Logs Stuck Behind Miles of Thawed Out Ice Road
Переглядів 3 тис.5 місяців тому
In this video, we'll show you the challenges we faced when logs got stuck behind a thawing logging road during the warmest winter on record. The uncertain weather made it difficult to navigate and caused delays in our logging operation. Watch how we were able to overcome these obstacles and continue working despite the challenges. #UncertainWeather #ChallengingWinter #ThawingLoggingRoad

2 days to finish the job before Thanksgiving with a DOT officer sniffing around
Переглядів 47 тис.9 місяців тому
With fortunate weather and a deadline to beat, we slap out the rest of the chipwood. A DOT officer was in the area and we were concerned about being overloaded and then pulled over. It was a short haul and we were probably fine with our weight but he didnt seem to find our route. I worked the first day completely exhausted.

      Not a problem for the grinder the bands were plastic. It might be an issue for mulch however. And ya, we ship to LP all the time with our independent truckers

    You do know the logmax comes with a slide hammer to remove all pins. You don’t even remove cotter pins you shear them off. The logmax has always had this. Im sure there are at least 2 of these laying in tour dad’s shop

    • @waynehershey
      @waynehershey 6 місяців тому

      Ya I've used them, still a hassle compared to a more open head like a waratah

  • @alanb9337
    @alanb9337 7 місяців тому

    The 622 harvester head is getting on a bit now. More than 5000 622 harvester heads have been made. Axis Forestry (Kamloops & Idaho)do some aftermarket parts for them see 'Rebuilt waratah processor heads by Axis Forestry'youtube video. Axis's Cypress Robotics Gen5/6 control systems can replace the waratah, south star etc control systems. To move on from Waratah you might be looking at other heads such as Axis's Rebel head built on the knowledge of making waratah replacement parts, the Ponsse (Rhinelander,wi) heads in the range of H7 to 'New H8' etc. The artificial intelligence can pick up the 'fire stick' imagery at the end of the video, might be preferable not to show such a device.

    • @waynehershey
      @waynehershey 7 місяців тому

      Interesting ya we've ordered parts from axis good people to work with. Sometime I should price out their cypress control system. "firestick" haha
