I know its a older video but thanks for the content. Could you do a new tool load out video? Maybe some beginner videos for cameras and all
Sure thing thanks for watching.
I do very similar work and I’m debating on the 3 or 4. I see you have both, Which one would you prefer?
Honestly, I would go with 3 because it's smaller and will not give you back pain in the future. Sometimes, you don't need all the tools to be carried around, only a few.
Great info thank you 🙏
hi, my name is johnny lam. i have been trying to reach HID and mercury, but no success. could you tell me where to sign up as dealer to get pricing for the mercury access control
Anixter Wesco
Need a scooter for those jobs.
OSHA might not like that idea. I do like the idea though. 😆 🤣 😂
Omg!!!
Also available for a 4 square box, with rollers.
I don't like it. Too expensive. Too big. Weird picture. Ptz is a waste unless inside for anti theft. Otherwise, more cameras. No ptz.
This is a 180-degree camera and not a PTZ.
I like the flex to the door frame. Doesn't the nipple pinch the wire when they put in the frame?
Not for these particular frames because they are hollow. Usually, all this is planned in advance and see what kind of door designs we are working with.
🤙🏼🔥🔥
Im considering getting this bag, do you still use it any complaints?
Yes, it's totally worth it. I did move on to a smaller bad, which is TP3B it a little lighter. Check it. Did a review on it.
Wiring was the only thing I was hoping to see....
Thank you boss
A and B was used for crossover cables that are no longer necessary. Now it is a means of security.
Now do metal/concrete back fill and aluminum.
Binary 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024...... So 5 dip switches means 31 possible addresses. The other 3 are system settings.
32 Possible addresses. O is considered an address also.
That's different. They usually leave that blank.
The only question I have is thus: Do you wire your emergency exit button as a rex or does it physically break power (as per nfpa72 egress code)? [Applies to magnetic installs or fail secure] Nice mercury access setup. Very clean! Also, why rex with mechanical egress??
REX shunts the D.C. when existing .
So, a failure secure door or Maglock by code in most of the installation that I have done and gotten approved by a Fire Marshall require 2 means of egress, which in my case I have used an exit button and motion detector. These devices typically have 2 outputs. 1st outputpole for the rex for the software to shunt the DPS (Door Position Switch or DC) 2nd output/pole is used for the hardwire circuit to drop the lock when walking out, either the button or motion will release the lock. Hopefully this helps.
It just clicked when I was going over the manual for the MR52s, you're just putting the address in as the binary number. 0=0, 1=1, 10=2, 11=3, 100=4, 101=5, 110=6, etc. Dip switch 1 is read on the far right side, dip switch 5 is on the far left.
thanks for posting. I'm thinking about using this instead of the fisheye xnf-9010rv. The camera is being used for a parking lot and mounted high up on the wall similar to your install.
What type of certification you need to learn this, access control?
You don't need any Certs to become a helper. Once you are in the industry, the company you work for will get you a Security Access Controls License to be able to view drawings with high security details. As you make your way through this industry, you can get certifications on different types of systems. Hope this helps.
Thanks, 10yr in the field now currently a lead low voltage tech. We run the cable but out source the installation and I’m trying to see where to start. I’ve heard of open path, but couldn’t get information to learn from them. Any systems that I could get training online?
Assa Abloy Academy has a lot of webinars.
Just grabbed the dp3, i just love having the drill on me at all times
Is this too big to wear on your hip? Nice video
No, that's why I upgraded to it.
@@lowvoltageghost888 nice mine is coming tomorrow.. I need something a little bigger than what I have but still able to wear comfortably on my tool belt.
Awesome. Well, good luck at work, buddy. The Klein Tools Belt is one of my favorite ones, by the way.
@@lowvoltageghost888 thanks! Keep making the great content.
How did you set up your hand tools that way?
Washers and toggle bolts.
The beats sticker is a nice touch
What transformer did you use for powering it?
I am using a controlled relay that provides 24VDC. No transformer.
@@lowvoltageghost888 Do you have a part number of the one you use? Or a video on the wiring set up?
I usually use big enclosures for projects over 8 doors. But you can find what you need in Altronix.com or LifeSafetyPower.com. even Amazon. What are you trying to do. Just 1 door? They sell 1 door kits in Amazon with the lock hardware and everything included.
@@lowvoltageghost888 Yes, I’m trying to just do 1 door with key pad and electric strike. I think I have everything just wanted to kind of get an idea of what it looks like all wired up or how you wired it up
Using the vacuum adaptor for not scratching the bag => great idea!
just got one ,so nice. makes work easy
Nice and Cheap. I'm glad it helped you.
Nice video thank you
that is tp3
It's actually the TP3B lol
Great job
Anyone- What terminal on the FP250 are the borders connected to. And are they daisy chained. I know the terminals for the borders are TB1(master) and TB7 (MR52-slaves)
Yes, you can daisy chain them. Depending how much power you need. FPO150/250: Land positve wire on DC1 and negative wire to BR. Just make sure to set your board to 12VDC and not to PASS, so you don't burn you readers. Most readers take 12VDC. Hopefully, this was helpful.
