Actually Rod James, the logo is known as the "wheel within wheel" and comes from the days when Arriva had interests in car leasing as well as bus operations (I.e. small car wheel inside a big bus wheel).

allisons are improving all the time. i just dont think they can match zf or voith. allisons do work well with fairy small engines.

at545 transmission drops back to idle in every gearin auto mode but the revs dont drop as quick in 4th. they can be used in manaul mode. move the T-stick. we found when down gearing from 3rd to second in manual mode the revs dropped alot slower must have had engine breaking in manual mode. a few up on here do it.

Was the T280R used in 6cyl cummins optare solo's. this combination sounds like a solo.

So Instead of the Bus400R they Use the Truck280R

This bus was new to Lothian Region Transport (LRT) in December 1984 as their 770, B770GSC. After a period as a Leyland demonstrator it was eventually taken into LRT stock in June 1985, but ran in service in Edinburgh for only a month before Leyland approached LRT to buy it back in connection with a potential order in Bangkok. A replacement 770, C770SFS, was supplied to LRT with the next batch of Olympians. The Bangkok order never materialsed and the bus later found its way to Hong Kong.

Interesting the seat fabric is not unlike the 1980's style in the Titans and Metrobuses

That's all right. Actually the T280 is fully torque-converted without a retarder just like the AT545, in which when not stepping on the gas you can't guess what gear is engaged as said by video47. It's used in place of the AT545 should the configuration not support such a transmission set but at the same time the behaviour of the AT545 is to be retained as much as possible. Full size single deckers and double deckers support the T280.

Probably B400R or B300R instead of the T280 series.

6/354 mealbreak crossover ceased effect last year with the addition of a split due to LTA's 10min peak hour ruling.

SBS8031J did 354 before due to 6/354 crossover. It cameo-ed 5 once also.
