Whatever works for you is best, but keep in mind in that in Destiny, crouch slide is so often used that I made it my mouse button so that it won't interrupt the flow if I have to go right after crouching.

I haven't tried this but have your tried modifying the text file of the key bindings and enter the same button for both to see what happens? My only concern is that class ability would override crouching animation. Honestly why would you want to do this? In this game crouching is heavily used to slide around corners and appear less on the radar. If you bind it to the same button you'll often use your class ability when you don't want to.

@@JediGillGaming I've been using xim for last few years on PS4, and on my mouse I had 1 click for crouch 2 for class ability. Works so good and really struggling due to muscle memory. Changed to pc few days ago and just can't find a comfortable key/mouse button for class ability

There is no governing body of rules and regulations do as you like and have fun with the game.. use any and all advantages you can utilize to play the game.

@@JediGillGaming alright just wasn't sure if this would count as the same as using a macro and how games usually have a rule against macros but idk nothing seems to be clear cut and simply put about all the ways to customize but anyway I'll try it and see. Thx for the helpful vid

There is a special key binding for those abilities, I don't recall the exact name.. but I think it's something like class ability. I personally binding mine to mouse wheel down. Hope this helps.

TheRealGrandgt Look at the video in the CVARS file see where the super is configured and simply write in mouse wheel up. That's not the exact syntax, feel free to download my file and edit it or use it as an example. I'm sure you can figure it out.

Jeff Smith Yes I know what this is, if you look at the CVARS file you'll find that scroll down is registered to another command. You'll have to set this to none!. If you wish download the file I posted in the Dropbox link of the comments and use that as a either a reference or edit that one to your preference.

Just do what I did. and bind upscroll on the mouse wheel to class ability. down to melee. The only way I see what you are asking possible is to have a programmable mouse where double click can be programmed to be another button.. and this button assign it to class ability in your case. it's possible just need the right hardware and software..

Wouldn't using stuff like Autohotkey or other macro programming softwares etc do the same as what he is asking? We would just need to assign a double melee to the button press of the ability class. Ths would suck however when you are in a melee battle and wish to double melee, you would end up dropping your shield down and wasting time NOT meleeing when necessary.

BMWs100ORR You are correct, I did this because some games wouldn't register my mouse buttons so I programmed them to buttons, this way I'll always be able to play with them in game. I do mention this in Part 1 which is why I don't repeat it here.

BMWs100ORR look at the video and freeze it, I highlighted exactly how you should type it.

You'll have to follow the steps I illustrated, ingame key bindings are not very flexible.

LintyFresh I think when you plug in a controller to the pc version, it locks you into the console mode, which means aim assist is turned on and a slightly different recoil pattern. But in terms of modifying the buttons on the controller, I don't see why this won't be tweak able. I don't know for sure as I didn't play with a controller but I'll check when it releases and report back. Good suggestion.

You can do that if you get a programmable keyboard. Interesting suggestion. Although If your thinking to switch to a heavy weapon.. I assure you pressing 3 will be much faster and efficient.

Sweet! I’ll look into that. I was also looking into maybe getting one of those mice with 11-12 buttons on the side and binding everything right there except for movement, but I feel like that’d get a little too cluttered.

I'm a little late to the party, but I did find that if you bind your swap weapon key.. by default if you hold it.. It will infact go to the heavy weapon key.. similar to how it is on console.. No need for a programmable keyboard.. works out of the box.

Primarily because when I made this video I wasn't expecting to upload it.. I was merely going through my items trying to decide if I had the best loadout for the match.. (Was trying to look at perks and max out both Int and Disc while trying to figure out if I could get some Strenghth) but if you have a question about weapons I'd love to answer it.
