More often than ever we are reminded of the importance of living sustainably. It seems everywhere we turn it's in front of us: recycle, waste less, protect the environment, energy prices, etc. Most of us haven't much experience anything other than life with modern conveniences. Living an eco-friendly lifestyle doesn't mean giving up modernity; it is an opportunity to get the most out of your time and resources. It means stepping beyond modern and into a creative future.
Our workshops and courses include permaculture design, natural farming, small garden design, solar cooking, food preservation, energy conservation, and many other topics related to sustainable living. Workshops are tailored to meet the interests of participants.

Don't Thin Fruit On Your Pear Trees
Переглядів 952 місяці тому
Thinning to get bigger fruit is the advice we hear most often when it comes to a plentiful harvest. I have learned otherwise. The size of the fruit depends on many things: age of tree, how much water, how much sunlight, how good is the soil, etc. In my garden thinning only gives me less fruit. Elderberry Tree Is A Useful Habitat

Some allow their elderberry trees to bush outwards rather than prune for height. The reason is because if it gets tall it begins to lean to the side and eventually fall over. I recognize the bowl, food looks good.
Solar cooked food is good.
Labeling: use a glue stick, it's as good as the standard labeling tools. Color: is a rose' stout.
Rose stout, I like that.

I think the information on thinning is often wrong also. Or at least needs corrections. I've been gardening for a few years and keep running into people saying to thin fruit trees and waste fruit. But it seems like many trees thin themselves.
I have discovered trees thin themselves also, and not always all at once.
@@shoshanasplace Thank you for the reply.
Thank you ❤

Lovely video❤
An example of farming👍👍👍
It's one if the many chores necessary in the springtime.
The mulch is made up of different types of weeds, bark, rabbit droppings and urine. It feeds the soil as it breaks down.
After posting this video I was walking through the allotments with a friend. We learned from someone visiting that plot number 40 won the most romantic corner contest. It just so happens plot 40 is featured here. I didn't see the romantic corner but if they won the prize then the plot has a hidden gem. I wonder how many gems are hidden in these gardens.
What a place of beauty. Though what a shame they close so early. Many people like myself like to garden in the early evening after work.
My thoughts exactly! There are still many hours of light after 4 pm. In the Netherlands there are seven hours of sunlight after closing time in this season.
Very interesting. The hedges have the same hight as they're supposed to be in German allotments 😉
The height is perfect. One can view the garden (a way of sharing) yet there is privacy from immediate neighbors.
The trees make a difference 👍 That's what I'm trying to chieve in my garden as well.
Definitely! It's worth the wait for them to grow tall enough to do their job well.
Such a nice welcome in flora and fauna❤
Yes, it is better to return to a thriving jungle. I have my work cut out for me and plenty of food for the guinea pigs and rabbits.
It looks like they bloomed together so there is a chance of a good apple harvest.
Absolutely AMAZING❤❤❤
Wow beautiful sharing my friend Iam1st like and comment ... Thank for sharing good job
I was thinking like.. oh, pears there are totally different from Korea. 😂14:34
How embarrassing...😅.
The love you have with nature.... It is as if I'm walking in your garden❤
Very well explained 🍋🌱👍How long does it take until roots will show up? I've tried to do it with a banana peel and a rose. It worked but then I left the young rose 🌹 in a tiny pot outside in the frost and that wasn't good. I'm going to try this. Your channel was recommended to me by UA-cam and you have a new subscriber. Greetings Heidi 👩🌾💕
Thank you! Wonderful lesson 😀
how long will it take to root? how long do you leave it wrapped up?
The time frame varies, usually after five to six weeks I check them. If I see roots beginning to for then I know it will be a couple weeks more so from six to eight weeks. Sometimes I find roots develped enough to transfer with the first check, other times the roots are too small and have to grow more. Once, I was too late; roots developed but there wasn't enough soil to sustain them.
Love your lemons. My buds blow of from strong winds on the wadi side.
I had 5hat problem when my trees were young. For quite a few years I thought I'd never get fruit and even worried about my trees' survival. I didn't prune to insure they had enough mass to survive. Once they reached enough density the leaves and flowers stayed on. This is true for all my citrus trees. I still have that problem with my younger, smaller trees. The winds blow up the mountain straight from the sea. Other fruit trees lose flowers, too. I'm so happy when I get fruit..

I like how they maintained their color. They are crispy dry but rehydrate well with flavor.

What a little cuties❤❤
Today, my young students were able to touch and interact with them. Absolutely adorable!
They're so cute :)
They really are! Today they started hopping around the pen. Adorable!
Omg what a supercutie.....
Total cutie! I was surprised he got so far from the nest. I hope he stays with the others, though. He'll be warmer and get his meals.
It appears they are all taking care of the kits. I don't want to pick up the rabbits to check who is nursing. It's best to just let them be since they are caring for the babies.
Looks like you’re picking lemons not oranges. That’ll about not ripe.
They are definitely oranges. Yes, they still have some green on them; they are tastier when picked not fully orange. They quickly turn fully orange after picking and last longer than oranges that ripen fully on the tree.
It's great to pick fruit that you grow yourself
Yes! It's a very satisfying feeling.
Such interesting and nice work!❤
It is kind of fun to do these things myself.
This is my favorite stable in the whole world.
