I have never seen this before, thank you. Sure wish Dottie had recorded a full Christmas album but they weren't letting too many do them back in the 1980's unless they were people who always sold a million like Kenny & Dolly, George Strait, Reba. I just posted a couple rarities myself on youtube, perhaps her earliest known filmed performance from 1961 and one of her very last Opry appearances in 1981. Love her, such a gracious and giving woman.

I remember a very intriguing duet by Dottie West with John Schneider. The song is called "Lover To Lover". Instead, the song entitled "Holly Ridge Road" is a typically Christmas song and therefore decidedly sweet.😊🧡💛💚

This is not the only live performance Dottie did of this song on this show "The Tommy Hunter" Show from Canada. She performed it on several TV shows plus in live performances, also two Broadcast radio live shows of Dottie I have in my personal collection and she sings this song on both, most interestingly she sings a great live version of this during her concert in New York which was captured on live Broadcast radio. You cannot state this is the "One & Only" live performance, I have tons of hours of Dottie never seen before from archives that allow me to receive the videos for research purposes.

From her final album, I think this could have been a bigger hit than it was (the whole album is wonderful). Love her outfit here (a personal favorite of hers; it was designed by Bob Mackie. She would wear it with either the skirt seen here or the green Spandex pants that he also made for her to go with it).

Thanks for posting this! I think the TV version of this song and "Clinging To My Baby's Hand" were better than the studio versions, probably because she got to know the songs a little more before the TV tapings. I like the couple added notes from the studio version you added at the start of this song to replace the voice-over. This should have been a hit for Dottie and as you mentioned, it was a single-only release, the 45 rpm pressings were not very good either - my copy and others I've heard have a lot of pops and crackle throughout and it really rattles during the peaks toward the end.