Can you show/explain the drain. Ive been doing low voltage, but don't understand where to ground it- does it connect somewherein the panel. Thank again
@SJ-nl6xl Drain wires are used in cables in conjunction with a metallic shield to ensure effective grounding. The drain wire serves to complete an electrical circuit from the shield and carry unwanted electrical noise to ground away from the circuit. In other words, is so if the wire picks up static, the data traveling through the wire doesn't get interrupted or start acting up when you badge because of high voltage by the area you ran your wire or any other static sources in the pathway.
Do Lenel S2 boards have the same setup. Power supplies, RS485 readers...ect?
S2 is a bit different because they usually ate blades in the enclosure us at the end of the day, Access Controls is always the same.
Except lenel programming is dyslexic. 😂
Keep at this, brother. Definitely great presentation. How would you troubleshoot a reader on these broads would be a great video, just some video ideas. Good luck
Great suggestion! Thank you for the support.
Dude, seriously great video. Well explained and I appreciate the detail and breakdowns! Keep it up! More people are probably benefiting from these videos than you’d imagine.
Much appreciated!
That’s the 3 no?

Literally just installed one today if I scratched the door like that I’d be fired you shouldn’t be teaching others your fly by night ways I’ll text ya how it should look if ya want 😉
No text is necessary. How about a video showing us how it's properly done.
I sure hope that strike covers those scratches doesn’t take much time to duct tape some cardboard on the door
Apparently, you did listen to what I said. It's an existing scratched up door in a building that was going to get remodeled and painted. The customer was okay with it as long as it served its purpose. We would love to see a video of you installing the strike.
8:02 TAKE YOUR TIME! YOU COULD NEVER TAKE OUR TIME! Guys like ME appreciate the time you take to educate us on this topic because, believe it or not… ITS HARD TO FIND SOMEONE WILLING TO GIVE OUT THIS INFORMATION FOR “FREE” so thank you For YOUR Time lol 😂🙏🏾
I really appreciate you comment brother, I'm 100% here to assist and share as much as I can. Cheers
It's Ridiculous being offended by "master and slave" term
I made sure to look it up in the Electronic Terminology book to back myself up.
@@lowvoltageghost888 also as an IT guy, it's been a while since I heard that term, last time I heard about it is the time of IDE drives where you could set which one is Master drive and slave drive, but still, normal people being offended by "master and slave" term is still ridiculous, but aside from that your setup is really beautifuly done.
So what if you had 2 control panels of a large complex? Do you just connect them via ethernet?
You have 2 options, depending on the infrastructure. If the Control Panels (Head-End Enclosures) are in different rooms (MDFs/IDFs), you can connect them via ethernet. But if you have them centralized in one control panel enclosure, you can connect up to 32 boards together through RS485 communication on these particular Mercury Boards, which pretty much is 64 doors with access controls. There are a lot of factors that need to be considered as well, like the distance of the access controls door to the head-end controler, with 18 gauge wire you can go up to 500ft max. Different systems are different. Hopefully that answered the question.
@@lowvoltageghost888 Cheers I figured it may of been rs485 also. I do industrial automation and it's a mix of both with a fibre backhaul for the IDFs.
Yes, I have done projects where customers wanted to save money on not having purchasing Master Boards and wanting RS485 run between (MDFs/IDFs) or from building to building with RS485 because some of those building had no network and they just wanted to monitor the entry and exit of employees with access controls, so RS485 was run to them. RS485 can travel up to like 4000 ft. Depending on the gauce of wire.
Why does the master board look so dark on that top left corner
Some boards come like that, fried and crispy. Jk. But, to be honest, idk, I have installed some boards that are lighter red and darker red. But as long as they work, I'm happy. It's funny because that one is a fresh board, brand new.
@@lowvoltageghost888 looks like they might have overheated the board putting the components in
Maybe, not sure, that would be a manufacturing question. But yes, I have noticed the coloring a little brighter and faded on some of them.i
Even if the PCBs were manufactured in the same location, there is no guarantee that the color would be the same between two batches. We can also observe color change due to thermal or thermomechanical aging of PCBAs. So having a darker color for the older PCB could be due to an aging effect as well.
Thank you for the support @ManofCulture very informative.
Keep it up with this videos what a great job are you doing🎉🎉🎉
Thank you Nick.
Awesome keep up the content
Thank you sir.
Bu paneller ile calişmak çok güzel bende kullanıyorum
Evet, gerçekten harikalar, teşekkür ederim.
These are great bags. I buy high quality gear so I don't have to fight with poorly designed and built stuff. I'm still using my 25 y/o Occidental Leather elec. bag, belt and parts pouch. Also, a TP3 and/or this one when I'm working on someone's old house and don't want/need a belt packed with stuff. The clip on is great to avoid scrastching or breaking expensive furniture, etc. I know guys that won't spend the money on quality kit, but they'll go to the pub every night and pay $4 for a bottle of Lite beer (x 6) plus tips. Heh.
Thanks for the video
Thank you for the support, I hope you take something from this and pass it along.
🐐
Thank you sir
Appreciate the videos would love some more like this for access control/ burglar. Thank you 👍🏼
Coming up soon buddy, thank yoi for the support.
It come with a shoulder strap?
No sir.
