sunday. More people keep pouring in from around the country, particularly Idaho and Utah. It’s amazing!

I love you Kat! My Florida days with Andrew and then trying to keep Brandon together after his mother visitation memories came flooding back! We have had tough times since then, but, that was my first time shouting “there is no God “. One night at the top of my lungs! I repented pretty quickly and fought the adversary with more power each time another major trial would come my way! Your testimony is greatly appreciated today! Thank you! I pray God follow you and strengthen you in all your trials coming, for they will, but, the glory of God will bring an easing of the mind as faith grows with each experience! Darkness can’t abide a heart at peace, so, will flee with one name being spoken in power and faith, and that is Jesus Christ❤, the only begotten of the father! Take care, Katherine!

I so love hearing this! God blesses us as we share each other struggles. I know you and Ryan both but not spiritually intimate level.
