How much more clear can it get? There is no commandment that says “Thou shalt not own another human being as property”. Owning a slave is not a sin. Exodus 21 tells you where to buy slaves, how long you can keep them for, how you can treat them, etc. Anybody who tries to twist the meaning of this knows it is immoral to own slaves and wants to falsely defend the Bible. For example, there is absolutely no mention of the words “indentured servitude” in the Bible, but apologist will swear that is what it means. In any case, that is STILL owning another human being as property. It doesn’t matter if they were treated nice or were let go after some years…slavery is slavery no matter how much you try to sugarcoat it. The laws governing non-Hebrew slaves were more harsh than those governing Hebrew slaves: non-Hebrew slaves could be owned permanently, and bequeathed to the owner's children, whereas Hebrew slaves were treated as servants, and were released after six years of service or the occurrence of a jubilee year

Matthew 25:31-46 “But when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit upon his glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered in his presence, and he will separate the people as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will place the sheep at his right hand and the goats at his left. “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world. For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’ “Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’ “Then the King will turn to those on the left and say, ‘Away with you, you cursed ones, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his demons. For I was hungry, and you didn’t feed me. I was thirsty, and you didn’t give me a drink. I was a stranger, and you didn’t invite me into your home. I was naked, and you didn’t give me clothing. I was sick and in prison, and you didn’t visit me.’ “Then they will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and not help you?’ “And he will answer, ‘I tell you the truth, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me.’ “And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous will go into eternal life.”

Since faith in Christ is supposed to produce a transformed heart and life, it would be problematic for someone to remain in that lifestyle. Just like it is problematic for someone to persist in any sinful lifestyle. The old adage "your actions speak louder than your words" comes to mind. While anyone can put their faith in Christ and receive eternal life, the sanctification of their life should reveal a departure from sin in their life. Like all of us there will never be sinless perfection until we are with Christ, but there should be a consistent growth toward being more Christlike.

@@RidgePointeFellow Are you sure _"with a plain interpretation of scripture, you don't end up with hatred of gays?"_ In Romans 1, Paul said the gospel contains God's power to save, but LGBT people are excluded. God gave them up, referring to them as _"impure"_ and having _"debased minds."_ The ESV says _"...God's rightous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die."_ That sounds like hate to me. @@dansaber8435 The passage you are quoting from, Romans 1:28-32, contains quite a list of sins of which we are all guilty. The chapter is showing how as we turned from God our desires became more and more corrupt. Basically, God said if we don't want His influence in our lives, then we could have the consequences of that choice. The summation in verse 32 about deserving death is about the general condemnation of man caused by sin. Paul then goes on in the next several chapters to show how God, even though man had turned their backs on Him, still showed His love for us in the atoning work of Christ on the cross. We can all turn to Christ from whatever sin path we are following and receive His free gift of eternal life instead of the death we deserve.

Really know how important this is! Seeing so many people coming to church and getting a change in their lives and all we are doing is just loving our friends and neighbors. It means so much to see men become more involved, families stay together and thrive, kids lives changed to commit to something bigger than themselves. Prayer has been such a powerful thing. If a loser like me can do it, you guys can!

The fact that men do not follow God and his plan is why women are against the word submit. This also reflects in the church and it's relationship with Christ(submission is key). If we actually "believed what we say we believed"(Dan Titchywy circa 2007) and took action on it, our wives would see clearly that following us is the best course of action. Leaders must be disciples first.
