Sorry about the bad weather but it looks like y'all made the most of it. I love salmon and would like to try that salmon chowder. Thanks for posting!
This must have been a blast!
catching up with more of your videos! I'm really enjoying seeing the Royal Caribbean videos. Nothing I've seen matches the shows on RC. Our first cruise was on Allure of the Seas and loved it. I missed that excitement on HAL, although, HAL is probably perfect for Alaska since you're so tired from the adventures during the day. While I don't need all the fun things on RC since I'm quite a bit older than you guys, I LOVE the excitement and the shows!
We do love the shows on RC. You’re right though. In Alaska, activities on the ship were definitely not very important to us. The sights kept us so busy during the day that we we weren’t that interested in nighttime activities. We’re back on the Nieuw Amsterdam in November for a Caribbean cruise, so it might be different then. We will see. Thanks for watching!
You missed out by not going to mendenhall glacier. Long walk thru rainforest with flowers to bottom of waterfall at base of glacier. We even spotted a porcupine in a tree while walking there. We only saw 4 whales on the whale quest boat. Saw more out of our balcony.
We may have been there the same day. We did go to Mendenhall, saw a porcupine on the walk to Nugget Falls, and the glacier. We just didn't stick with the original tour since we would have been overcharged for the trip to the Glacier. Thanks for watching!
I would rent a vehicle through Turo & go to mendenhall glacier in our own & explore more of Juneau on our own . Glad you took the bus though :)
We've never actually used Turo. Will have to try that sometime. Thanks for the advice!
Thank you for sharing! I am now building in back up plans for our cruise. You handled all the changes so well, an inspiration.
Thanks. It was disappointing, but we sure didn’t want to waste our first day in Juneau.
We seen more whales sailing out of Seattle than we did in our excursion, they were so far away every time but still neat to see.
We’re hoping to book out of Seattle next year.

