Working on a cover of "Liquid - Sweet Harmony" on the Z180 computer and M5Stack MIDI synth
Coding a new track on my home made Z180 setup with the M5Stack MIDI synth module and my own music data coding format in Oshonsoft Z80 Assembler.
Drums are to follow using my other 24MHz Z80 computer build and sampling the drums in the computer...
For bass I will be using the Behringer JT4000M synth I recently purchased.

I wrote my own version of the Super Mario theme on my SC126 Z180 retro computer and using the SwinSID Nano which is a modern SID synth replacement. I wrote my own SID music player code and SID song sequence data format that allows me to code up tunes reasonable easily. You might need to turn the volume up a bit as its a bit quiet.

    There is little that can't be repaired but a special place in hell for the people who erase component values. Another trick is a pcb with the two outer layers as copper (like you can't still😅 tap out the schematic with a meter) 😂🖖🤞🤞

      @NickT6630 I throw out the current sources and use three magic H7 bulbs (from supermarket)per channel and my MOSFET A class sounds much better.

    i have a anaritsu site master the colour display seems to have gone all scrambled i managed to get a new display thats still the same so im assuming its going to be the display controller you can also plug a pc into it and even thats scrambled too fancy having ago at repairing it if i send it you would make a nice repair video regards kevin

    I went to a LINN demonstration day in the mid ‘90’s and their kit didn’t look like this. Having not listened to it properly and I don’t know the brand, I can’t say if it’s worth 25K or not. I do have a world service radio though if it helps, and I didn’t need monopoly money to buy it 😉

      Theres no components in this that make it worth 25K and the design of the op-amp circuits he took from examples in manufacturers data sheets that everyone has access to. The claims tom evans makes about the sound are pure BS.

    It is 20 years that electronic designers don't use tantalum capacitors anymore, except where capacitance stability vs voltage, and capacitance vs temperature are absolutely critical. This is because tantalum caps have the bad habit of clearing themselves at random. During the clearing process, which lasts one second or less, the capacitor become a short circuit, requiring a couple of amps for a successful clearing. If the power supply provides an higher current, the capacitor will pop; if the current isn't enough, the capacitor can remain in a shorted status permanently, like in this case. I have been flabbergasted by seeing literally hundreds of tantalum capacitor in this device; the designer may not have received the memo...

      The dip switches change the input resistance load and capacitance to suit the particular moving coil cartridge you want to use.

    Build quality is a dog's dinner. That thing ain't worth 250 quid, let alone 25000. I'm barely an amateur and I admit some of my earlier perfboard builds looked as rubbish, but I'd be ashamed to ask for any money for something that was so poorly made. There are so many sins in this, but cheap, flimsy nylon standoffs in gear at this price point? Anfaddeuol!

      It really does make you wonder about the sanity of the very wealthy high end audiophool community and how they manage to be make basic every day decisions in life. The sorts of people who fall in to the trap of believing and buying in to this snake oil nonsense are likely to be company CEO's and bankers, lawyers, politicions, TV and film celebritys, oil company bosses, etc... no wonder the entire world is FXXK'ed.

    Just found your channel. I know nothing about electronics, but I sit transfixed watching you at work and your expertise as you bring these pieces of equipment back to life. I think £25000 for a pre amp like this is a bit of a joke. How does he sell these things? Who buys them? I believe it`s a case of the kings new coat and are sold to people with more money than sense. He tried to set you up to fail on this repair and the fact you did it must be a blow to his ego. Keep the videos coming.

    I like how the thin strips of cardboard are used as packing around the exterior frame and sides. It really adds to the premium feel of the whole thing... 😆After seeing this, I can imagine there'd be some pretty disappointed customers out there.
