I was was brought to the match by my Dad. Huge Spurs fans in our household. It was amazing to see the Mighty Spurs come my home town. A day I’ll never forget. The Spurs players were like Gods, they were tanned and athletic and of course they wore the famous white strip. What a side we were then. COYS

Credit to the locals who went to support their local side rather than side with the foreigners.

Yes their was a lot of Spurs fans came down from Northern Ireland( on the Tuesday Night) so they were a few fights just between the Irish supporting spurs and Drogheda fans(C v P) none of us for England were involved. My friend and I came down from Sunderland(tyne/Wear) and were there early Monday afternoon and we were interview by the locals, but once they got to no us they were great and made us welcome even invited us to have a look round their ground and we were staying in farm 1.5 mile from drogheda in a static home. the people who ownered the farm were good to us and made us tea and sandwichers for free and on day of the match the farmer gave us a lift back to Droheda, before the match we took our bags to the station luggage department and told them we would not have much time to get our train and after the match we hurry to the station and the baggage handler was waiting on the station with our bags and also the farmer sent us the match report from the local paper. Also had a great time in dublin to great people.

The small audience obviously don't realise the significance of the hymn. I can't listen to it without being moved, but you won't be moved by something unless you know what it is about! Our own social history has been quietly moved from view to where, the only people who can actually remember, remember!

@bobmarly335 Thanks for your comment regarding my video. Yes it was a good goal by Kranjcar, but Sunderland goal was quite good as well.If sunderland had getting a another goal straight away then we would have lost. I live in the northeast and had a good drink in the town with my nothern Spurs Fans and my friends from Sunderland

@MistaFozz I would just like to thankyou for watching my video and for your comments regarding the video. Every year I take lots of photos or murton band, miners gala and the people of murton, but this year I decided to do a video of them dancing at the top of the terrace. The people of murton turn out in large numbers evey year to attend the gala, but their is never any mention of it in the Sunderland echo or on the north east news

Carlsberg don't do drunken dancers, but if they did.....lol Most people have 2 left feet for the following 364 days till next the Miners Gala Comes round, It always brings out the best in Murtoners, I was talking to a bloke in 2004 about the Big Meeting, and he was telling me how big it was in the 50's, Pretty Much 500,000 every year, and he was saying if more places like Murton cared, it would be massive, he said although most of Murton is pissed, they know how to celebrate it