Tuning in for all your Alaska content Corey and Laurie!
Thanks so much! It was an incredible cruise.
YES! Finally someone agreed with me on the so called "Crisp." A crisp is supposed to have an oaty crunchy topping, thus why it's called crisp. The various "crisps" on the ship tasted like some warmed fruit filling with uncooked dry cake mix sprinkled on top. I was NOT a fan. :) Every one I saw looked the same. However, seeing those crab legs again made me hungry. Gosh, they were awesome.
That's it exactly. Even the redone one wasn't baked enough. Strange that they do so many things really well, and fail at something simple. The crab legs were awesome, but expensive. Thanks for watching!
And it feels good:)
lol
Good stuff,Alaska is so beautiful, fun and informative vlog.
Alaska quickly became our favorite cruise destination! Can't wait to go back.
Great video folks. Alaska is a place I would love to visit one of these days without a doubt. Your video is making "one of those days" sooner :)
It will happen! We want to go every year now.
@@m2seacrew EHHeeee, I bet. That is how I feel about Germany :). I have lived in Germany for a total of six years and I am always drawn back :).
Way to keep a Positive Attitude 👍 Those Crab 🦀 Legs were Huge!!! 😍😋😍😋
They were, and they were a lot more expensive than we would have imagined in Alaska...
@@m2seacrew Oh I Bet!!
You lucky lucky people. As I solo, I would love to do Icon, but.. 💵 💵 💵
Yeah, we got super lucky getting in a group that was booked on day 1, so the prices were affordable Couldn't even dream of it with current prices.
Wow! You've both lost a lot of weight since this short was made! Congratulations 🎉!
Yep, we’ve been working hard (outside of vacation) every day. Thanks for noticing!
Dang dude!!!! You've seriously dropped some weight since this was made! Congratulations!
Yeah that was April last year. I’m down about 90 lbs since this time last year. Working on that last 30 or so.
Now I'm hungry! 😊 Thanks for posting!
Nothing like SXM ribs!
Voted Best volumizer of a cruise ship
Great video!!
Thanks so much for watching!
Minus bad weather looks like an interesting day. I enjoyed the lumberjack show. Thanks for posting!
It was a fun, but kinda short day in port. We can't wait to go back and hopefully have better weather!
yes, always dress in layers in Alaska!! September though was kind of warm but we also had no rain
We are definitely going to be trying different parts of the season. It seems there are significant differences depending on when you travel. We were told that we were a couple of weeks early for the salmon runs, which attract bald eagles, black and brown bears, etc. Humpback and orca also have their seasonal movement which doesn't always match up with your cruise timeframe. We've heard though, that later in the season most of the snow is gone from the mountaintops, which would make the scenery very different. With all that said, we want to go every year, if we can swing it!
What a wonderful video folks. We had so much fun that weekend and you are right, there is never enough time for everything in one trip. I love the drone work BTW!!!! The final count for the dinner was 101 out of 120 that originally signed up. I am so glad that y'all came to the 4th Annual Meetup and we hope to see you at the 5th !!!!!.
Oh yes, The Spaghetti Eis is always yummy, lol !!!! :)
We will be there! Can't wait to see everyone again, and to get to know many of the others better. Thanks for watching.
@@m2seacrew So cool, I am looking forward to the meetup and hope to spend more time with everyone!!!!!!! :)
big bowl on that Lobsta Bisque !! Wow
Good stuff!
l see what you did there !!! LOL (Creek street)
How times have changed...
YOYOYO !!! Coffee is always a good stop !!!
Kinda liked that Breva, or whatever they called it.
Great vlog folks. I need to get to Alaska one of these days. PS- I just found you on Instagram and I will send you a message in the next few min, :). Again, great job!!!!!
Thanks so much for tuning in! Alaska is absolutely our favorite destination to date. We can't wait to go back. We're so glad you enjoyed it!
@@m2seacrew I bet, I would too!!!
You are too critical of the food. Try Carnival and let's see if you give Holland America better marks.
Not sure how you know we are being too critical. Our food was the way it was. We were lead to believe, by a number of other cruise UA-camrs, that HAL was grouped with premium cruise lines when it comes to food. That was not our experience. We had as good if not better food selections and quality on Royal Caribbean. We haven't cruised Carnival as of yet, but we will let everyone know our opinion of their food quality at that time. If they are worse, then their rating would be lower, but not the other way around. Food quality assessments should be based on the best and worst food you've ever had, not just on cruise ships. We just try to be honest about our experience. No sugar coating, no whitewashing, just our experience. We were ready to call HAL our favorite cruise line based on what we thought we knew about the line even before the cruise, but that just wasn't the case. YMMV
I love HAL! Not sure why these people are so critical of Holland America.
We really expected to love HAL. Unfortunately, on this one cruise, their service and the food left a lot to be desired. We are back on the Nieuw Amsterdam in November, so we're hoping that experience is better. We were critical because it was deserved. We are honest and fair, and give our opinion as such.
You spend 10 minutes complaining about an Inside room, demanding a lounge space, couch, etc, when that was the cabin type YOU CHOSE! Absolutely clueless. Then you use clickbait words like “chaos” for embarkation, but then grudgingly admit there were tons of helpful people around to assist you. This is the first and last time I visit your channel. A UA-cam channel that is 100% negative is not for me.
Ok... it was a very chaotic boarding process, compared to every other ship we've boarded Yes we chose the inside cabin. People who have never been in one, like us, have every right to know that they are very different from a balcony cabin, in more ways than just the balcony. If you had watched more of our videos, you'd realize that we're rarely negative about our experiences, but ultimately we have to be honest about how we feel. Wish you the best.
subscribed !! Sailing on freedom September 22!!!!
me!! It was a lot of fun. Thanks for subscribing and commenting!
Great footage of the scenery. For afternoon tea, to my knowledge only Carnival Corp. (Carnival, Princess, Holland America) offer it.
It was Carnival that I had afternoon tea on years ago. We really enjoyed it. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I'm really enjoying watching your videos. It's fun to see your views and if they are the same as ours. :) We were a bit disappointed with the food most nights. Nothing was bad, but nothing was ever really what I would have given a 10. We had the painfully slow service the night we ate at the Pinnacle. Over 2 1/2 hours !! Our dinner was beautiful, but nothing was cooked very well. Other nights we had pretty good service. I too missed having the same waiters at dinner but, I did enjoy going when we wanted to. Can't wait to see the rest of your videos and relive Alaska....I'm so ready to go back....but maybe on a different cruise line.
It's definitely a mixed bag. We like having the same server, but also like the flexibility as well. Service was mixed, some great, some not so much. Same with the food. Sometimes it was pretty good, but other times it was sub-par. All in all it wasn't up to the level we have come to expect on Royal Caribbean.
@@m2seacrewoh goodness. First HAL cruise coming up. I’ll dial down my expectations here
Really enjoying this Holland America/ Alaska series. Looking forward to the rest. Thanks for posting! P.S. I saw a lecture on "The Real Pirates of the Caribbean" on our Princess cruise and really enjoyed it.
Thanks so much Scott! I'm working every weekend to try to get them edited. I wish we could put them all out right away, but need to cover the weekly releases for a bit!
Great content!
Thanks so much for watching! More to come...

Thanks and welcome aboard!
Ha - you got my sister dancing! LOL. Interesting your thoughts on the food not being an upgrade over other cruise boats. Our first cruise. We thought the food was quite good, especially the upgraded dinners.
Nothing was really bad, low quality, or in any way objectionable, other than one dessert we had. It just didn't seem to be any better than what we've had on RCL cruises. In addition to that, the Royal buffets seem to have a better selection with easier access to items. We're on a Celebrity cruise next month, and they have been hyped as an upgraded dining experience as well, so we will see. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I really enjoyed your video. We've done Alaska 2x and a 3rd coming up in September on NCL. The ship is nice and the food looked good. On our first ever cruise and first to Alaska someone told us that "story" about the inside cabin...Nope never again and especially not at the front of the ship. Looked like you had a great day 😊 Thanks for sharing✌🏾
Thanks so much! We can't tell you how much it means to us to have folks enjoy our videos. We can't wait to go back to Alaska. It was our favorite cruise to date!

Hi guys!!! We've been watching you since we met on the train! What a fabulous trip we had!! We love Calimari but I'm with you Laurie!.... Cilantro tastes like soap to me. :( I'd rather have my Calimari with a good marinara sauce. "Amuse Busche" literally means it amuses the mouth. "Amuse bouche is a French term that refers to a complimentary, bite-sized appetizer or hors d'oeuvre that some restaurants serve before a meal." Sounds like yours was delicious. I miss Alaska already! Would like to go back and spend a week in Vancouver. I fell in love with the Granville Market and wish I could have had a week in an AirBnB to cook from foods from the market there! I agree...what a preview Vancouver is for a fabulous vacation!!!
Thanks so much for watching and commenting! We only wish we had met our group earlier in the voyage. We didn't make it to the market, but it sounds interesting.
