@smajet5640 I thought it was gonna be a twist where you lost on the last square or something, not a philosophical discussion on the inherent value of success and the dislike of failure no matter how trivial.

There is a book called Bullseye Mind by Raymond Prior about the mental side of shooting sports. I think you might find it a good read on this topic. I have seen a lot of up and coming competitors who just don't believe in themselves, or lose all faith as soon as something goes wrong. It takes a lot of mental practice to build up a belief in your skills and to fortify it so that a mistake or a failure does not cascade into the next shot. Whilst you do need to have a certain level of skill to allow the belief in your self to be realistic, a lot of people think the mental side of sports is so much harder to master because they only focus on the physical skills at the start.

Should I get the comic or the novel?
I like the novel more personally because there is a lot of stuff that the comic cuts out that I like, but the book is pretty long which I could understand being worse for some people. Basically, get the original, but if you hate reading traditional novels and/or love comic books, get the graphic novel instead. (Or if you absolutely love the story like me, get both.)
Watch the animated film from 1978. Not the remake tv series.
@@MrMishmashmoshthe remake is just atrocious. I can’t fathom how they could get it so wrong.
